P is for PERSISTENCE -- my adventures in living low-carb

Rebooting my weightloss journal because I think I am ready to start properly after tapering down my carbs for a week. I want to do this because
1) I want to live life without the 'shadow' of binge eating hanging over me
2) I want to feel more comfortable in my body (feel like it is my own)
3) I want to prove to myself that I can do this (because I've wanted to get my old body back so much for so long but have never managed) and re-build self-confidence

So, I will start off with my first SMARTER (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, timely -- evaluate, re-evaluate) GOAL:
GOAL #1 Eat healthy 'softer atkins' from now until 27/December/2013

PLAN: Softer Atkins (like induction, but slightly easier)

-Lettuce scrambled egg and ham wrap
-Bacon/ham and eggs
-Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon
-Veggie chicken soup
-Veggie tofu miso soup
-Fresh salad

-(If eating out) everything but the potato/noodle/rice/pasta part
-Lettuce wraps (use two pieces of lettuce to wrap half a packet of salad with sauce and protein
e.g. hoisin duck lettuce wrap, southern fried chicken lettuce wrap, turkey cranberry lettuce wrap, ham and cheese, bacon salad wraps... YUM I am really excited about making these
-cabbage soup

-chicken thighs
-salad bowls from grocery stores
-pre-boiled eggs
-hot coffees and teas

-Sugarfree jello
-70%+ dark chocolate
-Options hot chocolate

Helpful habits:
-plan ahead for meals
-pre-boil eggs
-pre-make kale chips
-carry around kale chips/boiled eggs/dark chocolate for a quick snack in case I get hungry
-explaining my low carb eating habits to people
-not taking the 'first bite' of my binge foods: cereal, toast/bread, saltine crackers, milk chocolate, biscuits

Inspired by this quote:
Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
--Calvin Coolidge

Watch this space!!

B-1 egg + veggies
L-chicken salad/ham lettuce wrap
D-chicken veggie soup
Snacks - dark chocolate, capuccino, boiled egg

wish me luck!!
