godsbeloved79's Grand Finale 2013

I kept going back and forth about starting a new journal because I'm restarting Induction and finally decided to do so. I believe I could have kept on with my old journal and been successful, but I didn't want to be reminded of all the excuses I made back then. So here I go eager and focus to get the weight off and be that healthier and more confident woman that is screaming on the inside to come out.

Day 1 Induction

So here goes. I had my cup of green tea this morning and boiled eggs.

Packed a salad with steak for lunch. Off to a good start, and taking it one bite at a time.

Day 2 Induction: Withdrawals

I have such a bad headache and I know it's coming from me not having my morning Dunkin Donuts coffee and breakfast sandwich.

I'm fine with that though, cause after another day or so; this feeling will be history.

I just want Ketosis to kick in and experience the burst of energy, along with the appetite decrease.

Hi Deborah,

I truly appreciate your encouragement. Today is Day 3 of Induction and I feel so much better about myself; even though there is no physical change yet, but the mental feeling of being in control of what goes in my mouth and making the decision to eat healthier, lose the weight, and be the Woman God called me to be is an amazing feeling.

Day 3 Induction: No more headaches

So glad I passed that phase of withdrawals. I feel so much better now, and even though I have a long road ahead of me; I started the journey instead of continuing to put it off.

Now the weekend is going to be a challenge, but I'm going to prepare some lemon pepper wings to snack on.

Renewing the Mind

I have a total of 20 weeks (144 days) to get my butt in gear.

I refuse to enter 2014 the same way, so it's time to make some changes and stick with them.

Morning Motivation

To be successful you need to change your life. You need to take control of the bad habits you have turned into an unhealthy life.

You need to be excited about it too. And you have to believe that you can do it. Dreams turn into reality very quickly when you work hard.

Hi Deborah, we're in the same boat. We have to want it bad enough to make the change and stick with it.

A co-worker asked me "Do you want to lose weight and be healthy?" I said YES and she said well if you "truly" do; keyword "truly" do what it takes to make it happen.

That conversation stuck with me and I think I'm finally fed up and sick of the excuses and merry-go-round.

I know I want it bad... Honestly I ALWAYS feel like I want it bad.. I just have to stop letting life events make things change as far as my eating... It seems as if there is a birthday every week or an event or something... Its emotionally draining... I dont want to be a loner just to stay on track but sometimes I just have to, because im not stong enough to say NO... It has to be a learning process..

Good Morning, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

We're blessed to be amongst the living. I'm excited because I know what is ahead of me on this journey. I've come to realize that the next few days of Induction are critical, cause this is the breaking point. During these 14 days; I'm training my mind, along with ketosis curbing my appetite and getting me to the place where I need to be to succeed. I CAN do this one bite and step at a time.

Day 5 Induction

I'm experiencing tummy issues today, and I've been drinking lots of water to flush whatever it is out my system.

So I haven't had any breakfast, hoping the feeling goes away. I'll have a grilled chicken salad for lunch.

"Quote of the Day"

I wake up every day with the realization that this is it, that there's only one shot at this life and I can either enjoy the ride and live it to its fullest and to my highest potential or I can stay the way I am.

Stuffed Green Peppers

MAKE ME STUFFED PEPPERS

2 large green peppers, halved lengthwise
1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup onion, chopped, 1 1/4 ounces
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup tomato, chopped, about 2 ounces
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
2 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded, for topping

In a large pot, bring about half a potful of water to a boil. Add the peppers and boil for 3 minutes; drain. In the same pot, brown the hamburger, onion and garlic. Drain the fat and stir in the tomatoes and seasonings. Cook until the tomatoes are hot; remove from the heat and stir in the 4 ounces of cheese. Put the pepper halves in a greased 8x8" baking pan and fill with the meat mixture. Sprinkle the extra cheese on top, if using. Bake at 350º for 20-25 minutes.

Makes 4 servings
Can be frozen

Per Serving: 388 Calories; 27g Fat; 30g Protein; 6g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber; 4g Net Carbs

I had 4 ounces of pepper-jack cheese and a 2 ounce chunk of cheddar that needed to be used up so I put the jack in the the meat mixture and the cheddar on top. These were very good. Do not use pre-shredded cheese. The powdery coating doesn't allow it to melt properly.

UPDATE: I've changed the parboiling time from 5 minutes to 3 minutes. I found that the peppers get a little too soft after 5 minutes.

Dinner

Low carbing on a budget. I'm about to finish off the rest of this whole Mojo chicken with stemmed broccoli. I have ground beef to mix with my salad for lunch tomorrow and boiled eggs for breakfast. I want this bad, and I'm going to achieve it. I've prayed about it and I'm trusting God for the strength; every bite and step of the way. No more excuses or hindrances.

It's a beautiful morning in the neighborhood.

Felt great squatting last night and I can't wait to hit the pavement this evening for my 30 minute walk. I'm starting out slow; but steady.

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs with salt and pepper
Lunch: Cheeseburger salad
Dinner: Steak strips with broccoli and cheese
Snack: Sugar-free jello

Hey Meek, Oh no.

I decided to take a Facebook break and focus on "Me".

I'll be journaling here and I kept my IG for business purposes. I was going to send you and Dessa a message; but it was a spur of the moment decision. How are things going with u?

Extreme Weight Loss

My co-worker text me last night and told me to tune in. I'm still in awe and motivated from the episode last night. I understand that they workout harder and having the guidance being there; is a whole lot different from me and my plan of action. I don't expect the same results, but it proves that it is doable if one puts their mind to it. I did it before.

So I'm trying to get more creative with my meals, and decided to do a low carb "Tuna Melt" which consist of tuna warmed with a bit of mild cheddar cheese on top of lettuce. It's delicious and that's my lunch and snack.

Boiled eggs will be my safe haven. I'll also be making some pickled for snacking.

Ms Kristin is my Motivation and I'm following her on IG for support. Her and her sister lost a ton of weight, are keeping it off, and maintaining.
