Anyone have elevated liver enzymes?

I am at 14 months out and have lost 111 pounds and about at goal.

I posted this on another board and am copying here from three posts combined..

Mine were shown to be elevated about two months ago. The one that was showing high was ALT and it was about 85 to 90 and should have been under 40 to 60 (depending on which lab ran tests). My next month's results were about 70.

I had ultrasound and they could not tell me why the elevation. I went back in a week or so for more blood work after last months to see if any changes.

I was also checked for all forms of Hepatitis and genetic liver issues, but all were negative... thankfully.

I had to cancel a tummy tuck/butt lift on September 3rd because my regular doctor didn't want me to have to filter the anesthesia through my liver until we could figure out what is going on.

My WLS doctor said sometimes we patients have elevations and they never know why.

Do you think it would help if those of us with elevated enzymes posted what we eat/take each day to see if there is a pattern? Maybe some of us have something in common that is causing the elevation.

This is what I have thought of that my liver has to filter each day:

Vivelle Hormone patch .05% twice a week
Famotidine (Pepcid) 20 Mg twice a day
Vitamins (Perfect Pak II) that I purchase from my WLS office
Splenda/Sucralose daily
Two to three scoops of protein powder daily (Mostly Inspire / Whey)
Other protein like chicken breast, tuna pack, cottage cheese, etc.
FAGE yogurt daily
Rogaine -- dropper full at night on top of my head for thinning hair prevention
Was getting Botox in forehead every 5 or 6 months, but not for a while
Benefiber daily 2 to 3 tablespoons in decaf tea at night

Anyone else have anything in common with my daily info above and have elevated enzymes?

UPDATE:

Went back to check in at doctor today and since a month ago, my liver enzymes are still slightly elevated. We don’t know why. All other function tests came back great. I have to go back in three months and test again. He said if they stay up for six more months, he will probably do a liver biopsy, but doesn’t want to do that for a while.

Guess no tummy tuck for now. I’m just a little nervous and don’t want my liver to have something wrong with it.

My metabolic system may have changed from losing lots of weight, the doctor says it could be caused from many things and we just have to watch it for a while. He said it is not dangerously high for now.

ALT is 92 and should be between 14-54 range

AST is 62 and should be between 15-41 range

Just a little nerve-wracking because I have always had great bloodwork for everything.

It has nothing to do with your diet. NASH or fatty liver disease is usually from years of being obese and eating poorly. Have your doc do a liver ct to check to see if you have fatty liver disease.

I will. Can fatty liver disease be reversed? Wonder why it didn't show up on my six month check up after surgery? It didn't read high until my one year check up.

Thanks!
