Thank you, kwerp! I'm not sure what chapter I'm on; but, the way she explains dieting & the problems it causes make so much sense to me! I plan on reading much more today. My DH is home to help with our son, so I should have more time to read. Have a great day!

Well, I didn't give up my puppy & I'm so happy that I kept her!! She is just the sweetest thing & she's really caught on to house training. She uses puppy pads like my grown maltese & we praise her lavishly & give her a treat! She has a really cuddly nature & loves to sleep on my shoulder, just the way a baby does! So, how can I give up something that is so precious!?

I'm still trying to get thru the book "How to Have Your Cake....." Years ago, I would read an entire book in one day. But, I can't do that anymore. So, I may be slow to read or to learn; but, I'll get there!

I took a spill on our back steps this evening! I had gathered eggs & somehow my foot slipped, my shoe came off & down I went! I broke all but 1 egg in my basket!!! Darn it!! I don't think I injured myself really. I'll know in the morning if I can't get out of bed. My back feels like I may have pulled it. But, only when I bend over. My DH came out & helped me up. Together we washed the porch down & threw away the broken eggs. My barn cat started eating on the raw eggs & I just hope she doesn't get a taste of them & begin getting into the hen house to get eggs! That would not be a good thing!

I am not losing weight; but, I'm not gaining either. My goal had been to be at 178 by the end of April. I'm staying at 180. So, it is what it is, right? I would love to not be so dependent on my scales. Hopefully, when I can stop thinking with a diet mentality, I can throw them away!

I'm off to bed. I look forward to a good day of eating tomorrow!

Hi Shari,
Ouch. Taking a tumble smarts, no matter what! I'm jealous you have fresh eggs. DH and I get some from a farm when we visit his parents. The taste is amazing!

I put away my scale last week. Some days I'm really curious, other days I'm glad that the morning weigh-in doesn't affect how I feel. The minutiae was doing my head in. Ultimately, it's how my body looks to me and not the number that matters.
Have an awesome day!

Shari, hope you're ok. So sorry to hear about your fall. There's so much to digest in the book that it takes some time for it all to sink in. I'm readng it over again to make sure the thoughts become second nature. We just have to keep trying and do the best we know how. Dieting is so ingrained and it takes a long time to weed it out.

Thanks kwerp & CC! I got up with no soreness!! So, I got really lucky!

kwerp, if you were close enough I would share my eggs with you! I sell some & give away a lot this time of year. I have 40 hens & they really lay more eggs than I know what to do with. In the winter, I barely get enough to keep me from having to buy them! I would hate to have to eat store bought eggs again. Guess I'm spoiled!

CC, I set for a while this morning on the front porch in my rocker! Then, I came inside cause the wind was blowing me away! lol! I'm a little over 1/2 way thru the book & I just know I'm going to have to reread it! It's a kindle addition, so I'm highlighting a lot of the info. If I can get my head cleared of all the old AD, I think I'll be ok. This new medication seems to be working for me! I am not as anxious or goofy feeling! Hopefully, this will not last much longer. Then, I can get down to business with all of the reading I want to do. I'm excited to see where all of this leads & hopefully, it means I can stop obsessing on food & diets!! Ugh!!

Very interesting hearing about the HDE. I found that JUDDD has naturally done just that for me. I never overstuff my self on UDs and only eat something that is totally worth the calories. I have a bit and move on.

I'm sorry Carly that I'm just now reading your post! I've just been super busy!

I think JUDDD was wonderful for me until it wasn't! It's almost like I have no "stop!" button when it came to my UD's. So, I binged........ALOT! I think with all of the reading I've done on HDE/IE, I may have found the key to allow myself to stop obsessing on food!

I'll try to stop back by tomorrow to write more in my journal.

Geez, I'm a really lousy journal writer! Life has just been so hectic & busy for me lately! I was sick for about 2 weeks. I had the cough from hell! A trip to the doctor, 2 shots & a z pac later, I am well. After another week of coughing! But, the congestion & runny nose left sooner. Yucky!!

I spent this past week with my 14yo grandsons in College Station! Yes, the home of the Aggies!! Their mom & dad(my oldest son) went to Las Vegas for a vacation. They had just moved to a new house(boxes EVERYWHERE!!). They also have 5 dogs, so putting them in a kennel was out of the question! Enter Grandma! We had such a wonderful time! Twins are a whole 'nother animal! lol! One of the boys reminds me of his Dad & the other of my middle son, Steven! They are identical; but, one is about 4 inches taller than the other. He's catching up tho!

I found out last week that my middle son has been approved for parole!! YAY!!! His release date is next August; but at least we see the light at the end of the tunnel!! I cried like a baby when I found out! He has a couple of classes he needs to take before his release. And then, the hard part comes.........getting adjusted to being in the real world again. You know, things change ALOT in 23 years!! But, it's a task that I gladly will help him!

I had been trying to eat HDE due to my over eating on UD's. But, I'm back to JUDDD because I just know it is better for me. So, my goal is to cut all of the "crap" food & eat healthy! I'm doing a pretty good job so far. Even when I was staying with my grandson's. I came home yesterday & ate some "crap". So, the new rule in this house is "no crap allowed"! DH will have to put it away if he wants it. I've been eating healthy, all natural foods.....fruit, veggies, protein, nuts, very little grains. I think that's the key for me.........lose most of the high carb foods. So, fruit may have to go at some point. But, for now, it keeps me from wanting processed sugars.

I have a lot to catch up on in the JUDDD forum & on CarolinaCoasts journal as well as Dawn's journal. I bet they thought I fell off the planet!!

I finished the two blankets I was crocheting for my new grandson expected in July! But, I still have a bit of sewing to do for him. Receiving blankets & bibs! I love doing that!! So, until next time......everyone reading this...thanks! Ttyl!

Glad to see you back Shari! Sounds like a busy time for you, but fun (not the sick part!). Those grandsons and all the dogs sound like a handful. I'm glad you're feeling better - those coughs are nothing to play around with. And exhausting!

Thank you, Carol & Monica!! I'm all better now! Even well enough to do JUDDD & enjoy it! I've lost 9 lbs so far this month! But, because of HDE, I am also paying attention to my hunger cues. I think that will help me not to go back to binges on my UD's. So far, so good.

Ya know, JUDDD is quite addictive! The forum I mean! I miss you all when I don't check in............so I'm going to be around more.

The history of EDs really do make us vulnerable. I have to watch myself closely, too.

Your weight chart looks great!

I agree. I have to check-in with myself regarding my history with a hopefully dormant ED. I don't think it ever goes away completely. I don't think I'll ever fall victim to anything as severe as I did as a teenager or in my early 20's, but I'm aware that my thinking is not quite normal in the food/weight/body image department if not checked regularly.

Thanks CC!! And yes, I believe our ED's make us vulnerable for life. I guess I just thought at my age, I was past it! NOT!!

Carly, I'd have to know what normal is to be able to be it!! But, thanks to JUDDD & you gals who are learning to eat "right" have helped me so much!!

Today is a DD for me! I have so many errands to run that I'm hoping I won't have time to think about food! Although, one of my stops will be the grocery store. My husband has a "honey do" list for me. I thought I was supposed to be the one to give HIM a list!?!

But, I will get a lot of walking in which is always good. I don't park close to the doors either. So, I get a few extra steps in.

Thanks everyone for stopping by! I enjoy what you have to share with me. Have a great day! I know I will!!!

I had a great DD yesterday! Stayed within my calories & even made it out of the grocery store without buying any junk!! Yay me!!

I start July off @ 173.6!! That's 11.2 lbs. since the 3rd of June! JUDDD continues to amaze me! If only I can not binge on my UD's this time around & stay with it!

My DH & I are booked on a cruise in October! We went on one last year in October & that's where I went off plan & never came back to it. This year will be different!! We are going to a couple of different ports this time. We're really looking forward to it. We wanted go in August; but, we won't have both of our son's assistants until October. So, we'll go & have a ball!!

Next week, I'm going to the doctor to find out the results of my colonoscopy. Then, I am going to my parents for a couple of days. My youngest sister is coming in from South Carolina. We're going to get together with our middle sister to talk about our parents & the conversation we need to have with them while they can still think clearly. Although, I'm not sure it may be a bit late for that. Mother needs to be in a wheelchair as she keeps falling! She won't use a cane or her walker. And those wouldn't keep her from falling anyway when her legs just give way under her! And Daddy's mental state is already declining. And, my youngest sister wants the 3 of us to have pictures made for our parents for christmas while she's here. I just got a perm, so I'm not sure I want to do that. My hair is much curlier than I wanted it to be!!

The week after next, I fly to South Carolina to be with my daughter when she has her baby by C-section. It's another baby boy they've named Eliott! He has a big brother who is 2&1/2. I'll be there for 10 days before flying back home. I am so excited to see her & the boys! I haven't seen them in 2 years!!!

Anyway, that's what's happening in my world today! My plan is for fried fish for dinner. We had a friend bring us some nice trout from his fishing trip a couple of weeks ago. YUM!!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Thanks, CC & Carol!! My UD has gone well. My plan for fried fish may end up being a bit much for 1 day. My DH took me to lunch & I ate well. But, I didn't over do. I had cheerios for breakfast. So, I will fry my fresh fish & enjoy it!! I can do that today without a binge!! Feels so good!!
