Thank you Lola

I just realized I have only been doing this for 2 months yesterday. Wow. Feels like I have been doing it a lot longer.

I agree with Lola. Your doctor is going to be super happy with your progress. You have lost a lot of weight in just two months and you look terrific.

So first thing my doctor said is that I look amazing@!@@ Then he informed me that a year ago, my bad cholesterol was at 170, and as of last month when I did my last blood work, my bad cholesterol is at 90! He was very impressed that I did that without meds I redid bloodwork today, and will get the results tomorrow. He said we might have to start adjusting my synthroid again the smaller I get The appointment has been scheduled for Monday to have the diagnostic breast exam done. Then we go from there.

I just busted my booty at zumba! It was amazing. Saw some old friends I haven't seen in ages, sweated a ton of fat off (I hope). Now I am hungry again lol.

B~Hamburger topped w/ american cheese, guacamole and ortega taco sauce
S~endulge bar
L~(leftovers at my sisters house) sauerkraut and kielbasa
D~heiny helper

I am about to eat something soon, but not sure what yet. I ate an early dinner so my stomach wouldn't be full during class. And, now I am hungry again!!

So...hungry was an understatement last night. I ate a handful of pork rinds, a small handful of nuts and a sf jello w/ redi whip. Insane. And, what did I wake up to?? You got it, Aunt Flo has arrived lol. The good thing is that what I ate was all lc.

The heiny helper was okay. I gave my kids tortillas to wrap it into burritos with, and I just ate a bowl of it. I probably wouldn't make it again though. I didn't think it was that great. It wasn't bad, just not amazing.

Aunt Flo...LOL...I never heard that before but it is perfect [and funny]!

What exactly is heiny helper? Is it some sort of ground beef concoction?

I just knew your doctor would be proud of you! You have done so well. Good for you for trying the Zumba again. So no problems with it?

Funny how our bodies warn us that we are getting a visit soon from our Aunt. You get hungrier, I want to devour sweets... Hope you lose weight while she is here. I do and then I gain again for a day at the end. Another weird quinckydink.

B~1/2 c dreamfields penne w/ homemade alfredo sauce
L~8 wings baked then topped w/ hot sauce and ranch
S~2 clouds
D~mim w/ butter
Drink~mInute maid light raspberry fruit drink w/tea (found it at the store, 3 carbs for 8 oz.~it tastes pretty good...a nice treat)

Tonight, I bought some sugarfree peppermints and peppermint flavoring (like vanilla) and I am thinking about making a batch of peppermint clouds I think it will taste amazing. Gonna grind up about 4 of those mints and sprinkle them on top for garnish and a little extra crunch.

I worked tonight, and my knees are still feeling great. I think I am ready to start exercising regularly again. I feel so invincible right now. Tonight, a family that comes in every year around the holidays came in. When they saw me, the wife was like, WOW...you look amazing One of my coworkers that only works about once a week, walked up to me and said you really have lost some weight, I didn't recognize you from behind!! LOVE IT>

Lisa, I bet peppermint cloud would be delicious -- especially at this time of year. I always crave minty things when the holidays are here. I love the wonderful reactions you are getting from friends, family, doctors and co-workers on your weight loss. That should be very motivating that everyone sees how great you look!

Oh, I so agree with Gail. It is really wonderful when others notice that you are looking good. The only thing better is being able to fit in smaller clothes. Both experiences give one a real boost and are very motivating.
So glad to hear that your doctor's appointment went well. Your improved cholesterol numbers are really impressive.

Lisa, I love that website (All Day I Dream about Food) -- the blogger, Carolyn, is really fabulous and I make her recipes quite often. She is a runner, a mom and an avid low carber (not to mention a great cook and a wonderful writer). She also looks like a young Grace Kelly! You will enjoy that cookie recipe that is for sure!

The cranberry sauce was delicious. I used about 3/4 c ideal sweetener and sugar free raspberry preserves (seedless). Andrew, who doesn't like cranberries, said he would try it since I made it, and he said it was very good!!

The gravy was good as well, but I think I put too much hwc in it. Next time just a wee bit. I can't wait to make pan dripping gravy for thanksgiving. This xantham gum is opening a whole new world for me

Went to my mom and dad's tonight. I think my mom is starting to get it!!! She saw me, and complimented me, and then said she was making steaks and salad to help me stick on plan I am so proud of her!!! She has always been a diet sabotager for me in the past. Making delicious food and tempting me with just a little bite...made it special for you...you know that kind of mom.

S~sf lime jello w/redi whip, beef smoky
B~(very late, we were out running erands early, hence the weird snacks early in the a.m.) jumior whopper w/ cheese, no bun
L~mashed cauli w/gravy, roasted chicken, broccoli casserole and cranberry sauce
D~ny strip steak dipped in au jus, iceberg lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cheddar and bacos topped w/ homemade italian dressing.
S~slice of roasted chicken topped w/cranberry sauce

My day started at 6 this morning. Seems like a lot of food today, but they were definitely all small portions. Tomorrow morning is my diagnostic test. Hope all goes well!

B~leftover chinese
L~chicken noodle soup (made the "noodles" out of scrambled eggs drizzled into the simmering broth~it was pretty good!!)
S~3 clouds
D~2 grilled chicken skewers, broccolini, salad
Late night at the bowling alley Had 6 hot parmesan wings, 2 "vodka pops" (absolute, soda and a lime)

The only frustrating thing about today was I went to my appointment. I KNOW my doctor's nurse told me Monday at 8:30 a.m. When I got there this morning, they said I am scheduled for Wednesday at 8:20 a.m.

Tonight was "service night" at our local bowling alley. Anyone in the service industry got shoe and lane rental for free. So, a bunch of people from work went up there and we bowled our asses off! I did not bowl so well, but had a blast! (3 games) Then we shot a few games of pool. Needless to say, extra exercise!! Plus I worked all night, so double duty. I am tired and ready to crash.

One of the best treats I get to have without any guilt is maxwell house international cafe, suisse mocha. YUM YUM YUM> sugar free, decaf. I top it with redi whip and it really is a huge treat. I am having a mugful right now and it is making me feel all warm and wintery inside...kinda want to crawl back into bed! Hot drinks do that to me lol.

So, most of the compliments I have received have been from people who haven't really seen me often lately. They see me and instantly it registers that I look slimmer. BUT...for the past two shifts I have worked, several coworkers have told me I look amazing. Now these are people that see me A LOT...it feels so good. My hair is getting longer and I can pull it back into a ponytail again, and it really showcases my slimmer face

Congrats! You are doing so great! I LOVE xanthan gum, it is totally worth the investment. I actually put mine in a shaker because very little is needed and it can clump easily. I tried to use "only" a tsp in a soup once and it turned to thick gooey jello -- so be very careful!!! Start with sprinkles, and give it a few minutes to work, especially if it's a hot food. It is fantastic for low carbing!

Right now I have my biggest pan filled w/ bacon and cabbage and it is cooking up. My house smells so delicious. I am slovenian and hungarian, and cabbage is a mainstay in our culture. (dumplings too, but we won't focus on that) I made enough to last me for the week.

I was thinking about trying an lc type version of stuffed cabbage. I know a lot of people doing lc "rice" use cauliflower. I was wondering if I made some of that rice, and mixed it with ground beef and spices and then stuffed the cabbage leaves...do you think it would work? Just thinking about it. I might try it after Thanksgiving. I love stuffed cabbage and haven't had it in a long time. I could pretty much adapt the sauce recipe. I have Ideal brown sugar.
