Hello, my name is Angela, and I am an Old Timer in Relapse Recovery. You may know me from the illustrious peer-reviewed journal Flabazon to Glamazon, or even as the swanky head chef of Photos of Low Carb Meals. I have been away from these boards for a few years, I totally burned myself out. But, the burns have healed, and I am ready to go at it again.

I have been succeeding and failing since 2003. Same dumb story over and over again. I do great, and then I implode. I know what works best for me, but how I go about making it happen has to change. I think itís time to do everything completely differently, since doing the same methods over and over, although effective, really didnít last. Being too strict never lasts, being too lax never works.

So, what is a Do-Over Diva to do? Iím here to figure it out, and hopefully all my old friends will come in to help me. I thought having a community journal is a good idea, so we can have a single place to hang out and not journal hop. As much as I love all the individual accounts out there, I just canít spend that kind of time here any longer. Spending too much time on LCF was part of my previous burnout. My real life is slam packed full and I really need to be wary of how I spend my time online, or Iíll end up suffering somehow and my imminent implosion will begin again. I just canít do it all, and must streamline portions of my life to make it easier on myself. So, I really wonít be venturing much outside this journal or my Meal Photo thread. I apologize if I donít read or comment in the journals of my dear pals out there, itís nothing personal. You know where to find me!

I am going to spend my day today thinking of ways to go about this Low Carb Lifestyle that is completely different than what I have done in the past. I know what works for me without question, now is the time for some creative and new proper management!

While I'm figuring stuff out today, might as well show you what I had for breakfast. Nothing exciting, but super-keto!

3 eggs scrambled with butter, sausage, mushrooms, salt & pepper

Oh Angela I love it!!!!!

MARTINI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! **********MUAH*****************

I think this is a super idea, I have like 20 minutes in the morning, then I feel bad if I don't respond to everyone's journal, my journal sort of sucks anyway, this will be active and fun!!!!

Dani- I cant keep up with yours you will have to post the highlights here!!!

Seabreeze- Aloha beautiful!!!!

So today was so whacky, it was almost 80 degrees hot and humid and then a tornado watch came up, the sky got so black and dropped hail the size of baseballs across the county, it was so deep like 6" deep cars were getting hit left and right peoples windows shattered, I was so lucky! My car seems ok, and the house is still standing although our yard is a freaking mess and all my flowers are ruined! What a day!!!!

Hubs had dinner ready and had to go to the dentist before I made it home at 6:30. Water up to the car wheels, claims were out of control!!!!!

Hubs made tacos so I had a delish taco salad! I lugged home my 10 pound beef brisket he is going to smoke in the smoker for our party on Saturday!

Missed my class at the gym so might take a walk and survey the damage in the hood!

Whew what a day!

Glad you are ok Amber. That must have been scary. Apparently Denver area also got hit with wild weather.

It's hot and cloudy here, but no hail!

Ammmmmberkins! Muaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! You're looking awesome as ever!

Dinner was 2 ribs and a smoked chicken quarter with coleslaw.

I'm baking a cake for my Dads bday. Licked the spoon! Opps! Sue me!

Onward we go!

Great Hairy Heiffers, Amber! How scary! Just think of all that awesome business coming your way, though-- cha-ching!

Good dinner, Martini! Lick the spoon, big deal, moving on! Part of my new self-management method will be to not lick the spoon, but if I do, to just forget it and move on like it didn't happen. So many of my "lost weekends" were tipped off by some small dumb thing that I allowed to spiral out of control. Licking spoons happens. What happens after that is WAY more important. Yes, onward we go!

Tonight's dinner:
Chicken & Spinach Alfredo (Costco rotisserie chicken, fresh spinach, jar of Trader Joe's Alfredo Sauce, fresh garlic, pepper) Very delicious!

Super duper easy to make, dump all in pan, heat and serve. The chicken is from Costco, they sell their leftover rotisserie chicken deboned and vaccuum packed, a great big bag for about $11. So handy for everything!

Has anyone tried this bread?

Great Low Carb Bread Company

I know they sell it here on Netrition. Not that I am searching for a bread, but every once in a while... I would love a piece of toast. Plus, my mom needs to be low carb, and she is not as ahem gung ho as I am and misses bread to the point of just eating bread and not caring anymore. If this bread is good, I will try it!

The ingredient list looks really good, and the reviews are great, but I'm so suspicious after the whole Julian Bakery debacle.

I got that bread and bagels and it is pretty good a little eggy tasting but toasted it is OK better than real bread. I still like the Ezekial bread a few more carbs but no wheat and flour and its cheap and easy to get at the grocery store!

Honey is working up the 10 pound brisket for the smoker on Saturday I hope it turns out!

Our big storm made National News!!! Good old Brian Williams was talking about us, they had to get out the snow plows to move the hail, the skylights at the mall collapsed in from the hail, so the mall is closed, it looked like something out of the walking dead, honestly it was unreal! Cars are everywhere with no windows and banged up like crazy!

Today will be brutal!!!! All the claims mean less money! But thankfully they are declaring a catastrophic loss so that is good it doesn't come out of my boss's income.

Leftover lunch I have some ground beef and a small little chorizio, and a salad.

Have a lovely long weekend everyone. We'll scatter flowers on Monday off Waikiki for our son and many other friends.

Punch bowl is quite a site to see, also this weekend.

When are you done teaching, Kitty and when do the other children start summer?

The local schools get out soon, but the Private ones will go a bit longer here.

Alrighty. I have thought about what I'm going to do to be a "Do-Over Diva."

I've been in this position a hundred times, and I always seem to do the same thing over and over-- come up with an awesome long winded plan that I blab on and on about, do great, then burn out. You've seen me do it! Lots!

I had to really stop myself from doing that again. I have to do stuff differently this time, because doing the same plan over and over isn't helping me.

So, what I'm going to say next is completely different.

I've decided to be selfish. COMPLETELY SELFISH. I am going to take a 3 month hiatus from everything and just concentrate on losing this weight. I am going to put myself first. My top priority will be paying attention to myself and doing what needs to be done to reach my goals. That is my primary job for those three months. Nothing will take precedence over that. Everything else will take a backseat, doesn't matter what it is. I will do stuff for/with other people only after I am taken care of for the day. I will be my top priority.

Wow. I've never ever in my life acted that way. I wonder what it will be like?

And, for anyone about my well-loved family, well, they are totally fine. They got my back. No one will be suffering, despite my laser focus on myself.

I don't really know how to go about being all selfish and stuff, I'll figure it out soon. First thing I should practice is saying "NO! Not until I'm done with me."
