Happy for you! Sometimes my days are JUDD-like, but I haven't committed to the plan. My scale is not working this morning....gotta check the batteries.

I think it is fun when you find that plan that is really working and making you excited at the same time....I love that I don't eat as much for I know I really am not hungry for all of my plate...I just eat until I feel full ...set there rest of it away from me...I love that no over stuffed feeling anymore...

Happy for you girl...

Well I expected my weight to have gone up this morning as yesterday was an UP Day, so that was surprising...and I ate so much, or at least it felt like I ate a lot.

B Orange and one whole Mango
L Apple & Berry Desert Yogurt, small chocolate bar that I found in the fridge lol, and small bowl of cashews
D Beef Chili
Cornetto strawberry ice cream Really not eating to healthy I think lol, but I had to get my calories in and that's my excuse.

Thanks Susan Judy and Mary for your support, it is appreciated, I hope we all have a great day today, at least here the sun is out now and the rain has gone away so hopefully a good walk on the beach with the dogs, yesterday I spoiled them and brought them a ton of new toys so they thought it was Christmas..

Today is my Down Day and I am really looking forward to eating a bit less as I still feel stuffed from yesterday.

I wish I could take a trip to the Californian coast Mary, that sounds so lovely, would that be far away from where you live now.
Our walk today lasted for just under three hours, we walked from our beach to the next town, most of it is sand though so it was nice, and we found a tea room just by the beach which would have been nice if I hadn't forgotten my sweetener for my coffee and of course they had run out the day before, so I had to have sugar which I panicked about lol, anyway the dogs had a good day and so did we, and it took my mind off it being a down day and not to many calories, tomorrow is my up day and I am going to have 3 glasses of red wine....

I am really excited that in the next three days I will see the 150's again yahoo.

Hi Imgonadoit....I wondered where you were lol.....I have never counted calories in my life so for me I have found it a real eye opener, I don't think I would have done it a few years ago when I was working and the kids were still at home, but low carb was making me feel blah so I was thankful I found this....anyway I will be stopping by your journal to see what you are up to now.

Mary I will check out the squash recipe thanks for posting it, I know this sounds mad but what did it taste like, I guess it might be like asking what an orange tastes like lol....
Really...only 6 hours and you are in California wow that is awesome, definitely worth popping there now and again isn't it....what I wouldn't give to wake up and put shorts and a t shirt on lol but at least there is no rain here again today.

Sandy! You are getting good results from JUDDD! Are you counting carbs? Or just calories? I can't seem to wrap my head around "not counting carbs". I need to start doing something different, but don't know what that "different" thing is just yet .

Susan..I am just counting calories, 1,681 on my up days which I struggle with as it feels like to many calories but I finally figured out that if I eat ice cream it puts my calories up or wine adds a fair few lol, and then down days I stick to 500, my first down day was easy, my second down day yesterday I found a bit harder so took myself off for a walk which helped, but I have stocked up on low calorie foods which helps....the one thing that is driving me a bit nutty is the increased energy kind of restless feeling like I need to go running or something, I don't know where that is coming from but I am finding it hard to sit still, I actually enjoy being a bit lazy so I am not sure I like it much as weird as that sounds.
I really wanted to start eating more fruits, salads and get back into juicing again, but our weather doesn't help much doing that right now, so that's why I decided to try judd, I felt like if I left myself to my own devices I would put to much weight on so I have to be on something lol......

I'm so happy that you are liking JUDDDD! I tried it before but ate way to much on my up days. I remember being so cold on my down days. I may have to revisit though...I would love that extra energy that you have!

Keep up the good work! I love reading your journal!

Hi Becky, I didn't know you had done judd before, I agree with the cold bit, last night I was freezing and had my bed piled up so high I am sure if anyone had come in the room they wouldn't have seen me lol.....I find the up days amazing, I am still weighing everything just to make sure I am on track but so far have come out with more calories to play with which is why I started to drink red wine....tonight I have wine and ice cream it will be sad to see those scales up in the morning but I have to get used to the up and down daily on the scale as that's how judd seems to work.
The extra energy I managed to get rid of thankfully and feel more relaxed at the moment, I scrubbed and cleaned the bathroom and kitchen and then went a long walk around town, so thankfully it seems to have gone....I actually didn't like it, it felt like a bit to much energy to be normal if you know what I mean....

Well I am not sure the scale should have gone up as much as it did, so now I am curious as to how much it will be down tomorrow....I love playing with new things....I am keeping a journal of what I am eating so maybe it needs tweaking a bit, I will see next week when I have enough days under my belt.
Today is my down day and I have it all written out what I am going to be eating but thankfully I'm not hungry yet, I have read its better to try and get as far into the day as I can before eating.

Jeanne....The only way I can control the down days at dinner is by buying a frozen weight watchers dinner otherwise I would want what my hubby is having, I find one of them fills me up for a few hours but then save enough calories to have a low cal snack before bed, I would hate to go to bed hungry.

Mary....Hope your cross stitch is going well, what is the picture of.

You are so focused! You will find the perfect numbers to follow in order to see the scale go down. Keep writing things down so you can review and reflect on what's working !

Good luck with JUDDD, Sandy, you seem to be doing well on it! When I tried it in the past (well, the 5:2), I realised that I also need to look at carbs, not just calories. That's because the carbs I was eating on up days made me eat more and more. But I have a disordered metabolism and a good few stones more than you, so that's my own problem. I know a lot of people for whom the 5:2 worked great, and still does as maintenance.

Well yesterday was my down day....and it started off great until about dinner time...my dinner was the right amount of calories but I was starving, so hungry I wanted to eat the silly box it came in lol.....so I ate some low calorie snacks and went to bed early.
It wouldn't be so bad if I saw the scale going down.
So for the next few days I am going to do some juicing and eat some of my salads.....I know I know it seems I can't stick to anything.....I have such motivation to get this weight off but low carb makes me feel yuk and judd makes me hungry and obsessive over food.....I just want to eat nice normal food and be an ok weight.....so fruit for me and salads yet again......

You are doing very well! You maintained! Don't beat yourself up over not seeing a drop everyday. Gosh, look at me ...... staying the same all week and I've been really good about consuming less and less for 3 days in a row! You will find harmony in your way of eating - we all will!

7th March 161.8 Decided to come off JUDD
8th March 160.0 whoop whoop

Finally 160......

So I kept my calories lowish but ate all day....even though I ate all day I managed to keep my calories just under 900, so my experiment is going to be, will my body go into starvation mode because my calories are low, or....because I ate all day does it kind of trick it.....well I guess I will see....I had enough low calorie food in the house that I ate fruit, crackers, yogurts all day, then had steak with roasted onions garlic peppers and mushrooms for dinner, then had a skinny cow ice cream at 9pm....unreal my calories came in so low and I felt full all day....I wish I could have stuck with judd but on the down days I was to hungry....I can't cope with being hungry anymore for some reason, I think when I was younger and really busy food didn't bother me so much, but these days I feel hunger and don't like it lol....anyway we will see how I get on...the most important thing is that I am doing something and not just giving up....just after Christmas I was 167, so I guess at least I am 7 down from Christmas time.....downwards I will go for definite come hell or high water.......
Thanks Susan....I always think we have only failed if we don't try...so we are amazing.
Larissima....Thanks for your support, yes it was to easy to eat on the up days....definitely not for me but at least I gave it a shot.

Sandy, glad to see the scale moving for you. Everyone is so different, that what works for one does not work for others. I hope to get back with counting calories this week.. That might be all I need to do to get my scale moving.

Well Done! I am so proud of you!

Guess what? I'm at 160.8 this morning! We are on a roll now baby!

It only works for me if I log everything I put in my mouth into a tracker. So I have to continue to do that. I wanted a popsicle last night, but didn't have any. Will be picking some up today at the grocery store. There is a very low calorie/low carb brand that I found last summer. Can't remember the name, but I can see the box in my mind!

Keep up the good work and I hope the sun is shining on your little Isle today!

Thanks Jeanne....you are right we are all so different and what suits one person doesn't suit another, I think its great that we all support each other no matter what the other person is doing, I think that's why I love this site so much, there is never any criticism only support and motivation from everyone, I hope you figure out what is going to make you feel happy and see those numbers going down....sometimes all we can do is keep trying...

Whoop whoop Susan, now that gave me a big smile....we are definitely on a roll now, it was only reading some of your journal that made me figure this out, I don't know how many journals I have read over the past few days lol, but seeing you cut calories ages ago and watching the numbers go down I thought I would have a go....so I am logging all my food into a tracker and keeping as low as I can without going hungry....the popsicles we have over here are called skinny cow and are 94 calories, and they are a really good size, I am starting to look forward to having one every night lol.....yhea for us.....and let it continue....

Yay Sandy!! You are doing great! Congrats on hitting 160! That must be very motivating!
You are so right...each of us has to find what works best for our own body. We're all so different. I'm so glad JUDDD is working for you! Have a great Saturday!

Does the UK participate in Daylight Savings Time? Tonight before we go to bed we set out clocks forward an hour...we'll lose that hour of sleep...but it will make it sunny until around 8PM which is nice so the kids can play outside longer. Then in October we set our clocks back that hour.

Hi Becky...no I stopped doing judd...the down days were to hard, I am just counting calories right now and it seems to be working.
That is cool that you are putting the clocks forward as then I will only be three hours in front of you all instead of four lol.....ours go forward at the end of March, I love it when that happens and it stays lighter for longer.

Oh Sandy You go girl. woop woop! Your doing it right honey . Don't worry about bounceing that happens about every other day. You just have to get use to it. You are doing great. It is finally getting warmer here 54 yesterday. Snow is almost gone. Easter flowers are about 1in. above dirt today. So it must be true there really is a spring. I was beginning to think we just had winter for 6 months. Yesterday the sun felt so good. We had no wind which helped. Keep going girl.

Thanks Judy for the support....yesterday I was at about 900 calories but it honestly felt like I didn't stop eating, I guess I am eating low cal food and fruit which helps, I also had a couple of glasses of red wine yum yum.
So glad to hear you have sunshine as well, isn't it lovely, today we actually drove with the top down on the car and it was heavenly, it cheers us all up when that sun shines doesn't it....roll on the nice hot weather.
