Thanks monees! I had to give it up, cause I can't drink it black or without lots of sugar right now.

There is no other WOE for Me.

2. Low-carb Diets Lead to More Weight Loss

Carb restriction almost invariably leads to greater weight loss than diets that are reduced in fat. Sometimes the difference is small, while other times 2-3 times as much fat is lost (3).

When it has been tested it is noted that a greater proportion of the fat lost came from the abdominal area in low-carb dieters.

This means that the deep visceral fat, highly associated with diabetes, heart disease and an unflattering appearance, is especially vulnerable to the fat burning effects of low carbohydrate diets (4).

Day 5: Induction

Good Morning, TGIF

I feel absolutely great. I forgot to hop on the scale this morning, before my shower. But I will in the morning. I feel lighter (to be expected) and in control. My husband is proud of me, even though he thinks I can lose weight without Atkins; just eating in moderation. I think it drives him crazy, how I plan and constantly talk about "what I can eat and what I can't." He sees Atkins more like a quick fix, cause it's been said that people can't live without certain carbs. That's not true, and I just think he's seen me give in time and time again; so that's part of the reason he feels that way. Also, his stepfather and niece's mom lost a lot of weight low carbing and gained it all back, and some. I'm going to be the proof in the pudding that it can be done. I did it before, but went hog wild when I added back in the wrong carbs. This time is going to be different, I can just feel it.

Meals:

b/ Garcia sausage with scrambled eggs and cheese
l/ treating myself to lemon pepper wings and celery with blue cheese
d/ a salad or left over wings (if there is any)

Exercise:

1 hour power walk

You go girl. I'm glad to hear you got your grove back and it's nice to have a motivating significant other. My guy recently complimented me on my weight loss but reminded me that he never had a problem with my size before. I told him it's a matter of health and personal preference for me firstly. It is important that we stay the course and prove to people we are not crazy for all the changes we have made in our eating habits to create a new way of life rather than a quick fix.

Thanks monees!

I feel the same way, and even though my husband reminds me daily; that he loves me at any size. I need to feel confident about myself, and happy in the skin I'm in. Health matters over everything, even though my desire is to wear all the cute clothing in my closet. It's Summertime and I want to be at least close to 15-20 lbs down. Have a great weekend!

Happy Saturday!

I woke up in such a fabulous mood. I have so much to be thankful for, and one is the desire and strength to decide to live a healthier life and put in the work it takes to do so. Also, I'm down 6 lbs and ready to see the scale go below the 230's. The best is yet to come, and I'm going to remain focus like never before. Amen

Meals:

b/ practiced with an omelet with real bacon bits and cheese (not so bad)
l/ some sort of salad or wings
d/ not sure yet?

Exercise:

Walking while we're out and about.

Day 7: Induction

Good Evening!

I've had a wonderful day with my father and grandfather. My grandfather made it his business to ask, when are you going to have kids? So that's on my mind again, and I believe and have always thought; that Atkins may help in that area. We'll see, as time tells everything.

Meals:

b/ scrambled eggs and cheese with bacon and sausage
l/ skipped as breakfast was late
d/ cabbage and baked chicken drumsticks

Exercise:

Off day

Day 8: Induction

Good Morning!

I had a wonderful weekend and it was well spent with family and friends. I didn't get any exercise in and I plan to be more consistent in that area this week. Each day I'm feeling better and better. My elastic skirt is loose and fitting very nice; will have to give them away in a few weeks or so though. Can't wait to get back to my buckle clothing and belts.

Meals:

b/ leftover chicken drumstick
l/ salad with chicken breast, cukes, real bacon bits and eggs
d/ may grill some burgers and broccoli with cheese

Exercise:

45 minute power walk in the neighborhood after work

Day 9: Induction

Good Afternoon!

I'm swamped in the office, but wanted to update my journal for the day. My boobs feel so much smaller and there is a gap on the side of my bra. I just love NSV. I feel so much better about myself and the fact that food no longer controls me, but I'm controlling what goes in my mouth and it's all good stuff. I've been searching for recipes and boy have I been missing out. There are so many delicious meals to enjoy with this WOE.

Meals:

b/ cup of coffee with splenda
l/ 2 cheeseburgers with a side salad
d/ baked wings with lemon pepper seasoning and green beans

Exercise:

Indoor cardio, bad weather here in FL

Good Morning!

My tummy is a little upset today. I'm still swamped in the office, but nevertheless I'm sticking to Induction and it feels good to add another successful round under my belt. I want to be more consistent with my exercise and I plan on joining Blast-Gym this weekend. I added a pic below of my quick meal to grab on the go or add with a salad or veggies.

Meals:

b/ Not hungry and feeling a bit funky
l/ ground beef with sausage bell peppers and onions
d/ probably same as lunch with a side salad

Exercise:

Day off

b/ scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon
l/ Cesar salad and it was delicious
d/ steak and broccoli with cheese

A healthy lifestyle allows you to feel good, look good and maintain a naturally high level of energy. It is never too late to change your diet or habits around so that you can incorporate more positive choices into your lifestyle to improve your health. An important thing to remember is that maintaining a healthy lifestyle is different than participating in a temporary diet fad or workout program. Rather, a healthy lifestyle can be accomplished by evaluating various aspects of your life and making changes where necessary.

Day 14: Induction

I made it and it feels great. I can't wait to eat a few peanuts (unsalted). I forgot to weigh before I ate anything this morning, but hopped on for giggles. I'm down another 4 lbs; I'm sure it's a little more, but I'll take it. So that's around 10-12 lbs loss during Induction. I slid on a pair of capris I haven't worn in a while, they're not as tight as they used to be. Updated pic below, the back fat is decreasing.

Meals:

b/ 2 sausage patties with scrambled eggs and cheese
l/ nothing, I had a sugar free jello as a snack
d/ steak and green beans

Day 13: Induction (posted on Facebook on my group page and forgot to repost here)

My tummy is feeling a little funky again, nothing major. I think a lot of it has to do with me changing up the foods I'm consuming now. I know it's just a phase, that will pass.

Meals:

b/ I'll whip up some scrambled eggs with cheese later
l/ Turkey salad with real bacon bits
d/ not sure yet, if we go out a steak and legal veggies
Need to up my water intake.

Exercise:

Decided not to meet up with the other ladies for the 5 mile walk. I was exhausted and had to be up early for my hair appt. I'll power walk this evening for 30 minutes, every step helps.

Check-in

Down another 3 lbs from the last time I weighed, and I feel great and determined. It's a journey, and that's exactly how I'm looking at it. There will be bumps in the road, U-turns and etc. I'm focus this go round, and I know I'll be ending 2014 with a bang. I'm trying different recipes, staying connected to those who are on the same path, and willing to press pass their excuses.

Heythere. So glad things are going well for you. Well doesn't always mean perfect but it means you recognize the imperfections in this process but you press thru them anyway knowing the totality of your efforts results in reaching your goal in spite of. Keep it up - we are gone there this time around. Take care.

Hey monees,

I truly appreciate your continued support and encouragement. I slipped up a bit during the 4th of July, but I decided no more slip ups.

I want to exit 2014, God's willing; slimmer and healthier!

6.6 lbs to go to my first Mini Goal

I'm super excited and I'm doing the happy dance in my mind.

After my 4th of July splurge, I'm back down and moving along quite swiftly. I love this WOE, I'm eating luscious foods while losing weight and feeling great.

Hey there. Been out on vacation for a couple weeks and refused to go near computers. All is well and I did enjoy some down time but it's amazing how once you change the eating habits it's hard to go past a meal or two deviating from your plan. So I'm older and I know it's going to take a little longer to reach goal but I'm in it for the long hall. Wouldn't give up the ground I've gained for nothing. So keep it up.

Hello,

Welcome back from your trip. I'm still plugging along, and feeling great as the days go by. Today is day 14 of Induction and I see myself going further this time and really making this a lifestyle change. I'm replacing foods that I enjoyed before, with foods that are healthier and better for this WOE.

We'll reach our goals for sure, we just have to take it one step at a time and embrace the journey. Hope your weekend has been great!

Down 12 lbs!

Good Afternoon,

I'm so not a scale slave, but I'm loving seeing the numbers go down.

TOM arrived this morning, and I think I'm actually less than what the scale states; because of the bloat that he brings along with him. Nevertheless, I feel good about myself and I truly think I can make this a lifestyle, with occasional treats; off days here and there.

Hi there. I have been under vacation coverage and can't get online as well but everything is going well. Just slow. I have adjusted my possible goal to 145-50 and hope to make that by end of year. I just can't seem to get thru these summer functions without have a treat here or there and then losing ground for a minute. But I'm learning a lot thru the process. Wishing yu well.
