Down -.6 to 129.0. Very nice after 1530 calories & 30 min on the treadmill. Keeping on doing the same until I stop losing then will add back good carbs to induction levels. Today pushing the calories to about 1650 since I want to see where I can go. I must say it is a pleasant surprise though these are not new numbers for me it's great to see them during the week.

Did some reading last night to get a refresher on Atkins and the different levels since I want to ease up on the carbs. We'll see what happens.

Done with all my testing. The last few days were so stressful waiting to go back from my breast ultrasound. I think doing the M&E fast helped me get my focus off today.

So got to the hospital which is stressful as it is. Never had a breast ultrasound before and boy was it scary. I'm lying there saying the "Our Father" over and over in my head. Analyzing why she is focused so long on this area vs another area. Thinking for sure it's cancer. Whose going to take care of my family, the cats you name it I'm thinking it.

Then it's over but "oh wait" they need a comprehensive mammogram too. Didn't your Dr call that in ? No he didn't and a what mammogram. Now I am convinced this is bad. So another 30 minutes and a free chair massage later I am getting the comprehensive mammogram.

By this point I have a headache and so stressed I can barely get a few words out. By the way this mammogram was super uncomfortable and it hurt ! Luckily I got the results and I have calcifications in both breasts. Nothing I need to worry about or do a biopsy but I do have to have another comprehensive mammogram in 6 months. If the pattern hasn't changed then routine mammogram with ultrasound but if there is a change then a biopsy.

After that I called my hubby, said another thank you prayer and took the day off from work. Going to just lay on my couch and nap

Down -.2 to 128.8 and had 1650 in calories with 30 min on the treadmill. So far so good. No plans to change anything so far until I see the scale stop or I keep adding calories. Feel very satisified, energy up, mood good, stomach issues are gone and so far still regular on the bathroom front Am taking all my supplements and lots of water just to be sure.

down -.2 to 128.6 with 1650 in calories and 30 min on the treadmill. Feel fine and no issues so far. This would be day 5 of the M&E. Again not new numbers since the lowest I've seen on occasion was 127.6 and a few times while doing the 5:2 diet 125-126.

Just going to keep at it and haven't really decided when to add back more carbs. Right now with the foods I am choosing some naturally contain carbs so essentially I am around net 5 or 1 %. But I just don't feel the urge to change things around right now. It seems to be working

Busy weekend. Off tomorrow from work and will get my bi-weekly mani/pedi and then some light shopping. Need to get some things for hubby and son. Then around 4 pm will head back to his school to do some volunteer hours to set up for the Art & Craft Festival on Saturday. Not sure what to do about dinner though. May have to move up my eating times or just take an Atkins bar with me.

Saturday all day at the fair with the family and it's hamburgers, hot dogs & bbq so I can definitely do no carb. The sweets don't tempt me since I'll be surrounded by the opportunity to shop ! Sunday just relax and help my son with his Science report. That's it for now !!

STS 128.6 but it's all good. Not a gain. Let's see where I stabilize at if I keep eating this way. Getting my nails done now & some light shopping. Volunteering tomorrow since the school needs the help at my son's class booth. Actually much better for me since no set up or labor involved lol

The weird thing is my cravings are gone and what little hunger I had is also greatly diminished. I really thought I couldn't live without fruits & lc breads but it's not a hardship.

Pretty cool, would even be lower when you sleep in too. How many calories yesterday? 1650 again? I'd love to see how much you eat. Can you make your diary on other visible? The amounts for fat & meats specifically. I can't imagine being able to eat 1650 calories! but I sure would like to be able to do that.
Yesterday I had my lowest carb day, even with 4 cups of veggies, my calories were close to 1200 & I was full.
Are you doing the 8/16 ?
So funny we're so close to the same wt.

Yes Julie they were but I am glad it's over and the results were what they were. Huge relief & it makes you grateful for everything in life just a little more

The last day or 2 instead of full I get slightly nauseated. Then when I stop eating it does away. The key for me is to eat until hunger so I've been adding mayo/butter/bacon grease/evoo and will add some different good fats maybe CO. Next week I may try some avocado one day & see what happens.

OK. I can picture it now... that's a lot of eggs & sausage. I've been doing the same thing with adding home-made mayo with all my meats & eggs. Are nuts out on the M & E? That usually pushes my calories up, when I brave eating them.
Have a good rest!

down -.2 to 128.4 ! Today it is definitely a challenge to get the calories in, I'll do better tomorrow. Woke up & just made some bacon for breakfast. Then we were off to the fair. After I volunteered there was almost nothing for me to eat. Everything was cookies, cakes, breads. They had chicken tenders and burgers but at $5 each I just ate my son's left over cheeseburger after I took off the bread. But they did have a Key West vendor with original Conch fritter (nope breaded) but he had Conch ceviche. I had that & it was so good and refreshing after such a hot day. Didn't seem too carby.

Back home and I made a quick tuna & egg salad and dinner will be some grilled steak and more eggs.

From what I've read & I could be wrong but I see that people that make this a long term way of eating do add nuts and avocado and cheese but in moderation. I have some Hawaiian Macadamias that I have for baking or fat fasts and would love to have them for a snack. As long as I portion out the serving size then I know I can't over eat them. I may start next week adding avocado & if all is still well then may add some nuts myself & see what happens. Waiting for the scale to stop and keeping my fingers crossed that I see & then stick 125-126.

STS 128.4 and today is day 9 of the M&E fast so far so good. I've had continual drops and I am seeing tinier drops and then STS and so on. To be honest I am very happy even if I just STS with this WOE. I can eat more and if the scale continues to go down even if in tiny increments it just seems like the cherry on the top of the cake.

So to recap when I started on 10/12 I was 131.4 and today 10/20 I am 128.4 which is exactly down 3 lbs Even if I "lose" .5 a week in a month that's another 2 lbs which hopefully brings me to 126. So keeping on with what I've been doing. Will eventually add back in cheese or avocados and maybe some nuts and lettuce for a salad but right now have no immediate plans.

Up +.4 to 128.8. Yesterday had about 1650 in calories and did add in CO but only 1 tablespoon in my coffee. TOM is also coming next week so need to not make any changes or stress since the next 2 weeks there are going to be fluctations. Other than that nothing else new, still essentially zero carbs or realistically even on M&E they were 4 yesterday.

I promised myself if it's working make no tweaks or changes. So no plans to change anything since I know realistically the losses had already started to slow and I have very little body fat left anyway. With slower losses there are going to be some STS days and some days when you gain and then hopefully at the end a downward trend overall.

I guess I was spoiled for the last week and half Anyway even if I can just maintain at 128ish with 1500-1600 calories it's more than I could ask for. But we tend to get greedy. Will probably add an avocado some time this week and then cheese in moderation.

That's pretty cool, so when you add in the avocado will you still have your calories that high? say replace an egg?

Exactly. I bought the small Hass avocados at BJ's and one small avocado is the equivalent of 2 eggs or about so I can just switch. Same thing when I add back in cheese or other fats I'll just play with the calorie count. When I add back in lettuce that has such nominal calorie counts it won't make a difference.

That sounds good. Do you eat a whole one at once? They're so expensive here, wish I could! We always split one.
I'm looking forward to hearing how that goes for you.
The primal thing is going well for me. I've been able to 'up' my fats & protein considerably, but haven't made much progress on calories. I get so full!
Have a good sleep!

up +.6 to 129.4...had about 1500 calories and cut out the CO. Didn't exercise since I had no time with so many things this week for my son and school etc. Today will make sure to make time to exercise. Right now I'm tending to think any fluctuations are because tom is coming next week and I need to be patient and wait it out. My mood and energy are off so that's a big indicator as well that tom is coming.

I just don't want this to become another "thing". Something to tweak or stress or worry about. Then it becomes too diety and the exact thing I am trying to avoid which is why I stopped doing the 5:2 plan. I wanted to do the M& E fast and transition to lc so I can eat more and feel better when I exercise.

So today no changes other than make sure I make time to exercise. Tomorrow going to add avocado back in. The next day some cheese in my eggs. Calories about the same 1500 to 1600 and let's see. I will re-assess when tom comes and goes in about 2 weeks. Hopefully by then I will decide if to stay eating this way or start transitioning to 20 carbs.

I think the constant daily drops spolied me because looking back at my weight log before I had daily fluctuations up or STS and then eventually down. Need to focus on that.

I guess because it's Florida. At my BJ's 4 small Hass are $3.99 and there is always a co-worker bringing the big ones in from someone's backyard for free. Or just driving around there are farmers that sell their produce. The most expensive are at Publix but still not too over the top. I also get the pre packaged guacamole packs that are 100 calories and those are great as well.

I usually have the small Hass and by the time it's cut an really about a cup so about 145 calories.

Yep, breathe in - breath out! Its exactly what ends up getting us to cut back more & more, slowing the metabolism down... you're doing so well!

I'm so glad I don't have the monthly's to mess me up anymore (though I remember them well) The thing that messes with my numbers is regularity & changing schedules. But like you, I'm learning to hang in there. Trying not to tweak the calories & fat every time I see an up. Salt is another thing that I have been so leery of - that I'm trying to ignore, because I'm supposed to have salt too.
Have a good day! Enjoy your treadmill!

Morning +.8 130.2. Oh well sticking to my guns per se and not changing anything. Today I'm adding back in avocado and then a little cheese tomorrow. Not sure if it's my body just doing it's own thing and got used to the no carb or if it's just tom is coming next week.

So since I do not want to stress or fret about the if and whys, just going to let things be for now. Let's see what the scale says during the weekend when I get in more sleep. After that see what happens when tom actually gets here & then leaves. So it's really 2 weeks before I decide if this worked or not.

Worse comes to worse I don't lose any more weight but I revved up my metabolism where I can eat more. So overall it's a win - win situation if viewed this way.

What I do know after I'm done I do want to add back in some good carbs and at least keep it for a while at induction levels and add back in some salads, cucumbers, squash, cherry tomato, onion which are my favorite. That way I can give the eggs a break

Also I've noticed I'm posting less and less on the HCG weight loss threads. I've decided to still check in every once in a while but be cautious. I've noticed continually reading about people who are still in the active losing phase or discouraged with a certain phase of their journey or those that just want to lose another 5 or 10 lbs does not encourage a healthy maintenance mind set for me.

I thought I had pretty much conquered that but I noticed when I did the M&E fast some of the old thinking tried to creep back in (the tweaking, quick fixes, too much satisfaction from the scale drops, try another thing, get a little lower, disatisfaction in what I've accomplished, etc.) I was focusing too much on the continual drops than the health benefits which what I had started this whole thing to begin with (eat more & exercise more). Next thing I knew I wanted to get lower and wanted to get to 125-126 So when the scale started to creep up for whatever reason I started to feel discouraged. I hadn't thought like that for months. I had felt so good and now I was starting to feel down. So today I decided to put a stop to that immediately and focus on healthy behaviors.

I totally get what you're saying!! I refer to it as hcg greed! The fast and large losses from hcg are always so tempting and make me dissatisfied with the other good things in our lifestyles-exercise, healthy eating, maintenance - which are all good things, but seeing the scale go down is really intoxicating!! I'm there this week as I take a P3 break. I'm hoping the scale goes down? While I'm eating a lt more? Really? we get a bit spoiled.

You're doing great. If you're content w/ m&e then stick with it. If you're gaining back to where you were when you started and you miss your salads and fruit, you can go back to that too. It's hard and frustrating I'm sure, but follow your instincts. You're smart and successful so don't doubt your own I intuition .

Thanks Julie I think I will just keep with my orginal plan which the M&E and start to add some good fats like avocado & cheese and take things one day at a time ! But yes HCG messes with our expectations and not just the losses part but as to any little blip up I need to fight that constant urge to fix it !

Good morning,
Sounds good. Most likely the "up" is hormonal... gotta break the power it gets over ya... wouldn't it be great to just know that you're gonna 'puff' up 2-3 lbs at TOM times... most likely its helpful for what's going on with that!

Up +.4 130.6. Seems like last week was all downs and this will be a week of ups ! Talk about ups and downs Anyway definitely tom is in the horizon since I'm still moody and have cramps & tenderness. Actually letting go of the negative feelings I had a few days ago. Just focusing on keeping my calories at 1500-1600. I added back in avocado and will do the same today (before they go bad).

Need to buy cheese though since the only one I have at home is my son's shredded chedder and a smoked hard cheese my mother in law brought back from Honduras.

Yesterday I was at 11 carbs. Going to keep it carb light until I build up to 20 again. Then stick to that for a while before I decide if to start adding back in more carbs. Once tom is over I will re-consider if I want to eat the way I did before this little experiment.

I do hope that at least I got my metabolism used to eating a minimum of 1500 calories and it won't make a difference if I have fruit/veggies/protein.

We'll see but I don't want to shock my system so that's why the build up. But I would like to be at a higher carb level when the holidays come around so I can make some lc treats and veggie casseroles and not just eat protein.

Yesterday I started looking at my apples with a little longing

Good thing about hormonal gains... it will fall off suddenly in a big whoosh!

Enjoy your avocado! I actually ate a whole one 'all by myself' yesterday! DH was gone hunting for 2 days... it was yummy

And you are a hormonal gainer, so hang in there! It'll come back off! And it's so good to rev up your metabolism!!! I need to ramp up to more calories myself, but as usual, I'm working the scale tightrope . It's all part of the fun of maintenance . You got this!!
