Ok so I have started tracking and oh my goodness I thought I was being good, but it turns out yesterdays food came to 44 carbs...I do tend to overeat on veggies but didn't realize I was eating quite so much, the day before was over 60 carbs....it nearly blew my mind, I re did it all at least twice and double checked everything but nope it was right....
Soooo from this morning I have been entering everything, and as it is just about dinner time here in the uk I have entered todays dinner and I am at

Calories 1012 carbs 20

So my carbs are better but I would like to get the calories down a little bit so I will work on that one tomorrow.....what a fun learning experience this is, after grocery shopping today I had time to sit and play with all these numbers, I have never done anything like this before....so lets see if it works lol.

I think its age that has done this.....so everything needs to be watched.

So it works.....thanks again Susan for pointing me in the right direction, I could have been at this forever....changing plans....tweaking etc etc....

Well today is beach day, but we are going to explore a bit more of the island and find somewhere different to go.....the sun is shining whoop whoop.

Ok copying Susan to keep myself accountable..which is an incredible idea to do it the same day as it lets me know what I have had and not to have anything else....lol it works.

Todays stats after all food has been eaten for the day.

665 Calories 21.9 Carbs

So I managed to get my calories lower, that was easyish....the hardest thing is keeping the carbs low....I have spent the last hour weighing bits of onions, red peppers and mushrooms to oven bake them....in the end had to forgo the onion lol as it would have cost me another 10 carbs...def not worth it.

Had an incredible day at the beach, didn't go exploring in the end as we couldn't find the map, so just did our usual walk to sandown and stopped for a diet coke..it was lovely watching the dogs run through the little waves though...now we are all tired out and happy.

2 pounds in 2 days....and to get out of the awful 160's which I never ever want to see ever again in my whole life lol.
Susan you are right, writing it down after dinner totally stops me from wanting anything else at all....gosh this wasn't even hard...I am in total total shock....you have actually found something that works for people who are stuck...and also it seems to work quicker.
So glad I finally had a lightbulb moment from you lol....I need to get my first coffee to wake up lol but had to post on here first as I am so totally happy.....

Good job on the calories and carbs! It does work but I find if I don't keep myself distracted with a chore or something, my mind goes to food! Imagine that! I will survive though and stay the course!

I try not to eat in the morning but try to go as long as I can and then around 12 ish have been eating a minute muffin made with flax, which works out to 134 calories and 4 carbs, that seems to really fill me up until 5.30 dinner time, so then I get more calories and carbs for my dinner....its been a total learning experience though counting calories and carbs....I couldn't believe I could get more mushrooms with my dinner for the carb count to be lower than if I were to have onions lol.
I think one of the days for dinner I had 3 sausages which were pork and leek but quite low in calories and carbs, then trying to figure out what to have with it lol....I ended up with a cup of roasted red peppers and 140grams of mushrooms, wasn't sure if it really went together lol, but it was so tasty and filling.
Last night I had smoked haddock with salad.
Today I am cooking hubby a lamb casserole in the crock pot....so I am not sure if I will just take some meat out and have it with my own weighed veggies....its a bit confusing to know how many calories and carbs will be in it....or I could have a basic egg salad....confused at the moment lol.

Well that nasty little thing called carb flu caught up with me again, I recognized it slightly yesterday but today have felt quite yuk, just shaky and tired mainly, so I have had a nap to help myself feel better and decided to stay in for the day...I have been drinking stock cubes or whatever they are called, I just hope the salt in them doesn't slow down my weight, but someone told me that they help put minerals or something back in your body....the chicken cubes I had were lovely, very warming and soothing when you feel a bit under the weather....still hopefully it will all be gone in the morning......I have decided to have the lamb out of the crock pot as it smells so amazing but am going to weigh what I am having so can work out the calories etc, and then I am going to roast my own veggies to go with it so I wont go over carbs or calories.....it is a pain but it is so worth it.

Susan ...just a thought...have fish and salad for dinner tonight, no matter what...that always makes my scales move....thank you for letting me catch up...but now we have to lose it together....a pound at a time....lol....I am definitely doing a salad tonight, with chicken I think, just to make sure the scales move again....

That's a good idea to have salad tonight! I have left over lemon mustard chicken breast - and since I have my hair appt tonight, I could chop it up and throw it over some salad mix before I go. DH can re-heat his own dinner !

Hair appointment....lucky you, I love going as well, I am not due for another month but it is a nice treat being spoiled.

So a note to myself just in case I go through this again....carb flu has gone, so it only lasted for two days, I did absolutely nothing all day yesterday, just caught up on emails and did lazy things, also took a nap which backfired as last night could not get to sleep....anyway back on track today...off to the beach for a very long walk along the sand with a diet coke as reward when I get to the next small towns beach....also no cleaning as one of the days this week we are getting rain so I am saving all my jobs for the rainy day, have to make the most of this weather as it feels like its been a long winter.

Had an amazingly long walk this afternoon, its nice to have energy again after the nasty day yesterday of carb flu, I also found some great hills to walk up lol...I must be mad but it felt good....just about to have dinner...so today stats are.
