2014 will be Jeanne's time!

I am going to make this year for me. I really need to get myself fit and healthy. I will be turning 53 in August and want to feel better and look better.
So here were the first steps I took today to get going:
1) cleaned out my cabinets of all bad foods
2) cleaned out my frig of all bad foods
3) making a food list before I go shopping of all good foods ( I must do this each time)
4) trying to do a food plan. this is really hard since I live some what alone and don't cook much. (boyfriend and I built a duplex and he lives on one side and I live on the other side). Yes it works GREAT!
5) checking out my clothes, need to see what sizes I have and can wear
6) exercise??? not sure how to get more of that in. I do walk one mile each night if the weather is good, but I need more.

So this is my starting point.
Weight: 146 this morning ( after eating a bad breakfast)

Would love to hear from others..

after food shopping

so here is what I bought:
bag of mixed salad greens
hb eggs
chicken tenderloins
fish

I know it's not much but it's a start. After walking around the food store, I just gave up. I need to get better prepared.

for lunch today:
grilled chicken tenderloins (2) in coconut oil with butter
bowl of mixed salad greens with hb eggs (2)
calorie free & carb free salad dressing

it was good, but not enough, I am still hungry...

first time for no dessert... it was hard but I feel so much better for not giving in..

Day one is done!

Sunday Morning

my scale said: 145 this morning.

I am feeling good about today. Had my one cup of coffee (that is my limit). Took out a piece of fish to thaw for lunch today. Looks like breakfast will be chicken and salad with HB eggs.

Plan to keep busy, need to clean, having my sister and brother coming next week for a visit. Would like to take a walk as well.

Oh and I am between jobs again, start my new job 2/25 and looking forward to it. But need to get a few pounds off so I can fit into some of my pants!!!

feeling pumped up today..
Breakfast looks to be chicken and some salad.

Have to go this morning and get 4 new tires put on, so this should tie up part of my day. Have to also get a few things at the store. Once home, I will get some more cleaned done for the family visit this week.

Need to figure out what to eat with my fish each day.

Sandy the fish cooked in coconut oil is so good and makes your house smell good too!

Hi Jeanne, thank you for your lovely comment on my blog. You're doing so well with the weightloss, congrats!

Your fish in coconut oil and butter sounds rather interesting, I'll have to try it myself!

Monday afternoon

So I had to go and get 4 new tires put on and front brakes. It took what seems liked forever (3 hrs). By the time I got out of there I was so hungry. But I did not stop at fast food. I went to the store and got me some salami and cream cheese. Waited till I got home to eat and drank lots of water. Going to start doing some cleaning since I sat for 3 hrs at the car place.

Dinner: Fish

Good or Bad????

so I am sitting here after eating some grapes and a banana and wondering if these were good choices. I know they are not junk food nor did I eat to many.
But I feel so guilty for eating them and then looking up the carb count. Need to find a list of fruit I can have and put on frig(fast).

Still having fish for dinner which I know is a good choice...

Stopping by to say good morning....I don't know a thing about Judd, I will have to look it up, but I am sure you are doing well, and it would have been so easy for you to stop at a fast food place after waiting all those hours for your car, so well done. I am loving the coconut oil by the way, it is amazing. Have a great day.

Morning Sandy, glad you are enjoying the Coconut Oil..
Judd is good, you rotate calories up one day and down the next. Not really doing that yet. just trying to cut carbs and calories right now.

I am so pleased for you that the scale is moving, it sounds like you are doing really well, it helps me when I keep reading on everyones journal that the scale does move lol, it is motivating....
Have fun with your family, it sounds like you are definitely prepared, let me know how it goes.
I love that coconut oil so much that this evening I figured out how to make that chocolate bark....oh my gosh it is so good, have you tried it yet....although not sure how much that will cause a stall, but I was just trying to get more coconut oil into my diet....ok well that's my excuse lol.

Hi Jeanne, you're doing great! You mentioned you don't use your oven because it heats up the place - have you tried a slow cooker? It gets barely warm on the outside, and you can put all kind of roasts including chicken in there, and it's even better for stews and casseroles.
Keep up the good work!

Wednesday evening

Thanks for stopping by Sandy, I have not tried the choc bark, is it really good?

Larissima, yes I do have a crock pot, but I don't have many recipes for it. Maybe I should see if I can find some. Do you have any good ones??

as for eating today: I started out great, even at Cracker Barrel. I had the children's portion of grilled chicken and green beans, but then I ate one biscuit and then one choc chip cookie. I do hope that this does not mess me up. I think I ate early enough that if I keep moving tonight I might just work off the junk I ate.

I still have tons of house cleaning before my family gets here tomorrow, so I will get busy and stay busy this evening..

Oh and drinking lots of water tonight as well.. maybe this will help too....

I will let you know tomorrow how to make that chocolate bark, it was so easy to do, I researched about 37 pages making notes of everyones mistakes before I tried it and it came out perfect, just like real chocolate, the only difference is that it melts quicker...but that was all....but I guess you probably won't have time with your family coming....so that's why I am leaving it till tomorrow, and then you can refer back to it when they have gone....its lovely having family down to visit, I am sure you will enjoy every single second of it......

Happy Thursday....chocolate Bark for when you have time....
3tbsp coconut oil
2tsp cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp. cream

Heat coconut oil in microwave until hot, beat in other ingredients, throw in freezer 30 min.

My regular crockpot recipe that I use is...
Any meat thrown in with 2 chopped tomatoes, and then about 2 hours before its ready
to eat I throw in....1 leek, 1 onion, a handful of green beans, a handful of mushrooms, celery, peppers, garlic, and I love spicy so I always throw in a chopped chilli pepper.

We had this last night and used steak, just the cheap kind, it was really good....anyway have fun with your family.....

I know the cookie and biscuit would hurt.. Can't do that again, at least not for a while..

Sandy, I can make the bark, I have all these items in my house now!!!

Oh and I love tomatoes, but not leeks, or any type of onions or peppers. But I am sure I can make some type of meat taste good, right???

Family should be here around dinner time today, can't wait.. it's been a little over 2 years since we have gotten together.

How is your scale moving???

In a few days I am going to look into Judd as I did a bit of research on it after you mentioned it and was surprised to see people are losing weight having up and down days, then I want to look into intermittent fasting, not sure if that is part of judd but I think it might be kind of....anyway its nice to have you back again, we can all do with as much support as we can get lol, all that cleaning and washing is going to kick start your weight again as well lol.
