Great pic of our plans vs. the universe's plans. Too funny, but yet, so true! Don't be discouraged about the past week, our bodies are so unpredictable, I give up trying to understand it all and just try to trust the process, as our pal Chris would say. You're doing great! Staying on track mentally is more than half the battle and you've certainly got that part down.

Catching Fire was excellent! I can't wait for the last one, I have high hopes for it. I think that was the first time in my life I didn't have popcorn at the movies! But it sure smelled delicious.

Can't ever have too many xmas movies, I say!

Hi Bren! No, I'm just keeping on...I get frustrated or perplexed sometimes but I won't ever give up.

I'll probably end up seeing Catching Fire again before the end of the weekend as DD hasn't seen it yet! The last book will be 2 movies, apparently...I haven't read the books so I dunno why other than to assume there is alot of detail they wanna make sure they get right. Oh man, you're a much stronger woman than I! Popcorn... My most fave food on the planet, I think!

Really good HC day yesterday food wise... water...not-so-much. :/
We were out most of the day and it just totally got away from me. I did quite a bit once we were home in the evening, but I did not want to spend my entire night up & down to the loo I think I came in at about 100oz..

I'll tell ya though.....holy whoosh, Batman!!

....232.4

I'm assuming my body enjoys what I'm doing now and figures it's safe to release? Of course, there's the very huge (more than likely) chance that it'll bounce up after tomorrow's reward day.. Sure was nice to see a number closer to the bottom end of the 30's though! For today: I'll try and enjoy it!

I am really REALLY bummed out today....DS can't come home.. he got stuck working tonight and it just is not worth the treck tomorrow to stay for only a couple hours and then turn around and go back.. My first thought was we could all head down to him and spend the day...well, DD19 has to be at work by like 5pm.... Ugh, the whole thing is just really sucky! He has somewhere to be, there are friends who are staying at school through the weekend so he won't be alone...but I truly truly wanted to see him!

Alrighty, well, time to get on the leftover stuff to get done and work on getting the turkey completely defrosted... I hate this part

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

Danielle I love some alone time. Tonight the house will be empty and I'm going to do some baking and watch some shmaltzy TV. I love Hallmark channel but I have to have a box of Kleenex nearby...

I'll try to report in later and see what's going on....

I'm sorry about DS not being able to come home! That really sucks. Can you at least Skype with him or something? Not the same, I know.

But look at your loss! WOWOWOWOWOW! I mean, seriously, look at what you've done just this month! It's wonderful!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your gang, friend.

Enjoy your baking! Not doing hardly any baking this year....no one can really eat it that's here! Of course, now that I think about it...I may do some this weekend and send it to DS since he isn't going to be here
Can't tell ya how many movies I've bawled over from Hallmark

It does suck. We'll chat with him, but you're right, it's not the same. I think I was most worried that he'd be alone there, but he says there's kids all over that aren't going anywhere..sooooo...mama bear will try not to worry

Aw thanks! Out of anyone, I am the most shocked at my progress I am so grateful to feel content with what I am doing!

Have a wonderful holiday, Carol!!

Yeah, it was a somber day here when he called to tell us... just not real happy right now...I know I need to get used to the idea that my kids won't be with me for *every* holiday at some point, just not this year!

Oh honey! I will do whatever I can, I promise!

First, go to chris powell's site and read what you can there. That will kind of get you started on what the basics are for the program...also his FB has info too! If you can, get the book Choose More, Lose More, For Life--that's the one I'm following...either from the bookstore or see if your library has it. It's an easy read as the last half of the book is exercise & recipes.. PM me if you need to, also. I'm here! LMK what else you need, ok?

Edited to add: The only reason I'm suggesting going to his site is because it will do a MUCH better job of explaining things better than I will.... I don't want to confuse you right outta the gate!

Uh, yeah, well, thanks for that brief encounter with the new low....it didn't stick, and I dunno that I knew it would It was nice while it lasted, though!
---------------------

Used my reward day yesterday...so worth it. Turkey turned out major perfect, and everything else did too. It was tough not having DS home, but we got through and managed to have a pretty good day. DS ended up with some friends for the evening--much to mama bear's relief! DD19 had work at 6pm....DH & I ended up at the mall when we dropped her off and stayed to shop alittle for DD17. Was not overly crowded and we only stayed out for about 90min or so..

So, back at it today. LC day today and time to ignore all the leftovers in the fridge

Congrats on the new low!! Wow you are melting!

I hear you on the leftovers, a DD for me and I have to wait til tomorrow to have dessert. I was too full last night. It certainly proves to me that the tummy does shrink down after a few DD's. I don't know how shopped last night, I was a zombie by 8:00. I sat down in DH's recliner about 9:30 and fortunately for me, my youngest grand daughter crawled into my lap and fell asleep...giving me ample excuses to 'stay put' and direct inquiring minds to help themselves to more food or drinks. Today I feel so lazy. I'm about to go find a bad movie to fall asleep in front of....

Thanks! But, it didn't stick for long Hoping to get back to it in a few days...praying!

We had to take DD to work so it wasn't too much of a stretch to stay for awhile...we even ventured to Best Buy....that was a total zoo... great deals on some movies for like $4 ea. though! We were home and in bed by like 10:30..of course I had to come home and make sure I got my pumpkin pie before the day was over
I was kinda grateful that we opted out of going to the movies because then I woulda had popcorn...and THEN the scale woulda been up even MORE.

Lots of Hallmark movies on today....just sayin...

I'll be completely alone from about 2pm on until about 8 today... I think there is a nap with my name on it

omg I would die if I had to work today I can't think of the last time that I've been this tired It must be all the food from yesterday--apparently I snored *major* last night DH tells me this morning, "I figured it was from all the carbs."

Need to take DD to the grocery for some goodies for her store, and then it's off to work for her and then coming home to a nice quiet house

Oh, and totally forgot that DH and I went to the huge craft fair down at the high school this morning...so many cute things! We got a few new things for Christmas this year. Still cannot find anyone that crochets/knits/quilts, that actually does stockings...so perplexing to me

Well, yesterday was alot harder than I anticipated. I was hungry alot of the day...must be those cravings for the junky carbs I admit, I struggled for most of the afternoon even pecking alittle bit at leftovers

So not too shabby for the end of the month all things considering w/ the wonky month I had with TOM 2x--down 5 lbs.. SO much better than being UP, right?

Doing another LC day today and hoping for a completely clean day. I need to get rid of this bloat!!

Hi Danielle,
I'm subbing! I did Chris Powell's Chose More, Lose More for a little over a week at the beginning of November (I think I lost about 8 lbs in that time), and it was working wonderfully and I was never hungry. I ended up quitting because of stress and subsequent binges...I do want to go back to carb cycling in January, since I don't think I can do it in December. Anyway, you have done really well on it so far and I look forward to reading your journey as you go through it. Keep up the good work!

Hi Chantal, thanks for stopping in! Wow, you had a great first week, that's awesome! The program definitely calls for major committment and planning, that's for sure. I tried to do it way back in June but I wasn't ready for it. There's a couple other ladies around here who I think plan on starting in Jan. as well. Will be nice to not feel completely alone doing this!

No, I haven't done any exercise since starting. I struggle with this part of any plan...just totally unmotivated when it comes to sweating...

Okay, so I am looking over my calendar for December, and I may be able to work my reward days to fall on my social events in December. The only week that may be hard is the week of Christmas. But I might go ahead and do this again (And hopefully stick to it this time even if stress comes) and keep you company! Do you find weighing daily works for you? I usually weigh only once a week, but I have done daily weigh-ins in the past!

Well, technically Chris doesn't recommend daily weighing but I'm too much of a sucker for it For me, personally, it keeps me accountable and to own what is going on on a day-to-day basis. He says Thursday is the truest day to weigh in.

As for Christmas...I am just switching my reward day to that day, instead of Friday.

I might join you with the daily weighing I could see how it would keep my accountable. As long as I don't get upset when I have a small gain or a smaller loss than I wanted, I should be good I'm going to pull out my Chose More, Lose More book and refresh my memory tonight on certain aspects of it. Are you doing the Classic or Turbo?

Yeah, the daily thing can get tedious and disappointing sometimes, if ya let it! I've had weeks where I bobbled back and forth between 2 numbers for no apparent reason..and uh, yeah, thanksgiving has me now UP nearly 3lbs Praying that it is gone before the end of this coming week!

I STILL refer to my book at least 1 or 2x a week it's crazy how much information that's in there!

I dunno if you caught any of my ramblings last week--I was going to do a whole month of Turbo just to see how the losses differed, as I had originally started cycling with Classic... Well, 1 full week of Turbo and I lost nothing.. I went back to Classic last week and I guess that's where I'll stay until it stops working!

Wow, that's crazy you didn't lose anything on Turbo I would have definitely switched back as well!

That 3 lbs from Thanksgiving is probably mostly water weight

Yeah I was feeling pretty crummy about it and then I started reading about a few others who experienced the same thing as I did after switching from Classic.. altho' they started to not see good losses on classic which is why they switched, so it was doubly disappointing for them, I'm sure! There was one woman who I was conversing with for a little bit that started from the get-go with Turbo and after 7 weeks had lost nothing. She would gain after reward day and spend the week relosing that gain and nothing more. I dunno how she hung on for 7 weeks...I'm not even sure if now she's even following the plan or if she tried switching to classic, or what

I know that I did not overdo anything, did not binge or gorge on food at all for the holiday. Just hoping that it comes off easily!
