Hey girlie!! I agree that these last few posts have been great. You are clearly thinking hard about things. No matter what you choose, we all support you. But I think that this path has been really good for you and really helped you get to a calmer point in your journey to really decide how you want to eat and to take away the stress surrounding it all.

D- I watched EWL- I really liked this episode, one because of mother/son and 2- you know I don't know who my biological father is, so I could really relate to him about his father issue. I loved the Mom she was so great and I am so happy she found someone to love her, after devoting all those years to her son. I hope he will now find happiness with getting his own place. Still not a lot about the eating on the program, but I enjoyed this episode more than the first one. And might I say Rocco is a nice addition! He is so cute!

WOE: Chris Powell's Carb Cycling
Start Date: 9/16/13
Phew! Coming up for air!

HA!, no, Carol, I didn't join a gym....in fact, that whole thing turned into a whole debacle that left me somewhat traumatized...........

Needless to say, I decided against a membership...

Just finished grocery shopping and I swear, even Chris Powell woulda been grinning from ear to ear at the looks of my shopping cart

I'm excited to begin cycling again, it's time. I am looking forward to some good energy, clear skin, and less brain fog. It's been a long time coming, and I feel energized to get going. Tomorrow I'll weigh <<<<groan>>>> so I have a starting point, and get my food prep finished.. should be a great start!

Our last class for the Best program-- totally amazing. Had a guest speaker, Drew Manning. Some may know him from his book Fit2Fat2Fit.. He's a trainer who opted to forego clean eating and workouts for 6 months and gained 75lbs all to try and gain understanding of his overweight clients and feel/see where they were coming from. His book chronicles his experience from gaining the weight, to losing it. He's a great speaker and stayed after to sign books and take pics....very humble and gracious. I left that meeting feeling empowered and wanting to try again.

I'll admit, I'm gonna miss my bagels & cream cheese, along with my occasional sides of bacon/sausage that I'd grown accustomed to with my morning coffee However, I do think that going back to cycling is what my body truly needs. I've been SO achey and tired lately, that I'm just ready to fly right and begin at working at more weight loss.

Good to see you girl! WE have missed you.

Sounds like you are going back to what you truly loved. NEVER a bad thing! I am loving Chris Powell this season. Love that his wife is on the show more and helping him work with clients! She is so adorable. They make a cute/adorable couple. Can you only imagine how freaking adorable those 4 KIDS are???

I love hearing your enthusiasm for cycling again. And it sounds like you're completely ready to dive into it again, which is great. I'm enjoying EWL again too. That last mother/son team was really good.

So, do tell about your gym debacle. You know we can all relate to whatever it was!

Aw, thanks Monica!
I do love cycling. I've always said I loved the philosophy behind it and really, what can be wrong with fresh, whole foods?
I love Heidi on EWL. IRL they are adorable together, always holding hands as they stand and speak....soooo cute!

I am just so ready to feel good again!!! I don't think my body can take much more... there is definitely a fine line between eating what you want and honoring IE thinking... sadly, my body is screaming for something else ATM...

I liked last weeks epi of EWL...altho' I admit, I do worry about the boy... he seems to give up super easily at any given point in time... that could be detrimental in the long run if he doesn't nip that.. They looked fabulous at the finale, that's for sure!
----------------------------

So, kinda a bumpy start this morning... got up to do my first meal...my yogurt was expired. Ended up having to adlib on the fly and all is well.. just irritated as heck that I didn't get to eat what I'd planned.. and another trip back to the grocery to get my yogurts replaced.

DH is off today so I'm sure we'll be out & about.. I'm not really looking forward to that, it's gonna be at least 108 today Hopefully we'll make it quick and I can come home and sit and read my Chris Powell book

Working on finding something to volunteer for in the next couple months.. I'm not even sure what direction I want to go in, but I'm sure I'll find something fun!

Weighed in this a.m. MEH! Just proved to myself that I made the right choice getting back to cycling... it also showed me that I was right in the way I'd been feeling...and just an overall general sense of bigness..

Hi Dani!! Glad that you're back on track with cycling. Even when you left it, you seemed to believe you'd be back to it since it felt right for you. It's good to try other things and to get them out of our system. Now you probably feel a lot more ready to cycle again.

Love all your quotes as always!! Esp. the crocked path bit. It's true.

And the bigness will be gone before you know it. ((hugs))

Yikes, sorry to hear the gym didn't work out for ya. But, at least you know for sure now that it's not your thing. I think I'm finally ready to try cycling, I just need to finish CP's book and get the rules down so I can prepare. Volunteering sounds like a wonderful idea, can't wait to hear more about that.

Hello!

Wow, the time really has gone quickly. To be honest, I debated about shutting it all down here for a myriad of reasons, but eventually decided that I would only hurt myself in the end. I own my journey, with all of its bumps, highs & lows, and eventual jumps into the ditch. All of it. I set about on this journey in September 2013 on a quest for real transformation. I understood that parts of it would get ugly, hard, and downright uncomfortable....or at least, I thought I understood..... when it happens, unexpectedly or otherwise, it's jarring and painful. Having to unlearn a lifetime of negativity has been life changing and exhausting all at the same time. I committed to myself that I would do this once and for all. And so I have.
One thing that I started to get hung up on was worrying and wondering what other people were thinking about my journey, about my progress (or lack thereof) and it really started to mess with my head. After doing some major work the last month or so, I finally felt comfortable saying I don't care what anyone else thinks. This is MY journey and nobody else's. For me, part of my inability to succeed with weight loss has been mental/emotional (isn't it for most?) and I stood ready to confront it. I had to let go of the idea that weight loss progress would probably not happen concurrently while digging through the mess that I am processing. Hard concept to let go of! That perhaps, yet, another year may go by without getting anywhere near my weight loss goal....but, I am proud to live in the knowledge that my head is getting straight. It's taken me some time to truly embrace and feel what my mentor from the BEST team was trying to teach me, but I feel like I finally get it. Truly understand what it is to fall in love with ME. This is what he was after when he said, Danielle stop trying to lose weight right now, stop focusing on the numbers, and just let it go. So confusing coming from a trainer and a nutritionist! He knew what he was doing, understood exactly what it is that I was after, and with such a seemingly simple (yet hard!) daily exercise, I began to change the way I think. Part of learning to love myself required me to quit worrying about everyone else and what they think of me. It's none of my business!
So, while I haven't lost but a couple pounds the last few weeks, mentally I feel as if I've dropped hundreds of pounds of luggage that I've been dragging around with me my entire life. What a relief!
I think I am truly ready to embrace my program the way it's designed, as well as embrace the changes that will begin to happen from learning: to BECOME COMFORTABLE WITH BEING UNCOMFORTABLE.

I've been down with a cold the last 4 days (thanks hubby! ) but I am determined to get this boat going in a couple days. I am tired of being tired, of feeling exhausted, frustrated, and sad. I hold the key to change it all. It's about time I unlock the door & go through it.

I'm glad you're making such progress getting this all processed. I know that will stand you in good stead in pursuing your health and weight loss going forward.

One of the things about dropping all the baggage is, it seems like it isn't a one-time thing. Sometimes we inadvertently pick some of it back up again, and have to re-drop it. But hopefully you'll re-pickup less and less of it each time and soon it will all be left behind.

Glad you're back!
