You had me at Taco

lets see I started 10.5.13 for the billionth time. I'm older, wiser and less vulanable to my emotions. Not sayting I never give in because I do, however I have been thinking things over before shoveling pounds of food into me. I cant believe I can actually ask my self why do I want to eat (...)
Or its actually that I am really depressed....

I have had a few days of higher carbs. Actually its on the days I am not working. I have noticed I eat mindlessly out of boredum. I know I have always done this but now I ask my self why am I bored and why cant I do what ever it is I actually want to do. My usualy answer is money which triggers stress and a highly negative emotion which in turn makes me run to the kitchen for anything to shovel in my mouth.

Lugging my lard around has gotten so difficult over the last few years. As I get older I have put on more weight. I have maintained 312 for close to 20 years give or take the times I have lost 100 lbs. Never kept it off long. It never bothered me physically to carry all this extra weight until I woke up one moring and realized I could no longer bend my leg up to put my sock on. Did I just wake up and realize this or had it been happening all along. idk

10.5.13.....354
11.19.13....336
not as fast as I would like it to come off but its off.

You know what, I weigh myself in kilograms at work and it makes me feel so much better than weighing in with lbs. It's really tricking my mind seeing those smaller numbers. This is good for me.

I have been eating those 1mm but I have not been mixing in the egg. Just using flax meal with water and nuke it for 2m. put on cream cheese and strawberry sugar free jelly. one table spoon is 5 carbs 2 fibers. I cant believe I can eat this and still lose weight. down to 332.8 now

my mock Thanksgiving is underway. I made turkey gravy with xanthangum. It was great. I am standing over the stove devouring it with turkey. I am was so amazed it came out so well. So much so that I couldnt stop eating it. Now to find a sugar free low carb cream pie.

I hope my little girl has fun in NY this TDay I will be missing her.

Eating lowcarb always gives me the most vivid dreams. I had whole heap these past few weeks but this last one was funny to me. Gerard Butler and I switched houses. The last time I did lowcarb I would have nightmares about eating apples or pizza and in the dream I would be mad at myself to blowing it but I haven't had anything like that this time as of yet. I hope I dont. This time is different for me. This time its just how I am going to eat.

feeling really frustrated at my numbers. Maybe getting older is the cause of my slow loss. I am still only down 23lbs. Maybe I will cut down on my diet mountain dew and just drink it at work. which is only 4 nights a week. I have one more pound to lose before I hit my first little goal by my birthday which is in two weeks. hope it I get there.

Good morning, ELL. Just popped in to say hello and tell you that I can't believe you are frustrated with your numbers. My goodness! You've lost about a pound a day! I would call that very impressive. You must be doing something right to have been so successful. To have lost 23 lbs. already doesn't seem at all slow to me. So keep it up, girl, and keep up your spirits. You should be feeling so proud of yourself.

Have a wonderful day, ELL.

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement Lola. I saw a picture of myself and thought my weightloss was a drop of water in an ocean and got angry with my self. I neglected myself for many years and allowed others negative thoughts about me become my own instead of forming my OWN thoughts about me. Took me way too long to get out of that habit and its taken me even longer to start taking care of my self.

Thank You again
Be Blessed

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, ELL. I really liked what you said as I too was a lurker for a while and I've gained so much knowledge and encouragement from these boards. I, like you, am grateful for the willingness of others to share their struggles and wisdom.

I hope you have a beautiful day in which everything goes well for you.

boy was I feeling sappy on tday. just missing my daughter I guess. she was up in NY with her boyfriend. I am not sure but I am feeling some sort of empty nest thing even tho I have my son with me. I am glad I decided to change my eating. makes me feel more control and I could kick myself because I see how easy I can do it. Maybe I am just honest with myself for the first time. anyways... I am down 4lbs which puts me past the 6lbs I wanted to lose before my birthday. ten more pounds and I will be at the number I weighed for nearly 17 years. I was this weight in my 20's my 30's I don't want to be that number in my 40's so I am taking my last few years to get it together before I get there.
I have never had issues with sleeping except for the fact that that is all I wanted to do now I am having trouble sleeping sometimes. This is not normal for me. I work nights so I have to figure out what's up. Is it my eating or my emtional self?

Life gets complicated when you work nights. Many years ago my DH did that and everything seemed so askew, especially since I worked during the daytime. Lately I've been feeling a little sappy too for a number of reasons but probably mostly due to the normal winter blues. I think you should be feeling pretty much on top of the world regarding your successful weight loss...you are doing so well and that is something to be proud of, for sure.

Just stopping by to say hello, ELL. I hope things are going well for you.
I keep thinking of your mentioning that you ate your bacon with chocolate syrup. That really surprised me as I'd never heard of a such a combo. But the combining of salty and sweet makes sense to me. I remember that when we were young we sometimes would eat potato chips along with our ice cream.
And in the south, many years ago, I saw people put salted peanuts into a bottle of coke and drink/eat the mixture...apparently it was a common practice in some communities at the time...I don't know if such a mix is still in favor but I was fascinated when I first observed people doing that.

I hope you have a good day, ELL.

I haven't had bacon since that last time. I have been eating what I call meat soup. I make some bone broth and I use that as a base and put some meat in and what ever low carb veg I have in the house. The last few days its been squash. I am no gourmet chef and I usually eat the same thing over and over until its gone because I am really lazy. But I do cook breakfast and dinner for my children every day and night. But me I go with whats fast and very filling so I dont get distracted by what I make them and when I am hungry I can't focus and I would end up eating anything to shut my stomach up. But not anymore. eating this way is the Only way I have found to control my bottomless pit of a stomach.

I am 2.5 lbs away from my first goal. after that I will actually feel like I am losing weight. I will be there in a few days.

Happy New Year to everyone. May the blessing of the Lord be upon you always!

Hi Ell' I just found your journal, You are doing great. Your numbers blows my mind. I can't believe you think you are doing slow. I would give my eye teeth to go that fast. Keep up the great work you have done. You will be at goal before you know it.

I agree with Windygap...your numbers are fantastic.

My meals sound much like yours. On weekends my husband grills steak and fish so I eat that but most weeknights I also have 'meat soup' similar to yours...currently beef broth, beef, leftover cauliflower, broccoli, or green beans, butter & CO, seasoned with curry, extra turmeric and cumin. Yum. And, like you, I am perfectly content eating the same thing every night.

Hi ELL
I see you started on 10/5 which is my birthday. So we will share a "birthday" next year when you make your year mark. Good for you...and you made it through the holidays (which I didn't). This will be a better year!
