Sandy - you are doing great....you encourage us all ...

Down .4 today....Hope I can keep this up... Just following the meat only with a 1/2c lettuce and some coconut oil. I do like this diet because I do not feel hungry and am not counting calories but do watch carbs. Last night I did test ketones, and they were high...yeah this was a mini goal of mine, since I took a break on 4/1. Now almost a week later total loss is 2lbs.
I'll keep this up as long as possible...

Sandy, you really know how to put your feelings into words! It is a "cliff hanging" experience isn't it! We have the right mindset about this and will continue to move downward because of it. Great job on holding that number!
My stomach was talking to me yesterday while I was outside, so I told it to be quiet! I'm in charge here! LOL

Julie oh my gosh.....another .4.......incredible going....I do love it when those scales move everyday, it is so motivating isn't it......I am down to two cups of lettuce and just meat and eggs now to also try to keep those carbs really low lol....anything to get those scales to keep moving, tonight its fish for me so hope to see a loss tomorrow on those scales.....look at us go lol....I have read so many threads all over this board over the last few days and I swear we are losing quicker than a lot of challenges....we totally rock lol.

Susan we will keep hanging onto that cliff by our fingernails lol, just don't let go....I love it when my stomach talks to me as I think I might lose weight the next day lol.

Todays Stats

547 Calories Carbs 5

Well that's roughly about what I had yesterday but it seemed like I ate more meat yesterday whereas today I have had more cheese....I guess its swings and roundabouts....I am finding my two cups of salad with dinner are just enough with my meat/fish to fill me up, I found a lovely mix of lettuce etc that has different colours and different textures so that is helping.....so here am I hanging on the cliff edge still and tomorrow hope to be further away from the edge....fingers are crossed...I am going to be terrified again in the morning lol....I need to get away from the edge so I can relax....I think I will relax more when I am at around 148 point something.....I think poor hubby will be glad as well lol.
Today was dreary and raining, so no beach walk and dh walked the dogs....I did go and pick up a volunteer form today as its something I have been thinking about doing....I still haven't made my mind up though....but at least I have the form lol. so I made an effort.

Ah thanks Julie....don't know what I would do without you all.....keeping it a bit interesting is half the battle, the other day I discovered chicken thighs....I don't ever remember having them before but I read somewhere that they have more fat etc....and so I brought them.....oh my goodness they were amazing, I brought more today to eat tomorrow....my new favourite food lol...have no idea why I have never brought them before, I think because they are fattier they had more taste.

Julie love the little cat, how did you do that......oh and did you go to see that opera kind of thing you were going to see...how was it...

I am amazed at the calories in cheese though....unless I am working it out wrong, 3 ounces of cheddar cheese has around 342 calories....I nearly died of shock...I will still keep putting some on my lettuce but maybe not so much.

Well it is gone 9 here so time to chill and watch Game of Thrones which I missed last night, its not normally my kind of program I don't think but dh has gotten me addicted lol.

Sandy,
I love chicken thighs. I cooked some Sunday night at 500 for about 45 minutes...very juicy---yummy!!

I did a search on hang in there, google, copied the link. then selected insert image, pasted link in... There maybe a space limit...not sure what...

For some reason I have to be really careful on cheese... Dairy doesn't always agree with me....sad because I love it...

Ok just found this...pasting it in to remind me.
If you are working hard to keep your carbs at or below 50 grams per day, your insulin levels will be low and your glucagon high. The doors of your fat cells will be open and fat can easily come out to be burned. But if you’re throwing back a few ounces of cheese or nuts (or both) here and there, you’re going to be providing your body with enough fat to meet all its energy needs with some left over. And your weight loss will come to a screeching halt.
The low-carb diet is a wonderful, healthful way to lose weight quickly, but you do have to watch your calories as well to a certain extent. If you’re plugging along losing away, keep doing what you’re doing. But if you quit losing, take a look at your cheese and/or nut consumption. Cut those out, and I’ll just about guarantee that your weight loss will pick up again.

Ok def cutting cheese down quite a bit, I was just reading Dr Eades.

Julie....really...you like chicken thighs as well lol....they are so good, I wish I had known about them ages ago...I could eat tons of them, but won't lol....thanks for letting me know how to do that picture, I will have a go in the morning when I am awake more....ten thirty here....I think I am five hours ahead of the others, but you always post your weight quite early so I think you might be closer in hours, either that or you get up in the night lol....
At least you have something to look forward to on Wednesday now, I have never been to anything like that before, it sounds different.
Well I think I am going to have an early night...its either that or I am going to eat everything in my fridge, or the easter eggs I have in the cupboard for all the grandchildren lol.....yep I should definitely go to bed lol....see you in the morning.

Sandy - We are having chicken thighs tomorrow night for dinner. They are my DH's favorite part of the chicken. We had a soft rain all day today. It will make the grass green up. And I got caught up on the inside chores that I ignored for 3 sunny days. I agree with cutting out nuts and cheese. I love both! And can't stop once I start to eat either one. Everything is crossed for tomorrows "scale watch"! Stay away from those poor grandkids' Easter eggs!!!

Its funny I was so grateful to see that number yesterday....and now today I am annoyed with it lol.....I think my scale is lying to me...I even got on it twice and told it No.....I even feel thinner....grrrrr.... I know I should be grateful that it hasn't gone up....I know it will probably go down tomorrow....but I feel like a child who wants to jump up and down on the floor as I want the new number today not tomorrow lol.
Ok off to sulk into my coffee....laughing at myself lol.

I'm awake Sandy! Disappointed too! Only down 4 oz after such a good day yesterday. But I'll be good today too. I haven't had cheese in quite a while, only the occasional shredded parmesan (1 tblsp) on top of salad. Light Mozzarella Sticks might be a better choice for you. Some are only 50 calories.
Weight Watcher's especially. Don't know if you can get them over there though. I found single serving guacamole 90 cal with 5 carbs in the deli section of the grocery store. Great for portion control. Put it over my salad last night. Love guacamole! Well, kiddos are back today so I'll be entertained by their curiosity and silliness!

I'm not going to eat the skin to keep the calories lower. (They will be baked with the skin on though.)

Jeanne, what I couldn't believe was the price of them...they are soooo cheap but so yummy, not as dry as chicken breast which I think is all I have had....you def could do them in the crock pot, I wish it was to hot here to cook, we had sun for ten minutes and now its playing hide and seek.

Garden...I take any lose any day...still in downward...
Sandy hang in there we've all been where you are....

I was worried when I did my ketone test I was a little lower on my reading than Sunday, but happy today because
I lost 1.1lbs YAHOO
Trying to keep a steady downward trend...
Last time I was 3lbs lower and I stalled...
I have sometime before that though....

Hi Sandy! Looks like we're all on a chicken thigh kick....I made them for dinner last night and plan on eating the leftovers tonight. They're definitely my favorite part of the chicken, so juicy! It looks like everyone is still going strong. I haven't weighed since getting home Sunday but plan on it tomorrow morning. Hope I didn't do any damage while I was away...ugh.

Stats for today..... Oh dear not good

Well the eating part was good....hard boiled egg and 4 chicken thighs with no skin.

My egg which I weighed was 90 Calories.....I think around 90 or 100 for the chicken so I will go with 90 lol......

Calories 450 if I have worked it out right.....Carbs might be 0 I think

But then dh got offered a really good job today....we are supposed to be retired lol and enjoying life, but this job was a bit to good for him to turn down, he has been thinking about it all day long, and an hour ago decided to take it....so we are having a drink to celebrate....well he is celebrating....I am just drinking lol....I had our summer all planned out so I think I am a bit shell shocked to be honest.....my favourite saying is 'Nothing ever stays the same' .....anyway so not to ramble on to much but now I am having a few drinks with him lol....possible three, and am trying my hardest to be excited for him, at the end of the day I guess its more money for me to spend lol...that's the only thing I can come up with for now.
Sorry guys for going on about personal stuff....I love my little journal where I can have a ramble though.
hope everyone's stats are good.

Sandy - 450 cals with 0 carb, sounds pretty good to me...
& personal stuff, share away... Sending your way... And I will say
I do love to spend money... But its a change...
If I don't have encouraging words the other ladies are good at it...
I've been reading - they are good...

So far, the coffee change, I think has been the best I've done...its
the last thing I had to give up I really loved from my pre-lc lifestyle.

my stats
cal 1,178 fat 87.9 carbs 3.5 prot 91.1

Julie your little emoticoms really made me burst out laughing....especially the one next to the word change lol, the little guy looks so confused lol which is how I felt today....so funny, thank you for that, I totally love laughing...I guess I don't like change to much anymore, and I got used to having him home, he only retired a year ago and is now 60, he is mad going back to work but he is pretty perfect lol, it will all be fine, I think it was all just a shock lol...

So have you given coffee up...or are you using the almond milk, even though I can only drink decaf I can't imagine giving coffee up....
Did you smile all day lol....

Sandy - it might be lonely for you when DH goes back to work! My DH has been retired since January. I thought he was going to get on my nerves, but he really hasn't. I've kinda gotten used to him being around. But, Best Wishes to your DH! Especially if "YOU" can shop more!

I weighed my chicken thighs (took the bone out/skin off). 8 oz = 199 calories according to my tracker. It amounted to 2 medium size thighs. I had oven roasted cauliflower with it. Hoping for a loss tomorrow!
