Newbie Here!

A long story short, I gained 10 pounds over the last year and I refuse to buy bigger clothes! I decided to try the Low Carb way of eating because 12 years ago, after I gained the freshman 25, I went 21 days eating a lower carb diet and lost about 18 pounds. I wasn't even strict back then because I wasn't very knowledgeable about the diet as I am now. However, now I seem to be doing everything right and I don't get nearly as good of results as last time. Back then I would eat popcorn and sugary drinks and still lost it! Well, I'm not an active 18 year old anymore, I'm 30 and I need you guys' help. I think my family is tired of hearing me whining considering I'm not obese but that doesn't mean I'm not uncomfy.

NishaBelle, welcome back! You certainly are not overweight but I understand the feeling of wanting to look your best. Do you have Dr. Atkins low carb diet books -- particularly the original one? If not, no worries. There is a ton of information on the web if you want to follow Atkins. If that plan is not right for you, there are so many other low carb options from South Beach to Bernstein to Paleo.

If you can keep your carb count under 20 for the first two weeks and then extend it up to 30-40 grams thereafter, you should be able to lose a good amount of weight. Then you will need to find a maintenance way of eating that works best for you.

Good luck. You can do this.

I am exactly the same, I lost 2 stone on Atkins about 10 years ago (when I was 20) and I found it REALLY easy... tried it again at the beginning of this year and OMG can't stick to it and when I did I was still losing really slowly that's why I've turned to JUDDD!

Good luck though, I look forward to reading how you're getting on x
