Candy's Weight-loss Journal- Lindora/Lean for Life

This will be my second time around. I did ok using the program, lost twenty lbs two years ago, stalled in the last couple weeks, turned out I was pregnant (this was my goal along with the weight-loss, but since it hadn't happened in the nine months before when I was 'trying', I thought I have some time to lose weight before I get pregnant. I think it's the program that helped my body function better and get knocked up without 'trying'). So the first time around, the day I started a new job is the day I started the program at the clinic. It made it so easy since I had not made lunch buddies yet and when you are new there isn't anyone around to inadvertently sabotage the diet. This time around I have my 14 month old baby boy and I'm a stay at home mommy I think the hardest thing will be dinner, since I still have a husband, baby, and 16 year old son to feed, but I can get through it, I did before. I also never exercised on the first go around, I plan on it this time Now to get down to food journaling.

Today is day 1, a protein day, and I am following what the clinic has given me as a sample menu for the next three days, so far I started a lil late, but still on course. I've eaten a peanut butter crunch protein bar, that wasn't too bad, but I'm not a super picky eater (part of my problem, I guess, but I will turn that into a positive and stick with these boxed foods for the next few days).

Later I will visit the clinic for my vitamin b shot and get my official starting weight and measurements. I need to make a short term goal for myself, so here it is: 10lbs lost by 4/3/14..... I CAN DO IT!

I worked out! I did a fairly easy On Demand walking video and I did the WHOLE thing It was a 53 minute, 3 mile video!

I'm still on course with my protein day, took a multi-vitamin, and have almost 40 ounces of water down. I feel like I'm off to a good start.

So, I went to my first daily visit to the clinic today (10 week program ahead of me). My starting weight is 168.0, not what I want to be of course, but I have only gained 4 pounds since I ended the program 2 years ago, not too bad considering I had a baby since then and I haven't been watching what I eat. I was happy with that when I saw it.

One thing I forgot that the girl at the clinic reminded me of today was to take fiber during the program especially during protein days... I had completely forgotten about taking fiber, that could have been bad if she didn't remind me

Yesterday went good, my first protein day! I was starving by the end of the day, especially when my hubby brought home Mexican food, thank god for this cold, I couldn't smell it, but I could see it. I got through the entire day following the sample protein day with all the Lindora products, with the exception of a teeny tiny bite of banana that I was feeding my baby. I felt so bad after
So, that 'fairly easy' video I did yesterday gave me a good workout, I feel it all over today, I wasn't expecting that. I know the worst thing I could do today is not workout, even though it doesn't feel the best, it will get better. Maybe I will try to find a 30 minute video, 53 minutes may have been a bit too ambitious, being that it has been a couple years since I've worked out.

I'm so glad I am excited this time around, probably because I know from experience that it works. I'm looking forward to see what I lose this first week

Day 2 weigh in

Woo hoo! I lost 2.4 lbs from yesterday. Now, I know it could be just water weight, but I'm going to take it anyways. I am so happy with that, and I have color on my keto stick... Good thing because I don't know if I can handle an extra day on protein... And after the baby had a good laugh at me while I worked out he is out for a nap, that means I can enjoy my boxed food in peace.. as much as it can be enjoyed anyways.

Day 3 weigh in

Well according to the scale at home I am down 1.2#. I'm not working out today, I am so tired. My nephew is spending the day with us, I cooked breakfast for the kids and husband, then my husband picked up jersey mikes for them for lunch... I should have made him take them out instead of me smelling it while I drank my delicious powdered shake. I'm not feelin' it today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better since I will be eating stuff I can actually chew, but then I have a birthday party to go to, I have to keep telling myself 'I CAN DO IT!'

Oh yes, and note to self (TMI for anyone else), if I haven't had fiber supplements in a while, it's best to start with the lowest recommended amount. Lol, today has been rough.

You are doing great! I love this plan. How are the shots working for you? Also, do you mind sharing the On Demand videos you are finding? Are they on Directv? That sounds awesome.

Keep it up! You are on your way.

Thanks MrsBettyDraper! I think the shots give me energy, I didn't have one today and I'm thinking that's why I'm so tired. As for the videos, I have verizon fios, I found them in the free section under TV shows and health. There is a lot to choose from, some were a lil too advanced, I had to start a few before I found one that I liked and thought I could do.

Not so great today.

Thanks Cprcheetah, for the words of encouragement.

Well today wasn't so great. Hopefully it didn't hurt me too much. I had a birthday party to go to over 50 miles away, so I was away most of the day. To start, I had an egg and a tangerine for breakfast, following the plan, then I had my protein drink 3 hours later right before we left around 12, still kinda following the plan (it should heave been 2 to 2.5 hours later)... Then this is where it gets bad, at the party, they had these mini wraps in this greenish tortilla, I had about 7, I figured this is the equivalent of one tortilla, it had thin deli meat, cheese and mayo. Then I ate the insides of a sandwich and a couple spoonfuls of a crab ceviche. When we got in the car for the ride back I ate a protein snack about 6:30. We had an errand to run when we got back, so we picked up El Pollo Loco. So at 8:30 I had dinner, which was a skinless chicken breast, with broccoli, and a side salad that had a little bit of Mexican cheese, dressing, and tortilla chip slivers as toppings... So that was my day. It could have been worse. I will just have to stick to the program tomorrow, and hopefully not too much damage was done. .... I didn't exercise either, but I really didn't sit down for about 4 hours, we were at a park and my baby boy wanted to see everything and be everywhere...that counts for something, right?

Day 5 weigh in

Yay, another 2# lost. I weighed in at 163.6 today. I am following the plan pretty good today, there was a long stretch when I went to the dentist where I let a bit too much time go by between meals. Here is my food for the day:
9:00- egg, 12 carb slice of toast
11:00- caramel delight bar 13 carbs
2:30- 3.5 oz chicken breast, 2/3 cup cucumbers 2 carbs, 2 cups lettuce 3 carbs, 1 tangerine 9 carbs, 1 carb dressing
6:00- wildberry drink 3 carbs
8:00- 3.5 oz tuna, 1 cup broccoli 5 carbs, 2 cups lettuce 3 carbs, 1/2 cup pineapple 10 carbs, 1 carb dressing.
9:30 creamy hot cocoa 5 carbs.
Total carbs for the day is 68. I think this might be slightly too high, I will talk to the girl at the clinic tomorrow. The scale just might tell me tomorrow if it is...

Day 6 weigh in

161.7..... Down two pounds from yesterday!!! I totally was not expecting that. The clinic manager said 68 carbs is fine, since it's working I should stick to that much.
Today I am following the same as i did yesterday pretty much, but adding in yesterday. I can't wait to get out of the 160s

Day 7 and 8 weigh in No change

So, there hasn't been any weight change for a couple days. I'm not too worried about it though, yesterday I had a protein day and for dinner I had turkey meatloaf, with a ketchup based sauce spread over it... Not too bad, but not good either. Ground turkey isn't on the 'approved' list of foods that I'm suppose to eat, I learned this today... Oops. I know the extra stuff in it and on it is definitely not, but I thought I was doing kinda good with the ground turkey, guess not. I've been good so far today, eating my chicken salad now as I type, and I plan on doing a video as soon as my lil guy takes a nap.

I've got 3 positive things to note:
1. I finished my first week and I am down 6.3 lbs
2. I've also been taking my vitamins every morning which is a big feat for me.
3. And finally, my BMI is out of the obese range. I never really saw myself as obese anyways

Thanks Lizzie! I hope we both meet our final goals as planned.

This is my unofficial weight, but I woke up today and thought hmmm, I feel skinnier today, so I weighed myself in my lightweight pjs and after I used the bathroom first of course. It said 159.6, OMG (I know it will be higher when I go to the clinic later, but still..) I haven't seen the 150's in about 5 years.... This is so encouraging, I can't wait to officially be in the 150's when I weigh in at the clinic.

Day 9 weigh in

160.2.... This was my weigh in at the clinic. Down 1.5 lbs from yesterday.. I stopped at jack in the box on the way home, , but I ordered grilled chicken strips and used mustard as a dipping sauce, a side salad with no dressing, and an unsweetened ice tea. Not bad, stuck to the plan kinda. Now I just have to figure out the carb count.
I am so close to the 150s. Hopefully Monday will be my day, and sometime before Thursday I will reach my mini goal.

Yay, I got in 3 ten minute moderate sessions on the elliptical today. Actually, the last session, my heart was pounding twice as fast being that it was interrupted with a 5.1 earthquake I will never get use to those things and I've lived here all my life.

Day 12 weigh in

Damn those potato chips and bean dip and Krab Louie salad and lettuce wrapped burger and... I guess that's my fault then I am UP two whole pounds the consultant said stick to my regular menu day today, get my exercise in, and drink boiled lemon water tonight, then we will see what I'm really at tomorrow... I also wore heavier clothes and didn't take off my shoes as usual, so maybe that's some of it. 2 whole pounds????

Day 13

159.9 I am out of the 160s. I didn't do the boiled lemon water last night and I actually ate out twice yesterday. First at Mimi's Cafe, I had the Asian chopped salad without wontons, everything followed the regular menu days for lindora. Later I had Waba Grill, I had a half beef, half chicken bowl, over cabbage, broccoli, and carrots, no rice. I was a little worried about the scale today, but the consultant at Lindora said Waba is a good choice for eating out. I think that might be a twice a week thing for dinner, since both my husband and 16 year old son love it.

Positive note for yesterday: my husband wanted Carls jr yesterday for dinner, so I said sure, they probably have something I can eat that's not too bad. We drove up to the menu and told the guy to give us a minute so I could decide what I wanted, turned out nothing looked like it would be guilt free, so I told my husband and he said that's ok just drive through and we will go to Waba. I did and on the way out he said "I'm glad you drove through I was about to order something really bad, I need to start eating better". Although he doesn't eat super bad, it can be improved to help his naturally high cholesterol... So, I'm glad my way of eating is helping my husband slowly jump on my bandwagon.

I put myself on a protein day today, since I was worried about the past few days. I did have really good color on my keto strip, so I probably didn't need to, but it's only a day only early and the lindora consultant didn't say anything about it when I mentioned it. I hope I can finish off this week on track, my only worry is my husband doesn't have any work booked for about a week, although his schedule is constantly changing, but if he has a whole week off, that could be really hard to stay on track. Today I am going to try to prep, by cooking a few days worth of chicken, put the salmon in the fridge so it will be thawed for tomorrow's dinner. (I always forget to thaw things and end up cooking I un-healthier meals because of it)

Day 14

159.2

I was happy with my weigh in today, but the consultant told me if I don't get out of 159 tomorrow she is going to put me on plateau menu. I don't know why this makes me nervous, I honestly don't remember what the menu was, only that it is for 3 days and I drink lemon water every night. I don't really think I've hit a plateau, I think the gain then the loss that puts me at only 1lb loss since Friday makes it look that way. I guess I will just have to stick to my weight loss menu today and see where I'm at tomorrow to see what's going on.

I am so close to meeting my 10lb in 2 weeks goal. I've got to go grocery shopping now, but I plan on getting a good cardio video in today. I've got to get my workout on.

158.6
Not quite 158.0 for today's first mini goal, but Yay! I'm at the dentist right now... Hopefully it doesn't throw my day off too much. Now, I think my next goal will be 150 by 4/21.... I think I can do it. I've got a busy weekend with family, there is something Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. All family stuff that involves food, and I really don't feel like explaining my diet, or the subtle yet nosy "oh, how much did that cost?"... So, they are going to hear I'm just cutting carbs if anyone notices. I know they don't mean anything negative, but still it's awkward and makes me feel like a big fattie trying to lose weight.... Which reminds me, I told one of my sisters about it, so I need to tell her hush hush if she shows up.... Wish me luck.

Just an update for the weekend, I'm waiting until tomorrow to see the damage on the scale.
Friday: Went to a Mexican restaurant for my MIL's birthday about 50 miles away. I had a salad with sautéed shredded beef, peppers, and onions. It also had tomatoes and avocado on it, with half a tbls of creamy italian dressing... not too bad, although I don't think I got enough water in and not enough protein throughout the day.
Saturday: Went to my nephew's graduation about 2 hours away in San Diego county. We ate at a pizzeria after. I ordered meatballs, they were covered in marinara sauce and cheese, they were soooo good, yet so bad for my diet. I also had about 4 fried jalepeno poppers.
Sunday: Went to a kids birthday party about 20 miles away (I'm glad it was close, the past couple days were soooo long). I ate mediterranean food, I had Lule, which is kinda like short ribs, and some chicken, oh yeah and a little hummus. I was trying to do just protein, but that hummus was so good. So, I think on a scale of 1 to 10 judging my eating this weekend, it was about a 7. I think I could have done a whole lot worse. I think I am going to do another protein day if the scale is bad tomorrow morning and if the clinic says its ok. I plan on drinking lemon water in about an hour.

I really want that scale to say 157.? tomorrow, I think that may just be wishful thinking.

I'm sticking to my protein day, getting at least 80oz of water down and seeing where I'm at tomorrow. I am sooo hungry today

Day 22- 3 weeks done...1st goal officially met

157.9

I met my first goal, yay!
As for the diet, I've kind of fallen off track. Yesterday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all my meals were off the approved list. I am going to stick with the program today. This is a 'free' program that was reinstated a couple years ago, I don't work now so to buy anymore it is not realistic. I really need to make the most out of the next 7 weeks.

I've found that I am more hungry when I fall off track and try to get back on the next day, I guess my body is just waiting for the extra carbs when it gets a taste.
Breakfast today was watermelon and fat free cottage cheese. I need to have my protein now, and write all this stuff down, no more guesstimating.

157.9... Yay! It's been a while, I need to change my stats and banner

Day 23

157.4

Slowly, but surely the scale is moving in the right direction. My clothes are fitting better. I think another 7-8 #s should push me into a smaller size.

I had some candy from a birthday party, my tummy isn't lovin' it right now.... I really didn't enjoy it that much, but kept eating it.

Ultra mini goal for Monday 155.9

I am so looking forward to the 140's. I graduated from college in 2005 at about 135, I'm guessing (my dad died my last year and my weight went from 125 to 'these pants are falling off' to 'i can't get them to zip up' in the couple months after). Within 6 months of getting an office job it was 145...and continued upwards to 184. So maybe in 2006 I was in the 140's... 8 years ago
