Taking charge of my health and my life! Marie's Journal

Hello all. This is my new journal. I have been a yo yo dieter for a long time, but I have always had the most success with a low carb way of eating. I have realized that this is the best way of eating for my body. The reason why I have always failed at doing this long term and reaching my goals is because I have a sugar addiction, and I would always overdo the sugar free sweets thinking they were free to indulge in all the time. I know this is a common problem.

My goal is to get rid of my sugar addiction by doing a clean Induction with very rare sweets and MORE vegetables than I was having in previous attempts. 2 packs of Splenda or Stevia a day (one for my morning coffee, one for my evening tea) until I feel that my addiction is gone. I'd also like to stay in Induction until I get to 150, which is my first mini goal.

I start tomorrow. I'm really excited!

Congrats Marie on starting...the hardest part! I am just a week in to low carb eating. I know this is best for my body also, but I too have a sugar issue . Let's support each other on our journey to healthy!

Hi Jackie! Thanks for your support, it's nice to have someone around to read my journal. Good luck today!

Today is my first day and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I am worried about my sugar cravings though.

coffee with coconut oil, half n half and 2 splenda [3]
2 fried eggs [1]
3 pieces bacon [0]

making chicken curry tonight with green beans and riced cauliflower! With snacks in between of course!

Sounds great Marie! I had coffee with 1/2 and 1/2 and splenda....3 cups. Lunch was salad with chopped turkey/cheese/bacon and low fat ranch and water. I am daydreaming about a cookie/brownie/peice of cake...lol. Not gonna do it! I have some crystal light for my sweet cravings, hopefully that will help. Stay Strong!!!

Some days I HAVE to have a low carb treat because my cravings are so bad. I do find that I crave sweets less and less as my Induction days go by
Hope you did well today!

For some reason I can't edit my posts! Maybe it's because I'm new?

Im gonna have to look up the recipe for the pudding! Sounds delicious! I had a strange concoction for dinner...left over baked chicken/cubed, with steamed cauliflower, a few brussel sprouts, olive oil, butter....all in the same bowl. small dish low carb creamed spinich (didnt turn out very well)
snack-a small handful of almonds
water-water-water.

Does the liquid splenda not have carbs? Gonna need to get that!

Sounds like you had a great day!! Stayed on plan--woohoo!

I love making 'concoctions' ! I come up with some great recipes that way!
Liquid splenda has no carbs Splenda itself doesn't have carbs, they just have to add some sort of starch (which contains carbs) to it to make it granular, like the way it is in the packets.

Weighed in today. Lost 3 pounds since yesterday! I'm assuming it was water weight, but still!

coffee with heavy cream, 2 splenda and coconut oil [2]
2 fried eggs [1]
3 pieces bacon

atkins snack bar (I only had one lying around the house, I definitely won't be having this again [3]
a few altoids [1]
2 boiled eggs chopped with mayo [2]
chicken curry with riced cauliflower [3]
cheesecake pudding [6]

[17]

probably should have had more veggies today.

3 pounds!!!!!! Fantastic! Water weight is weight too, it counts! I picked up some ez sweet (liquid splenda) today..think that will help. I tend to drink several cups of coffee daily...wasted carbs in the packet splenda! I tried an atkins bar yesterday and didnt care for it either. Stayed on plan today, still dreaming of a cookie though...lol.
2 fried eggs with 2 sausage, coffee with 1/2 & 1/2, splenda
1 piece of wheat toast with butter...hadn't had bread in a week.
salad with chopped chicken, boiled egg and ranch dressing
pork rinds and some cheddar cheese
1/4 of my daughters fried pickle.
diet orange soda.
I am down 7 pounds since I started. Could probably be doing better, but I don't want to feel completely limited. (Shouldnt have had the toast!)
Keep up the great work!!~!! Hope you have a great day tomorrow!
