BubblyRen's Journey to Health

Today I hit the one week mark, and I stuck with it! I'm so excited! I started out at 253.4 last Tuesday, and as of this morning I'm at 248.2. Steps in the right direction! I feel so revitalized... I have so much more energy. Before I decided to start eating LC I would come home from work and crash on the couch out of pure exhaustion. I let house work slide and pretty much everything else. It feels so great to be back in charge of my life.

Yes, for sure!! I went through a monster pile of dishes like a madwoman and still did 15 minutes on the elliptical! I'm trying to work my way up to 30 minutes.

Well, I told myself I was going to start weighing less... but last night I made the most delicious cauliflower-crust pizza. It was so divine I thought it HAD to be too good to be true-- no way was that actually good for me! But, as of this AM, I'm another pound down! Now I'm going to be dreamining of cauli-pizza for days!

Feeling a little crampy and bloated despite the loss... but that might be because my TOM is quickly approaching. I'm a little worried because generally this is the week I gorge on cookie dough ice cream. I have some yummy buttersctoch HWC mousse in the fridge ready for such cravings though, so I'm hoping it'll come off without a hitch. I haven't cheated yet, and I honestly think it's because I've been prepared ahead of time with meals and snacks and such.

Yesterday I had mixed raw nuts for breakfast, some meatballs for lunch, and a grilled chicken salad for dinner (and some of my HWC mousse for dessert). I'm noticing that it's easier for me to stop eating when I feel full-- in the past I would just keep going and going and going. I've found that the foods I've been eating leave me feeling satisfied for longer and my cravings to munch and graze are almost vanished.

I do still have an issue with wanting to eat out of boredom or for comfort, but I think being aware of that problem was half the battle. Now when I get those feelings I tell myself there are other ways of coping with it. I've done a lot of drawing, photo editing, and taken some bubble baths recently. Trying to re-train my brain, and I think it will eventually be second-nature! I hope so anyway.

Today I weighed in at 244.6-- I did a weird dance all around my kitchen. Love it! Feeling like a million bucks!

Having a tough time today. I've been fighting off the urge to binge eat all day long. I think it's because PMS has hit me like a sledgehammer! Ugh. So far I'm doing pretty well. I have eaten more than normal, but I've at least managed to keep the choices healthy. My husband's taking me to a movie in a little bit to get me out of the house, and I'm hoping that will help take my mind off food! Gah! It's sad that I am this addicted to eating.

So proud of myself!! It was hard, but I avoided totally falling off the wagon yesterday. This morning the scale says 238.6! I can't believe it! Seems to good to be true, so I'm preparing myself for that to go up tomorrow. But in any case, I'm happy I avoided a binge yesterday.

The scale is up this morning-- 244.4-- but I was expecting that since I found it pretty unlikely that I actually lost 6 pounds in one day! The only explanation I can think of is water retention related to my TOM. I usually get pretty bloated. I guess we shall see if it dips back down again afterward. Either way, I'm still happy with my progress. Tomorrow is my 2 week benchmark.

I took my measurements just to see where I'm at:
48.5" - 44.5" - 51"

Today is my two week mark! I weighed in at 244.8 this morning. Not a dramatic drop like I was hoping for, but it's progress! Keeping positive as I know this is a lifelong journey and not just a quick fix. Continuing to have more energy, and my skin is clearing up beautifully. My next goal is 240. Here we go!

This morning I weighed in at 244.4-- seems like my loss is slowing down, but I expected that going in to week 3. Still steadily trickling down though. If I keep up this pace I could be 50 pounds lighter by this time next year. That's crazy! Trying to focus on smaller steps in the meantime, so it's not so overwhelming. Today I'm grateful for the small loss, and for feeling like a million bucks. Still shooting for 240! I got this!

Good morning! Weight today is 244.2. Ugh, stupid 244's! At least it's going down a little bit every day. I've read that it's standard to only lose about a pound a week, so I'm thinking maybe now that I'm getting into a groove that's where I'm at. I guess time will tell! In the meantime I'm just trucking along.

I totally agree that what we perceive as "small steps" will add up to bigger success! One pound a week is great -- any loss is fantastic!

I hope you have a good Friday, Ren.

I can't believe I'm up this early on a Saturday! My husband was sawing some serious logs last night and kept waking me up. I finally gave up on trying to sleep and just got up!

Yesterday I felt the urge to binge again, but for the second time since I started this WOE I was able to fend it off. This morning the scale is at 242.6!! I really feel like I'm making progress mentally as well as physically. I've never even tried to fix my relationship with food before now-- to be honest I don't think I really admitted to myself how much of a problem I had until I tried to stop. But, I'm moving forward and I couldn't be happier with myself. It's only been a little over two weeks but I feel like I've come a long way.

Feeling great today! I'm at 242 even this morning. I love that I don't have to starve myself to see those numbers keep moving. I don't think I could stick with this WOE at all if I was hungry all the time. Still struggling a little bit to find LC options when we eat out that aren't just salad-- finding a lot of seemingly LC options are loaded with hidden carbs when I check the internet. Mom and Pop places seem to be better about that. Yesterday I had two pork chops at this local place. Sadly they didn't serve veggies before dinner time (how crazy is that?!) so I couldn't get any sides. Oh well!

I'm back to 242.6 today... darn! I'm starting to think the HWC dessert I sometimes have is making the scale go up a little. Guess I'll have to try something else to indulge my sweet tooth-- maybe something with less sodium. I'm going to wait a little while before I cut it out completely, since it might just be normal fluctuation. We'll see!

Today is my 3 week mark, and I weigh 241.4 this morning! That's a total of 12 pounds lost so far. And that's to say nothing of how great I feel, besides. Anyway, have to make this short-- headed to a meeting in a few and I have to chomp down some breakfast!

Thanks, ladies! I'm pretty stoked! Unfortunately I seem to have caught my hubby's cold so I'm sick and pathetic today... but I'm still pretty psyched about the progress I'm making. Woohoo!

1/13/14
48.5" - 44.5" - 51"

1/21/14

Still sick today... ugh! Thinking I might have strep throat. I have an appointment with my office's nurse later, hoping it goes well. The scale said 239.8 this morning-- wow!! Trying not to get too excited about that as I know it's probably just because I've been sick and haven't had much appetite. Still, I managed to stay with my WOE even though I really wanted to drink a whole jug of orange juice and eat junk. Trudging on!

I hope you are able to get some relief. I had strep & bronchitis at the same time last year right around this time, so I know how frustrating it is not to feel 100%.

You're doing great keeping up with your WOE!

Thanks, JG. I tested negative for strep, just have some other kind of funky infection in my throat and sinuses. But they gave me a script for antibiotics so hopefully I'll be feeling better very soon. I can't imagine having bronichitis and strep at the same time-- ugh, how terrible!!

Ugh feeling terrible today. Me and the hubs are both on antibiotics as of last night so hoping I will finally get to feeling better. Unfortunately I have to work despite being under the weather. All I can say is thank goodness it's Friday! Looking forward to a weekend of sleep, sleep, and sleep!!

This morning the scale said 239.6. I'm stoked I broke my goal of 240! Hoping this loss sticks even though it's partially due to being sick. Next goal is 235!

Well, yesterday I was FINALLY feeling better! As of today I can breathe through my nose again, which is a huge victory as far as I can say haha. The scale is up a little bit-- 240.2-- but that's to be expected as I knew some of the weight loss was just due to being sick and not eating much. Went shopping this weekend and discovered I'm down one size, from a 22 to a 20. Hellooooo new jeans!
