Keto lifestyle for me. #30 pounds to goal.

Hello!

I have decided that it's time to put some words to my thoughts as a way to formalize my keto lifestyle journey. Time to make myself honest and hold me accountable to what I am doing to body.

Starting today, I will journal my eating habits, where I am failing and how I am being successful in this lifelong journey.

Morning Blood sugar 96
Ketones 0.2mm

Need to get the ketones up. I think I am eating too many carbs so I will work a bit harder at tracking everything that passes my lips.

Have an all day conference today so this might be a bit of a challenge.

Will return tonight with some thoughts during the day.
If I can figure out how to do this on my ipad.... will continue during the day.
Bear with me as I figure out what I am doing.

Day one is coming to a close. It is now 2200 and I have survived.
My eating today was pretty good. Don't believe that I ate anything that was "terrible".
I ate a good breakfast, my usual scrambled egg in butter with 1/4c of Jimmy Dean sausage pieces. Coffee with heavy cream and 1 tablespoon of MCT oil, blended.

For snack I had a Poly O cheese stick and another cup of coffee with half and half.

Lunch at my seminar was a boxed lunch. YUCK! I picked the roast beef off the bun and ate a piece of cheddar cheese. That was all that was ketogenic to eat. Drank some water and put the rest away.

For snacks I did have about a cup of popcorn that they had as snack. It was quite delicious I must say but my tracker says it had about 6 carbs so I guess that's pretty good.

Went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the elliptical and lifted some weights. Got up to 75 pounds on the arms which is a first for me. Started at 40 so I am proud of this.

Dinner was a chef salad (about a cup + with some meat, cheese and dressing)
Dessert was some 86% Ghiradelli chocolate. It is my one pleasure that I eat each day. My challenge is stopping after a piece of two. Tonight I had 2 pieces and stopped. Yay!

I am feeling hungry tonight and struggling for what to eat. Seems the more I read, the more I read that nuts is not really good to eat as a snack. So now what am I going to eat. I love almonds.... macadamia nuts,. Know peanuts are not good....

I guess it's time to go to bed. Then I won't have to think about food anymore.
Thanks all for listening.
It's time for some zzzzz's.

Happy Halloween!

Good Morning,

It's Halloween. Have the candy ready for the kids - unless my husband eats it before they arrive tonight. It's a big temptation for him. Not me.

Had my usual breakfast and for some reason I felt hungry today. So, hoping that I can work through these odd feelings of hunger. Is it really hunger?

Need some more ideas of what to eat that will keep protein down, fat high and carbs gone.....

Weight down 1.5 today to 185.3.

Need to keep drinking my water. It's easy to go for hours and forget for me.

Hoping for a great day at work.

Happy Halloween everyone.

Happy Halloween! But not a favorite day of mine! Too much temptation!
Last night I wanted to devour some of the candy, but held off with munching on cheese sticks instead.

You are on the right path! KUTGW!

Happy Halloween to you! The kids are far and few tonight. I guess that means more candy left over for my husband. He is enjoying that. Haven't had any illegal candy today.

What I did eat I am now sorry for. I was wanting a piece of candy and bought a bag of russel stovel sugar free (sugar alcohol) chocolate. Ate the whole bag.... couldn't stop once I started. Had about 6 pieces and now my stomach is exploding from the sugar alcohol and the flatulence is unreal. I guess I just have to be reminded how this feels to not do this again for a long, long time.

November is here!

Happy November 2013!

Today was a difficult day at work. Had some issues with a manager that caused some stress. I stayed the course but probably ate a bit too many almonds.
I guess it could be worse. I didn't eat any sugar free chocolate like I did yesterday. So, all in all a good day.

Trying to do some Fat Fast days. Need to read more. 1000 calories in 5 small 200 calories meals. I think this is what I need.

Anyone have any experience with this?
Any suggestions?

Ready for the weekend.

It's been a while since I have posted. It has been quite hectic the past few days with family in town. My son and his wife had their wedding reception this past weekend. Fun for all.
Now it's time to get back to the real life of trying to get my health back. My ankles are swelling since yesterday and I am not sure why. I think this is why my weight has jumped. My diet has been pretty good. Today I will log everything in an attempt to regain my normalcy.
I feel good when I am following the LCHF lifestyle. I just wish more people would understand and follow with me.
