Poor DH! He is worried that you will waste away to nothing! lol Eat some lettuce to make him happy! Bless his heart!

Plant nabber! Ha! I've done the same thing! Can't help myself. I love the beauty of nature and all its splendid flowers. I go to plant nurseries just to look at the beauty of it all and I'm happy. My garden friends and I call it "having a plantgasm" ! We are very satisfied afterwards. LOL

Totally in my element surrounded by seedlings and plants lol...have you ever tried cuttings Susan...I love messing around with things like that, the last time I tried was in Canada...I had brilliant success with lilac bushes, never got rose bushes to work though, but I am having another go this year....I am going to try cuttings of everything lol.

I have tried just about everything when it comes to plants and gardening. Lots of failures, but it does not deter me. I've even done "worm composting".

My favorite place to shop is Lowes (hardware store, plants, etc.) My family knows to buy me gift cards to such places or just give me bags of dirt! I love to build field stone garden walls for my flower beds.

My latest accomplishment was to pull a small lilac sucker from my grandmother's lilac bush, pot it up and see it successfully make it through the winter. It has leafed out beautifully! I want to keep it potted until it is large enough for the yard and pass it on to my daughter for her yard. My grandmother's farm was sold last year after her death at age 105. She had been in the nursing home for about 10 years prior and the sale of the farm was needed to pay for the cost of the nursing home. It is now an organic vegetable farm and we are pleased that it is still "growing food" instead of becoming a housing development. I grew up within walking distance of Granny's, so it holds a special place in my heart.

That was so lovely taking a cutting of your grandmothers lilac bush, I love hearing things like that, and the pleasure you must have gotten watching it survive the winter...well done. Wouldn't it be lovely if your daughter took cuttings for her children when they grow up and have their own places.
How amazing that your grandmother lived until 105, and so nice that the farm is now an organic vegetable farm, that was lovely to read, it would have been sad if it had been turned into a housing development...
Lol gift cards or bags of dirt I am so with you on that, but worm composting lol, you have me beat, I do love my worms though lol, what an amazing thing to do, its fun trying out different things isn't it, there is always something to do in the garden thank goodness.

Well my weight this morning is still 148.2 today will be day number 4 of staying the same weight....so don't laugh but in my head I am stalled lol.
So dh wins and this weekend I am going to eat salad with some kind of meat or fish and some fruit....and back on the wagon on Monday....but I thought I would let you all know so that when that scale goes up and up you will know why lol, I expect I will be 150 by Monday, but I won't eat anything else bad like nuts or bread etc.....

You're not going to gain because of lettuce! It may be a good thing and you will see a drop on the scale and then you will be giving a big ole smooch to DH!
I'm the same and will be trying to drop a few during the next week by having lettuce, meat and eggs. Calorie Counting is going to be a topic on the news this morning! Can't wait to hear all about it!

The jist was: Get your calories from lean protein and from fiber. No junk calories like 100 calorie pack of cookies, etc. Alot of food companies are losing sales from low calorie junk items, diet sodas, Lean Cuisine, etc. People are choosing to eat more low calorie whole foods. Bottom line: calories in/calories out for weight loss (although lots of folks on LCF would not agree with this). I know I have to watch calories for success.

Oops I may have just started a war in another blog...may have to lay low over here a bit...lol
I quoted the guy on the eating academy in response to another that said we must all exercise to x degree.
I really fault the professionals(Dr's & Dieticians) who can't decide on diet & exercise.
I really think one size does not fit all here....we expend kcals differently.
What do you ladies think?

CONGRATULATION JULIE....That is a nice big whoosh lol...whoop whoop, I am so happy for you.
Lol on starting a war...I kept doing that on the April challenge, I finally gave it up a few days ago as I kept getting myself into trouble.....
I agree the professionals are all over the place...look what they are saying about saturated fat these days....they are always changing their mind or not agreeing about what are the right things to eat for the body.....I am sure whatever you said was ok, just keep going back and having a peek lol......its amazing though that even online people can really stress us out, its happened to me a few times lol.
I definitely agree one size doesn't fit all, I can see that when everyone is doing different things and its not working for them, but it works for others.
you are knowledgeable in low carb etc and from your own personal experience....I am sure its not going to cause a storm....because you are right....lol.

Well done again on that lovely whoosh today, I am so so happy for you .....

What a lovely eating day I have had today....hubby is happy, I ate lots of fruit and vegetables.....I will do this again for one more day before I go back on plan....at least its getting a lot of food obsessions out of the way before I start again, not that I have had anything really bad, just wholesome regular food, shame about my scale weight in the morning though, I will be weighing with my eyes closed lol.

Holy Cow ! Sandy ! You beat me on the carb consumption when I ate that pizza! Maybe you will just maintain your weight! Wouldn't that be nice. But it would certainly be perplexing.

Julie - Congrats on your loss! I wish I would have one soon. I'll try to be patient. I agree with you that every person needs to find their own path with weight loss. One diet does not fit all! And I also agree that some LCF members can be very opinionated at times. I tend to stay away from the Main Low Carb threads. I'm loving our little group !

Drum Roll Please

Yesterday 148.2

Today 149.4 Lol....and it made me laugh.... hubby is certainly not getting a smootch from me lol...funny.....so one more day of doing this will bring me just over 150 which is where I will start again....but my mood is good, I am still feeling thinner, one more day won't kill me.
Funny though how it takes days to get one pound off and one day to put it back on lol.

I can't believe its only 8am in the morning and the sun is shining already, hopefully its going to be a lovely day.

Susan I can't believe I beat you on the pizza carbs that made me laugh.....

Julie really awesome stats woman....fingers crossed for you...you might just stay the same today as you lost yesterday...but you never know lol.

Oh My Goodness! At least it made you laugh. What did DH say?
It proves the point that carbs are the enemy. It took me 3 days to recover.
149.8 today. It is crazy crazy that it takes so long to get rid of the extra weight, but so easy to accumulate it. Just get your carbs from lettuce today. Glad you still feel thin and that the sun is shining brightly for you!

Hi Sandy/Garden/Judy
Down .3 today so happy for any movement in the downward direction!
Taking out 'all' sugar alcohols - this is my latest goal... I found it
in my toothpaste & mouthwash of all things. I believe its the suspect
in my heart flutters at night when I go to bed...

I just know you ladies are having a whoosh soon!!!

MIA due to:
Lots of spring work to do today...
Planting my flower garden in the back, cleanup of yard.
I am a big gardener in season, DH just mows lawn and moves
heavy stuff with the boys. We still have trees down in the
back yard from Sandy they need to clear.

Also going to try a old (from Mom) homemade summer sausage recipe
with lamb and hamburger, no carb of course...
I got some of her cookbooks after she passed.
So many carb recipes in this book!
But remember enjoying this recipe...

Julie....yhea you still had a loss that is brilliant, this is definitely suiting your body isn't it....can you imagine if you had a loss everyday how motivating that would be....fingers crossed that you do no matter how small, it just helps keep us going.
Love it that you were gardening, it is the most relaxing thing in the world even though you get dirty lol, and with the sun shining it is awesome, I love gardening, today after shopping I planted some cosmos and batchelor button seeds....I have re discovered playing with seeds so am having fun, I will do anything to be out in the sunshine.
Your new recipe sounds lovely, I can't imagine lamb and hamburger together, when you get time one of the days can you share the recipe, I love trying new things out....when we were in Canada summer sausage was a kind of luncheon meat so I think I have gotten confused lol......

My family used sausage as luncheon meat...they were pretty liberal in its use...

I am planting cucumbers and salad greens (container tomatoes later) Just love the fresh taste of these...

I love the cosmos and bachelor buttons!! Planted those last year.
I love all colors in the garden. This year I am planting one of my
Mom's favorites - petunia. One of my favorites being planted are marigold - all colors of yellow, red & orange, then a flower garden mix.

I will post the lamb&hamburger recipe. I was thinking I'd make
it a Greek flavor. Have you had a gyro??
Its a nice mix of flavors. I'll let you know how it fares.
I was thinking it would be nice to have on dinners where
I'm not inclined to cook... Stores in freezer too.

I hate that fluttering thing going on with our hearts....I get it every time I am going into ketosis and then for a few weeks afterwards and then it goes away again, do you think it could be because you are going into deep ketosis now, or have you ever noticed it before when you have been on lc in the first few days....or do you think it really is related to sugar alcohols...anyway I hope it stops for you soon as I totally hate it....it has kept me awake a lot of nights....thankfully mine stopped.
I have never ever grown cucumbers and salad veg, only chillies and tomatoes, how exciting Julie, it must be lovely eating your own food, its something we keep talking about though lol.

Hmm.. you maybe on to something.
This is sometime that irritates me so much I am willing to change my diet.
I am on no medication so I can't think what... But now that you say this
I remember going off LC and eating corn flakes and just later, (within 5 min!)
I felt the same flutter... It really bothered/alarmed me. I looked it up and
found out the sugar or carbs was quite high in corn flakes and the fluttering
was common among other's responses.

Don't you agree tomatoes and even chillies are much better fresh?
Yum!

Going back to the heart flutters, I even looked into msg's and switched to decaf coffee, decaf coke, decaf tea lol,
I did some research on it as well as it was taking me a long time to get to sleep, I read that msg in some foods can cause this also, I wrote myself a list out to remind me.
Tuna, bacon, ham, lunchmeats, frozen burgers, mayo, ketchup, processed cheeses, frozen meals, pre made soups, chips.....just a thought that it could be msg's....to be honest I don't know what made mine stop, mine started when I started lcarbing and was going through induction flu, and then it went away, when I re started the diet it happened again and then went away, but I switched to decaf everything as it drove me mad, especially at night time when everything is quiet, it seemed worse then.
you could try switching to decaf everything, try googling heart palpations and msg, its amazing what comes up, and what they are adding to our food, scary really.

Oh yes definitely tomatoes and chillies are better fresh, I love warm tomatoes, and we smother everything in chillies...
