Oh Lauren - I keep doing that "where would I be...." crap. haha. Not as much, but some. 2 years ago I had tried lowcarb and I was 318. Fast forward to March 2014, and I'm 348 (and 4 months postpartum).
It's a lot of work to get down to 318. So I thinking about that negativity somedays...but really, what is important is where WILL we be next year at this time?
Holy crap, you're almost in onederland as it is.
I think I was 5th grade the last time I saw onederland <3

Thank you, Kati. That is so true. Why is it we are so hard on ourselves? It's crazy! Trying to put an end to that sort of negative self-talk.

---

Uuuugh soooo stressed. Only six days left until my trip and we still do not have a confirmed place to live. We did find a place we really really like (finally!) and put in an application for it on Saturday. I'm so anxious and worried, waiting to hear if we got it or not. Hoping we hear something today so I can put this to bed. One way or the other I'd just like to know.

Scale is back up to 216.4 today. Not too worried about that-- I haven't cheated so I know it's just a normal fluctuation. Probably stress-related! Is that possible? I don't even know haha.

Heard from the landlord of the townhome yesterday... he said he's not making a decision until the end of this week, but that he has our stuff. Ugh! Well, that's nice for him, but we need something now... we were scared that if we wait until then and then don't get it, we'd be up a creek. So we went and looked at a different townhome last night and ended up liking it even better! The landlord was very nice and we went ahead and applied for that one as well. We made it through the credit check and now are just waiting on him to verify our employment and check our references. Fingers crossed this is it! I'm so tired of this awful stressed out feeling of constant dread.

Today I'm back down to 215.2! Still trucking along despite all this stress. I've been too busy to give food much thought lately. Lots of salad and bacon! Tonight I think I'm going to try to make some chicken salad. Sounds yummy to me!

Good morning, Lauren...well, it sounds like the prospect of this new townhome is pretty darn good! I hope it all goes through for you. We had a lease accepted, but we haven't seen the home in person...it's only got 1 bathroom, but we figured we can make do for 1 year and move if necessary at that time. We're down to 2 weeks before our move to Jersey!

Glad to see you're still making great progress over here...good for you, girl! I'm working on implementing daily habits again that'll add up to results. That seems to be the best plan of attack for me when under stress.

Have a good Tuesday!

I had no idea finding a rental was so stressful. Like interviewing for a job.

Praying it all works out soon for you Lauren...
It does sound like you are interviewing for a place to live mmmmm.

We had a great few days back in Tx...in my hometown ...I got to visit with all 4 of my grandsons for the first time together....4yrs to 21yrs...and other family...Just never enough time and doesn't last long enough...

DH traded his 2011 Chevy truck in for a 2014 one the night before we left...so he enjoyed driving all the way....12 hr...trip...There is a GPS in it and the voice that navigates the road map for us I named her Ms. Sassy lol...when you get off the main route and she tells you to turn back around and mmmm it was funny talking back to her voice...LOL My DH and I love traveling so we have to have something to keep all the long miles go by...

I am proud to say I did not gain any weight and I had 2 free higher carb meals but I was still careful...we ate at one of our favorite Mexican Food Restaurants and one steak house....Salt Grass... My DH is sweet and he always picks up the tap when we take our family out but this time my oldest grandson did...and it was very nice.. We left the large tip..Now I am back today on my regular WOE...and tomorrow back to my exercise routine...

We're very hopeful, JG! It sounded like he was going to give it to us, but then he goes and says he's going to be out of town and will meet with us at the end of the week. Gah! So we're really cutting it close now. Leaving for my trip on Sunday, so I'm hoping his "end of the week" means Friday.

Kati-- It REALLY is!! I feel like I have to convince these people I'm not a criminal. They run your credit, do a criminal background check, and then you still have to wait for them to contact all your references and jobs and places you used to live to make sure you're not a creep. Luckily I have a very good credit score, but I swear it didn't used to be this difficult to find a place.

Mary-- Thank you, prayers are much appreciated! That trip sounds super fun! I know what you mean about never having enough time. I live two states away from my parents and my brother lives in MD and it's rare that we're all in the same place at the same time now. We're a loud bunch though so maybe that's for the best, LOL! Sounds like you are doing great, I'm happy for you!

---

Holding steady at 215.2 today. Got home last night and my sweet hubby had already made dinner. Score!! Hahaha. He made some chicken tenderloins with garlic, some baby lima beans, and I had a little bit of cottage cheese to get my fat in. It's been really, really great having him on board with LC. It's so nice not having to remind him every so often that I "can't eat that." Now he knows because he can't have it either. Very grateful for him. Having a great spouse really takes the edge off uncertain and stressful situations because at least I'm not in this alone!

I can't believe my big trip to Vegas is almost here! I have been planning this for almost a year. We had planned on me leaving my job to expand my own business, but the whole having to move at a moment's notice sort of threw a wrench in there and complicated things. Just trusting that everything is going to work out and trying not to worry.

Mary-- I am going with my mom and grandma so I feel pretty safe! Never too old for mom haha.

Still at 215.2 today. I got to work this morning and my team had done up my whole desk with streamers and balloons and a big sign saying they will miss me. When my boss got here she brought me flowers and more balloons. And THEN they tell me they planned a huge potluck for me, and everything they brought is low carb because they know that's how I eat. I'm going to cry!! So very sweet and touching. I'm definitely in the minority with my low carb WOE but they went out of their way to research and make low carb dishes for me. This is definitely the best send off I could have asked for.

Kati, LOL! That's too funny.

HiDiddle, thank you very much! I try my best. This forum is very supportive and really makes the difference for me. Welcome!

---

Today I'm back down to 214.6... woohoo! It's my last day at work. It's bittersweet. I'm excited to be venturing out on my own and trying something new, but I'm really going to miss all my work buddies. I've worked here since right after college and I really feel like I grew up here. But, everything has its season, and it's time for something different! I'm feeling very optimistic and happy today, and I'm sticking to it!

Thank you, Mary! I am trying my best to be a positive and intentional as possible.

Thanks, Gracie! I am a plus-size style blogger, and I decided to leave my desk job and open a boutique that will be connected with my blog. We were able to make the transition because my husband got a really great job almost a year ago and we felt like it was time to take the risk. But we weren't planning on having to move around the same time so that's added a fun layer of panic, LOL.

HEY, EVERYONE. I'm finally home from my trip-- woah!! I was on the road for almost a whole month. Our trip was originally going to be 2.5 weeks but we had a lot of delays. We were traveling with my 89-year-old grandma so I guess it's to be expected. It was the trip of a lifetime! I saw Old Faithful, the hot springs at Yellowstone, the giant redwoods in California, and I even played the slots in Vegas. And I came home with a new kitten! We rescued him from a really bad hoarding situation. He had worms and an upper respiratory infection, so he's in solitary confinement while he gets better. It's only been two days since he got an antibiotic shot from the vet and he's already coughing and sneezing a loooot less.

Anyway! Today is my 7-month mark! HOORAY! I definitely didn't do a great job while on my trip, but I didn't totally go nuts either. This morning the scale says 213.4 and I'm okay with that. Getting back on track and refocusing now that I'm home!

I took a new progress pic today-- but I'm not wearing any makeup and I'm super tired, haha! Still, I think you can see a difference.

Glad you're back! That vacation sounds awesome. We need to see some pics of your new kitty once it's all better.

I can definitely see the difference in your picture. Your neck especially looks much slimmer. Way to go!!!

Definitely, Gracie! Thank you! I'm feeling much refreshed after such a long trip, so I think it will be good for my progress in the long run.

---

New low this morning-- 212 even! YAY!! I'm sure I'd be lower than that now if I had been stricter on my vacation, but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. It's really hard sometimes to find LC foods on a road trip. Especially when you end up stopping for the night in the middle of nowhere. I'm just glad I didn't have any gain while I was away. I'll consider that a victory considering how long I was away from home, eating out 3 meals a day.

We moved into our new townhome a few days ago and the place is a DISASTER right now, haha. The previous tenant left it in a really bad way, so our landlord has had repair guys here for the last three days patching up holes and repainting and such. On top of that the whole thing is a maze of boxes. I'll be glad when they're finished fixing the place up so we can unpack and start to get settled here.

I bounced around over the weekend, and this morning I'm at 211.8! I've got a lot on the books this week. 2 doctors' appointments and one vet appointment for my cat. We're making progress little by little on unpacking. I'm ready for things to get settled down around here so I can dig in my heels and get to work! Seeing a new low on the scale is definitely a positive, though!

Checking in today. I've been bouncing around per usual-- today I'm back down to 211.6. Feeling good and staying focused! Feeling PMS-y and bloated though, blech. Gotta love being a woman sometimes! Thanks for nothing, Mother Nature, LOL. Making some good progress on getting settled into our new place. I got rid of a TON of stuff-- I sold some of my books to a used book store, got rid of all my old CDs, went through my shoes and clothes. It feels good to let go of a lot of that stuff.

My new little kitty is still sick but he's finally starting to get better, I think. There's certainly nothing wrong with his lungs! I've had to keep him shut in his own room to keep my other cat safe and he's crying to come out right now as I type this. Poor thing! I'll be glad when he's all better and I don't have to keep him separated anymore.

Popping in to say "hey, I'm still in this!" Today is my 8-month mark. I went a little crazy this month, and found myself back up to 214.8 before I got back on track. Today I'm back down to 211.6, and I'm back to my LC WOE. My husband jumped ship and is back to eating all kinds of junk-- having it in the house really messed me up, so he's agreed to keep his snacks in his locker at work so they're not here tempting me all day. So far so good!
