Becky go to a site on here that says it is for 50 years and older. I just found it and there is a recipe thread with all kinds of good stuff on it. I can't wait to try some of it.

Also a easy one is this. I make this all the time while looseing.

1 lb. sausage. Brown it like hamburger.

1-8oz. creamcheese cut in about 8 pieces. Add that to the sausage when almost done. Melt the cheese and keep stiring so it does not burn on low heat. When not stiring crack

8 eggs and stir up in a bowl. Add a tad of water to the eggs. Not much. When cheese melts add the scrambled eggs to the pan. Keep stirring until the eggs are done the way you like them. Enjoy. I freeze this also for quick meals.

I have two times now noticed after being off of diet cokes for a while then partaking again...I have hip pain...

I can't say for sure it it's the diet coke causing that...but it seems like it might be. I also have a bad ankle that was pretty inflamed this week.

Soooo.....I'm going back off. I REALLY love the taste of diet coke. I don't like any other drink. So I guess I'll just be a water girl. I do like water...but sometimes a diet coke just tastes so perfect...

I was still 186 this morning...so I'm glad for a "no gain" day.

Susan, I did put salsa in my scrambled eggs and they are yummy!! I love tomatoey stuff!
Windygap, that creamcheese & eggs things sounds good too. I'll be trying that! Thanks!

Sandy, I think prawns are what we call shrimp? I had Shrimp & Spinach salad last night and it was delicious...but I think the dressing was pretty loaded in sugar...next time I'll get it on the side... or use a different dressing.

It's a pretty day here... I took a nice long walk around the neighborhood...not fast because of my foot...but leisurely...it was nice to relax & breath in fresh air!

Hi Becky, glad to see you didn't have a gain, but that was sad to hear you have hurt your foot, what did you do to hurt it.
I am with you on the diet coke, I never used to drink it but since the beginning of Feb I am drinking about three glasses a day, I think I need to find something else to drink...red wine would be nice lol.
Hope your weekend was a good one.

I'm trying to get back to LC...the stomach bug has been in our house for a couple of weeks now...from one family member to another...my case is very mild...I wonder if that's due to the broth I was drinking and the probiotics I take regularly? But I've felt not quite up to par...plus something happened yesterday that knocked me for a loop...can't really talk about it...but things like that can throw me off...yesterday I ate a sleeve of Ritz crackers and a Big Mac with Fries...helloooooo comfort food! haha

So, I don't really know what I will eat today...nothing sounds good and I really have no desire to eat...I went to bed last night at 5pm... I'm hoping to make good choices for food today!

But it's Friday...always a welcome day!

So glad to see you back Becky, you were missed....Susan is still on holiday lucky woman lol.
Stomach bugs aren't nice, I hope you all feel better soon, although I always think it might help with weight loss, but still not nice.
Sorry you are going through something personal, that is never good for your stress level or eating....I really hope you have some support around you as that always helps, I wouldn't worry to much about food right now, you have to get through this time with whatever is going to help....sending you hugs and hope whatever it is sorts itself out soon.....my new mantra for this year is....nothing ever stays the same...so if you are going through a good time then enjoy every moment as it won't last, and if you are going through a bad time know that it to won't last as everything is continually changing...
Actually reading my mantra back sounds quite depressing lol....anyway hugs are being sent your way...hang in there.

I also am glad you're on the mend. And I share your experience of reaching for food during times of stress...these days I'm able to stay LC but notice that somehow I feel much hungrier and just seem to eat more when I'm upset. Of course I've also had the experience of being so stressed that I lost my appetite completely. The relationship between appetite and emotion is interesting to think about, frustrating to experience.

I was shocked to see the scale say 188 this morning! I've eaten carbs...but I've also gone through long periods of not eating because my tummy felt so queasy...

The last time I weighed it was 191 so I really looked for about 193 this morning...what a wonderful surprise! That gave me the inspiration I needed to order a salad at the pizza place after church...instead of pizza. A chocolate cake my son made is calling my name right now, but so far I'm resisting.

My last post said my case of the stomach bug is mild and may be due to the fact that I'm drinking and taking probiotics...haha...I meant to say I had been drinking bone broth. I haven't been "drinking!" haha I may try another batch of the broth this week...I didn't like the last batch...maybe I'll try again.

I've decided to give up diet coke and sugar free gum...getting all of that aspartame out of my system...I want to see if I can tell a notable difference in the way I feel. Time will tell. I do miss the gum though...way more than I thought I would. I chewed A LOT of SF gum...something to reach for when I had the munchies...

Thanks for stopping by Sandy, Lola & Windy! Lola, you are right about our emotions and appetite being so intertwined...it's pretty amazing! I wish I could separate the two.

My personal problem seems to have fixed itself...so I'm thankful for that.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Becky I am so happy for you that your scale is showing a loss....you definitely needed something to get you going again. so I was really happy to read that....I didn't notice that your post said you had been drinking lol, that's funny.
I'm glad your problem has sorted itself out....that was good to hear, I read something a while ago that said when we are under stress we produce more cortisol which stops weight loss....something like that anyway, so I am glad everything in your life is back to normal.
Have a great week Becky.

Hi Becky nice to see you, I hope everything is going ok now, there is nothing like a bit of stress to knock us for six.....ohhhh that is scary having to get on those scales, I get scared every morning lol, but if you haven't weighed in a few days I know what you mean....but you have to find the courage to do it so you can start seeing it drop again....so go do it Becky it might not be as bad as you think....
Anyway have a great day.....

Just do it and get it over with -then you'll know what to do. Whether it be rejoicing or re-focusing, you will have the information you need to move forward. My mother always said "If you want to know the answer, you have to ask the question." So go ahead, ask the scale..........

Becky, I so empathize as I'm in a period of being terrified to step on the scales. Yikes! Know I've got to do it but am afraid I've gained and since I've been feeling stressed lately fear if I face the numbers I'll feel even more distressed. I know that I need to conquer my fears and face the music but it is difficult right now. Maybe we can give each other courage.

Hey Becky! We will miss you! But enjoy the break and the warming weather! We all need the sun to shine upon are faces to re-energize ourselves! I just realized how much you and Sandy look alike - you could be sisters! Look at your profile pictures - if you had bangs, you would be twins!

See you soon!

Being told I look like Dear Sandy is a great compliment! THank you Susan!

I'm back...a little bruised...but I had fun! Can't live "there" though. I've had some carbs today...but I've not eaten since about 5PM and I'm not snacking before I go to bed...that's a step in the right direction.

I have started drinking hot tea...I don't love it, but I want to learn to like it more...so I won't have as much coffee. If anyone can recommend a particular brand or flavor, I'm all ears. I've tried Peppermint and Chai so far...I liked them both pretty good.

I had an MRI on my left ankle yesterday. The doc says I have "Sinus Tarsi Syndrome" which is basically inflammation from an old injury...I'm trying to learn all I can...but I don't think there's much that can be done to fix it...just ways to make it not as bad...

I went to the track today and walked a bit...I'm really out of shape...it's sad how I've let myself go...I used to tear that track up...with my ankle...I can't go as fast...but I need to exercise...I'll take it slowly and work back up.

Love to all!

Nice to see you Becky! Sorry about the ankle. You know low carb and coconut oil are good for inflammation! I'm using coconut oil as my go to cooking oil now. Do an internet search on The Inflammation Diet! It should help you in more ways than one!

So glad to see you back again Becky but glad you had a good break....sorry to hear about your ankle, that sounds sore, its not fun being in pain so I hope you figure it out soon, I never heard of that before, is it something that improves the more you walk on it?
I love all different kinds of tea's especially the fruit tea's like strawberry or rose hip...my very favourite one though is made by Twinnings and is called Fresh and Fruity Pomegranite & Raspberry....carb free and 0 sugars....you just can't beat a good cup of tea though lol.

I'm hobbling back...literally and physically...

I'm going to start physical therapy for my ankle/foot...and I'm ready to get back in control of my appetite...

I had a nice turkey sandwich wrapped in lettuce for lunch and I made a yummy egg salad for supper. I love to eat it when it's still warm...tastes so decadent.

I'll update stats in a day or two...

I'm wondering when I'll ever learn? I suppose as long as we keep getting back on the horse...

Becky.....oh my gosh...you are back....I am so excited to see you again.....you have been missed woman....
Injuries are awful, I really hope it gets sorted out, physio was a godsend for me last year when I injured my foot....
I agree my favourite is when my egg salad is warm....yum, you can't beat warm eggs rather than cold..
Anyway looking forward to seeing more of you again...I am so so pleased to see you...

I've been eating low carb for going on 5 days now...I do feel good about not being carbed up. I've ordered the book Trim Healthy Mama and I look forward to reading that when it comes in. I'm not as worried about losing right now...I know that will be a slow thing...I'm just trying to eat right, and not eat if I'm just craving...

It feels good to be back. I hope I can stay strong! May is a busy month.

The ankle is just something I have to deal with. It's been a mild problem for years...that has slowly gotten worse...if I'm on my feet for more than an hour it really causes problems. But hopefully when I get to physical therapy and they show me what exercises I need to do, that will help it get better.

I am thankful working out on the elliptical doesn't aggravate ... I've downloaded a bunch of great oldies from the "my fitness" collections on iTunes...so I have some great music to work out to!

Becky that is great you have been at this for five days now, I haven't heard of the book Trim Healthy Mama, when you get it you will have to tell us what kind of plan it is.

Your ankle is a real problem by the sounds of it, I am sure physio will really help it, it really helped me last year with a foot injury so I have a lot of faith in it.

Keep posting so we can support you....I couldn't do this without this board, I don't have enough willpower, so it really helps.

You are doing well on exercising with your elliptical, I am glad it doesn't bother your ankle at least that's something....
Hope the sun is shining where you are, I am sure it is as I think I remember you getting really nice hot humid summers....here we are still in the 50's with cloud lol.....but summer is coming...I hope....
