I "was" doing pretty good, considering it's December, my WORST month of the year....until yesterday, that is. I gained just 1 lb on Christmas Eve which isn't bad. Spent the whole day with my youngest daughter, Sheri. Had brunch@Village Inn, then went to a movie...Saving Mr. Banks...that was good. Then to her house for dinner and poker with her family. She cooks low-carb.

Went to my oldest daughter's (Peg) house for Christmas Day. She does NOT cook low-carb. Ate way too much....and felt like crap from the carb overload all evening and into the night. Gained 3 lbs!!!!

I'm SO glad the holidays are over. Now to get back on track and get this OFF!!

Brush yourself off. The best thing is that you let it be just one day. In the past, that binge might have led to a week long, or even month long binge, and then regret. The holiday is over, and now you can get right back to where you were. The best thing about NYE is that dinner often entails elaborate meats Shrimp cocktail, Crab legs, Filet Mignon, etc. And...New years day has always been a pork and sauerkraut day in our house Good luck with the new year!!!

You are so right. Life does interfere. Everything is OK. My biggest weakness is eating out or eating at my oldest daughter's.

Yesterday morning's weight - 243.2 - UP 1.8 lbs .... Had too many calories although it was all low-carb.

I work in a restaurant, and while I don't mind when people special request orders, I never wanted to be that person. I would order the food as is, then take it off of the bun, or push the potatoes to the side, etc. SOMETIMES> because sometimes, I would take a little nibble of the bun...my cheese stuck to it. Or I would pick up something off of my plate w/potato on the fork too, oh well, just one won't hurt. And, then one day...I wasn't afraid. I wasn't afraid to ask for the burger without the bun. I wasn't ashamed to say no potatoes. Even if there wasn't a replacement, just leave them off (I mean really, there usually is more food on the plate than I need any old way). And, then eating out became easy. I don't know what to say about going to your daughter's house, other than you offering to bring something as well. And, take something low carb. In a worse case situation, you only eat your dish, but usually one veggie or one meat is edible at people's houses.

Sorry I haven't checked in on you in a minute. Life has been crazy here. But, alas, life goes on...hope your day is great!
