Yes, check for yourself. What may be "high" to me may be perfectly fine to you. I didn't mean to sound judgmental.

I'm lactose intolerant, so what protein shake recipes do y'all have that don't involve milk?

Thanks!

At 9 net grams of carbs these are perfectly ok for a wls patient. The problem with this is that it's sustained release-not optimal for a shortened digestive tract.

I drink Atkins strawberry and vanilla. Sometimes I add frozen berries. I also drink pure protein. I have only tried the chocolate which taste like chocolate milk to me. I usually drink them when I can't get a meal in or after working out. I have never had surgery but the extra protein still helps.

depends on the shake, they make a wide range of Low carb protein shakes.

I prefer the one's that are over 20g pro. I used to use IDS vanilla cin alot as well as the pure whey stack choc . making shakes with 30g of protein with approx 4-6oz water.

I would also call myself a success, since my surgery was over 6 years ago, and I have maintained my weight loss, oh and I am not a gray ghost (at least I hope not)!! I do have gray hair though, but that is only because I have not colored it in a long time!
i think its wonderful that you're a success!
But i'd be wondering what your surgeon recommends now? As surgeons are now rec'ing the shakes when previously they poo poo'd them.

If you're lactose intolerant maybe use Almond Milk as a base?
Dr. Mercola's site has a Pea Protein shake that has no milk in it.
Pure Pea Protein

Hope you find one that tastes good and is super nutritious!
