Molly's Musings on Multi Menu-Type-Family and New Healthy Habits.
So now that DH has joined weight watchers through work, and my last fledgling is flying the coop next week, it is time to get serious myself.
My personal plan will be a GF SF JUDDD But I need to try to get my UD and DD calorie information back, they disappeared from my siggie.
Seems like they were around 460 on DD and 1824 on UP days? But maybe it was 1624 for up days. I just don't remember. Will have to look into that. Anyway, Today is my start. It has been a pretty UP day, and will be a upper day, though I haven't counted, or put it in my tracker.
I will start with my tracker and my Fit Bit tomorrow. I know, probably not great to do exercise on my first DD, but really I am not going to do anything special, just get my steps as close to 10000 as I can doing regular daily stuff and maybe a walk outside some.
Then on my UP days I will start the Jillian Michal 30 day thing I got. If I make 2 weeks of that want to order "10 minute trainer " by the P90X guy.
Just walking on DDs and heavier workouts on UDs.

The challenge will be to fix healthy meals for Hub on his WW plan that also work on MY lowish carb/GF/low sugar plan.
I will take start pics and measurements tomorrow.

So, Follow me if you want to, add your own experiences with LC JUDDD or GF recopies. Or just come in and chat with me!

up day cals-1793/down day cals-359

I weigh in at TOPS tomorrow. I don't want to, I am not digging this TOPS group but I will go a few more weeks at least.

For today though my activity plan is to get my closets and cabinets cleared out.

:welcome: back to JUDDD! I follow JUDDD GF as I have Celiac. I don't do sugar free, but I am right there with you on GF !!!

You can do this, WW's is a good plan, should make it easy for you to follow since he has to eat less too!

I don't follow weight watchers, and I really wish my hub would just go low carb, but he just doesn't 'get' that LC is LC and not a part of another system. So I just don't keep carbs here and he will have to weigh and count his points usuing what I cook for him. On DDs I will feed him leftovers because I wont eat solid foods. At last not the first few months, I like the shakes I get at Costco.
He is also looking into juicing. IMO Juicing is a very very bad idea for a type 2 diabetic but whatever.....

Jenny I was really iffy about it until I read The Alternate Day Diet, by Dr. James Johnson it has a lot of info about the science behind intermittent fasting and the health benefits.

The following content was provided by the publisher.

Diet only half the time with this revolutionary, easy-to-follow, safe, and science-based program.
"The Alternate-Day Diet" is based on scientific and clinical studies that show how restricting calories only every other day activates a gene called SIRT1 the 'skinny' gene which results in reduced inflammation, improved insulin resistance, better cellular energy production, and releasing fat cells from around the organs to promote weight loss.
This easy-to-follow two step plan will enable readers to enjoy these remarkable and measurable benefits:
Lose fat easily and quickly without deprivation, discomfort, or stress
Improve fat metabolism and avoid regaining lost fat
Slow the aging process
Find relief from symptoms of asthma, heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, and menopause-related hot flashes

It costs less that $10 new, and way less used!

Still musing rather than taking action. :o too much stress and emotional swings going on, but I know exercise will help that.
Hub is doing great with WW, has a WW meeting at work today, hoping he has had a good loss!
I am down, but it is more from stress loss of appetite than eating low carb healthy.
Skipped TOPS last night. Again.

I do have a yummy pork tenderloin in the crock with a NSA Cuban seasoning packet I got from the farmers market, so that is a step in the right direction!

The seasoning was really good! DH loved it with a side of red beans and rice! I hope the spice lady is back this week, I am going to buy several packets of it! He seems to be doing well with WW. I am trying to get him to do the lowest carb version since he is type 2 diabetic. Best I can do is keep sugar and wheat out of the house.

Hub has been out of town so not such a multi plan meal issue, but I have been lazy and just grabbing what is easy rather than worrying about the healthiest options. On the plus side I haven't had any kind of bread or wheat in days because I haven't gone to the store
That made Breakfast/brunch Costco chicken salad and some yummy lima beans. Using up leftovers. Not sure what is happening for supper tonight.
I am thinking a Gyro salad.
