Day 19

hi cfine! Thanks for the encouraging words! Yes, I'm very proud of myself for being able to quit cold turkey. But you know what? I think cutting out carbs is definitely helpful in diminishing nicotine cravings.

72.5kg/ 160 lbs -1/27
71.8 kg/ 158.3 lbs - 1/28
71.8 kg/ 158.3 lbs - 1/29
71 kg / 156.5 lbs - 2/2
70.7 kg/ 155.9 lbs - 2/3
69.7 kg/ 153.7 lbs - 2/4 (walked to work)
69.8 kg/ 153.9 lbs - 2/5 (treadmill)
69.9 kg/ 154.1 lbs - 2/6 (a busy day. Will be walking a lot!) (TOM:b)
70.1 kg/ 154.5 lbs - 2/8 (walked)
69.6 kg /153.4 lbs -2/10 (walk)
69 kg / 152.1 lbs - 2/11 (walk a lot; 20min of Taebo Bootcamp)
68.5 kg/ 151.0 lbs - 2/12 (nothing ) (TOM:e)
68.7 kg/ 151.4 lbs - 2/13 (walk)
68.8 kg/ 151.7 lbs - 2/14 (walk)

Ok, so the scale is moving backwards... but hey, I think that might just be how my body loses weight, kind of in a cycle. So it's ok. I have faith that it'll eventually go down.

I need to go grocery shopping. Slowly but surely running out of things to eat.

So I feel a little sad today because today is Valentine's day and I don't have a valentine.... I would like to go on a shopping spree for a little pick me up, but can't even do that because I'm broke. Weeeeehhhhhh

And I've been totally procrastinating on the project with its due date approaching soon. Get a hold of yourself!!!!!

So I just enjoyed some cream cheese cloud thingy with a twist. I've been craving fruit so much lately, esp citrus fruit!, that I put a little of sf emergenc and it was delicious!!! It added the lemony flavor I was craving. Yea, so I do feel a little better but I'm just gonna take it easy till work. The boss man asked me if I could come in early today. I hate him.

Ok, so I've been bad. very bad for the past couple of days. Not really clean eating, in terms of sauces and stuff. And too many lowcarb desserts! I also ended up having 3 pcs of dark chocolate on valentines. But it was good!
I did peek at the scale this morning but I'm not gonna post it because it's upsetting. I really need to go get groceries.

As long as you jump back on the wagon it will all be fine, I think you are doing so well with the amount of weight you have lost....stress doesn't help does it...I have found for me the key thing is to be prepared, I have to have the right food in the house, and a menu for what it is I am going to be eating that day, otherwise I want to just eat toast and other stuff lol....sometimes a treat doesn't hurt, its getting back into low carb afterwards that's important, you will do this.....by the way I hope your mom is ok..

eeek!

OK, so I couldn't weigh myself again this morning b/c I overslept and was late to work. I don't really want to anyway because I know I'm still up from this weekend, which kind of makes sense and not at the same time. I mean I didn't eat that clean, but I didn't totally go off. I had to eat out a lot and I could definitely taste some "hidden" carbs, but it's not like I ate any off limits food.

Well the good news is that I finally went grocery shopping so the fridge is stocked with some good eatin'! I got enough to last me for a couple of wks at least I think. I'm just so busy these days with school, work, and show preparation that grocery shopping is such a chore! For the past 3 days, I've been bad about not only my diet but also exercising too. I did nada....Even drove to work this morning, well because I was super late.

I'll do my best to walk to work tomorrow which means I have to wake up extra early. Argghh! I'm not a morning person..

Well one thing that I definitely should be proud of for is that I haven't had a single cigarette since 1/27 and stayed strong!

It might be a good thing you didn't weigh yourself lol...I wish I hadn't this morning as I was up a pound, I think it might be from soy sauce.
Anyway its good to hear you are all organized now for the next while....you are doing amazing with all of it...eating good ish, walking, no ciggys....totally amazing....you should pat yourself on the back....I am doing e cigs as I couldn't give up....its not easy is it but it sounds like you are doing so well.....

Day 24

Thanks guys for the encouraging words! And the scale wasn't too bad today!!!

72.5kg/ 160 lbs -1/27
71.8 kg/ 158.3 lbs - 1/28
71.8 kg/ 158.3 lbs - 1/29
71 kg / 156.5 lbs - 2/2
70.7 kg/ 155.9 lbs - 2/3
69.7 kg/ 153.7 lbs - 2/4 (walked to work)
69.8 kg/ 153.9 lbs - 2/5 (treadmill)
69.9 kg/ 154.1 lbs - 2/6 (a busy day. Will be walking a lot!) (TOM:b)
70.1 kg/ 154.5 lbs - 2/8 (walked)
69.6 kg /153.4 lbs -2/10 (walk)
69 kg / 152.1 lbs - 2/11 (walk a lot; 20min of Taebo Bootcamp)
68.5 kg/ 151.0 lbs - 2/12 (nothing ) (TOM:e)
68.7 kg/ 151.4 lbs - 2/13 (walk)
68.8 kg/ 151.7 lbs - 2/14 (walk)
? / ? - 2/15-18 (nothing )
68.6 kg/ 151.2 lbs - 2/18 (maybe try Brazilian Butt Lift ???)

Ok, so at least the scale is moving in the right direction again. I can't wait to get into the 140s!!! Perhaps by the end of this week! With clean eating and exercising I think I might be able to do it!

Well, another good news is that I definitely feel smaller especially around my waist. The sides are definitely thinner when I do the pinch test, although the front still has a long way to go.. But my thighs and arms still feel huge. I don't necessarily have a 'problem area' because the fat is distributed everywhere. But I feel like my arms and legs are always the last to lose for some reason. The first is the face and then tummy and boobs (), then back, then arms and lastly thighs That darn evolutionary survival instinct packing on reserve energy around hips & thighs..

So far the loss is at 8.8lbs in 24 days. It's not lightening fast, but if I can make the 10lb/month mark, I would be very happy. While I probably have to account for the weight loss slowing down somewhat in the next couple of months, I also plan on increasing my activity level, amping up the workout intensity. So hopefully I can get as close to my goal as possible by this summer.
Oh I can't wait till this early morning work schedule ends! At least it's only for this week.

Day 25

Hmm, since yesterday, I have been feeling really woozy... I'm not sure what's causing it. I kind of upped the amount of butter yesterday so maybe that's it. Also I ate too much today and didn't exercise

On a more positive note, I've decided to review some of my goals in order to keep myself focused.

I have reached my 10lbs mark!! which was my first mini goal. I have every 10lbs loss as a mini goal for a total of 4 mini goals. So 1 out of 4 done, 3 more to go!!

I also have these goals/rewards:

- gift myself a gym membership with a 10kg loss goal. (4.5 kg so far, 5.5 kg left)!!!
- gift myself an oven with a 10lbs loss starting today. (149.9lbs -> 143lbs)

I really would like an oven, but I recently found a bunch of wonderful crockpot recipes so...hmm kind of having second thoughts.

I wonder what the wooziness is....I know I had carb flu after doing this for 5 days but you are on day 25 so it can't be that, I hope you figure it out.
Look how well you have done, totally amazing....10 whole pounds, that is such a lot, I always think of weight as in bags of sugar, in England the bags are 2lb bags so even when I think I have only lost 2lb it helps me realize how much weight that really is....so you have lost 5 bags of sugar, amazing.
We had a crockpot dinner tonight, it was lovely, and they fill the house with such delicious smells.....anyway well done to you.....

My DD and I both got a viral illness that caused us to be dizzy for several days. Maybe it's something like that? Hope you feel better quickly.

Morning ! Hope you are feeling better today ! I bought a crock pot a couple of months ago and I really love it ! So easy to use. Throw an onion in, some meat and seasonings and let it do its magic.

Oh thank you so much ladies! I'm feeling better.

I'm an emotional eater who is prone to occasional binging. It can be triggered by many things such as stress, boredom, excitement (this is actually engrained into our culture when you think about it because we often celebrate with food. Birthday cake being a perfect example. ), loneliness, anxiety, and finally weight loss. Now this may seem oh so counter intuitive in that I work so darn hard to lose the weight and then when I do, this weird side of me sabotages it. It's this craziest psychological thing...

But you know what? This realization is a part of the healing process. On this journey, I'm dealing with many issues: emotional eating, quitting smoking & drinking, losing weight to regain my confidence, etc. And I'm realizing more and more how they are all related.

This whole process requires tremendous strength..and I often channel that strength through self-help books. Today, I listened to Wayne Dyer's lecture called inspiration. It was great and tremendously helpful in reminding myself why I'm doing this and what my goal is. If anyone is interested, the video can be found on youtube under the title "Whats your calling?"

Just wanted to say thank you so much for what you wrote in my journal, you really seem to know what you are talking about, and your weight loss is brilliant, it is really motivating to read how you are doing.
I will go and check out wayne dwyer, I am sure I have heard of him before, in fact I am sure I have downloaded something of his from youtube that I listen to when I am going to sleep, I will have to go and have a look now lol.
Thanks again, hope your weekend is a good one.

Wow, obviously my weight shot up through the roof... I've been having this soup and I don't think it agrees with me. Well, obviously it doesn't in a major way! It has soysauce and I made it really salty, so I'm probably retaining a lot of water. But I still have quite a bit left and I need to finish it.

Must think positively! It's ok, because I know that it can only be water retention, so I'll wait it out. I can do it!!! I will try to cut down on my salt intake a bit though and see whether it helps.
