Day 13: Induction

Though I'm closer to day 14, I still have a ways to go; but my co-worker did mention that she can see a difference and I had a little pep in my step today. I'll take that, and run with it.

Menu:

Breakfast: 1 cup of coffee
Lunch: Turkey and ham salad with balsamic dressing
Dinner: Steak and broccoli with cheese

Day 14: Induction

I made it a full 14 days on Induction, and for me that's great; based on me not being able to get pass day 4 or so just last year. I'm more excited about being back on track and committed, than I am with the days put in or weight loss right about now.

Menu:

Breakfast: sausage egg with cheese burrito (minus the burrito)
Lunch: Turkey and ham salad with balsamic dressing
Dinner: I'm thinking a shrimp and broccoli stir fry?

Morning update - haven't weighed in

It's been a while since I popped in and updated.

I'm REALLY trying to make this more of a lifestyle change and not dwell on it; just LIVE it out. The more I ponder on it, kind of makes it like a "Diet", in my mind. When I just the eat the allowable foods and not put much thought into it, I seem to do better. So I'm still eating Induction levels, with a few nuts here and there.

Is Low Carbing for me?

I keep asking myself this question, and today after browsing the LCF site; I came across this post and reminded myself of all the non-scale victories I experienced when I was committed and focused.

So to answer my own question, Yes Low Carbing is for me!

My top ten non-scale victories so far would be...

10. I don't sweat so much
9. I'm not winded so much from chlimbing stairs/walking
8. I actually have a pair of "skinny jeans"... yes, men have these too ladies. LOL
7. Speaking of jeans, the smaller you get the cheaper they are (saving money)
6. Closet shopping-- I recently wrote in my journal how I wore an old shirt for the first time in a couple of years now that I've lost some of my gut.. feels great
5. I don't struggle to get in and out of the tub (I'm taking more baths rather than showers)
4. Sleeping better
3. Everyday I am seeing the "proof in the pudding" that is this LC WOE lifestyle
2. Compliments and kudos from family and friends who are noticing the change
1. I'm learning to love me again rather than pity and feel sorry for me for being overweight/obese; I smile a whole lot more these days

Hi there. Hang in there. It's so hard for me too but I also came to the conclusion that this is the best for me. So even if I get 5 out of 7 days right going back totally to the old way of eating is out of the question. Not willing to give up the pounds I've lost or the benefits gained. One day we will wake up and with the consistent pressing forward lowcarb will be second nature to us. So again hang in there my friend.

Thanks monees, I am.

I will never give up, but I need to have that same mindset; if I get a few days wrong, I should still keep pressing and not just go all hog wild and eat crap with the "I'll start over tomorrow mindset." Even though I have been at this for years, I truly believe this is my year and I'm going to treat my body right and finally get this weight off and begin a healthy journey to fitness.

This is definitely your year! I fully believe that.

Thanks Jamie, for always supporting and encouraging me!

I'm like 3-4 hours away from her, I think.

No problem, Lyn...we all need encouragement along this journey.

Oh ok, I was wondering since I'm meeting up with Cle while down that way...I'm staying with her for 2 nights.

Thanks again!

That's great, we had such an awesome time when I met her and her sister in Miami. What are the dates?

hey there

How's it going Ms. Lyn. Just wanted to send some encouragement your way. Remember the spring/summer is rapidly approaching (not quite in Chicago but a girl can hope). Pray all is well with you.

Hello monees! It's going, how are you?

Yes, I was just thinking to myself, if I go ahead and start NOW then I'll be closer to goal and looking and feeling so much better in the Summer.

We are planning a vacation during that time, and I always dread wearing shorts, tanks, and etc. So this is definitely the time to get back on the wagon, and toss the excuses!

Fresh Start

I'm dusting myself off, forgetting the former things and pressing on!

I've come too far, and seen many that started out with me; succeeding. So I know it can be done. The difference between them and me, is that they kept pushing and I allowed a cheat to turn into an all day junk food feast, that later turned into months long binges. So now that I have all that out on the table, I'm back like never before and I promise myself that I will succeed this go round.

"My Declaration for Better Health"

My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and day by day it is becoming a fit habitation for the indwelling presence of God.

Great. We are all still in this together. Not going to give up even though I myself have faced some challenges recently but insist on fighting to see my success in this area. Yep let's get our Nike on (JUST DO IT). Take care and we will look in on each other.

I find this to be very true.

I have a great support team, but if I don't do my part; then nothing happens and I continue to remain idle.

True post, Lyn! I gotta get back in the gym, and only I can do that for myself.

Have a great on-plan day!

You'll get back in there! I plan to start power walking 4 times a week and then I'll gradually get back into the Gym flow. So far so good! Thanks

Success is not a race, be patient.
Success leads to success.
Success is always a work in progress.
Success doesn't come to you, you go to it.
Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process.
Some people dream about success, while others wake up and work hard at it.
Success is achieved and maintained by those who try and keep trying.
Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED!
If at first you don't succeed, try again.

Hey Lyn, if you can go into the forum in the main lobby there is an excellent posting of Starting Over Part I and II. It truly rocked my thought pattern about this process and gave me some insight on things. Take a look and see what you think. Take care.

So glad you chimed in. I read that and for some reason it cleared my mind and gave such great insight I have been completely on point with my plan. Never stopped but had to many situations where I would dangle my feet over the edge of the wagon so to speak and then have to get back on track again... Just another source of tools to check out since I know you too have started a couple times along with myself. Take care.
