Teeingoff17s Journal--In it for the long haul

Time to start a journal. I will post anything here, be it my daily menus, weight loss venting/celebrating, workouts, daily musings, or what kind of coffee I'm drinking. Ok, it will probably include coffee every day

Hopefully this will keep me on track and continue to get where I need to.

I started Atkins June 24th, 2013 at 230 pounds. As of today, July 15th, I am down to 216.4. 3 weeks, 13 pounds. Not bad. I'm sure it will start slowing down, and has, as from July 3 to July 15 I have dropped 5 pounds. But those 5 pounds are 5 great pounds. I am sticking with it. Haven't missed a day yet, have improved my restaurant eating, and have rediscovered my love for cooking.

Oh, and today's coffee was a Caribou Coffee Caribou Blend in the Keurig for breakfast and a cup of Peet's Major Dickason's Blend after dinner.

Feel free to post encouragement, suggestions, complaints, or if you want to vent, feel free to do so here. Oh, and any great coffee suggestions as well

Another day down. Over three weeks in and still feeling great.

I'm a daily weigher, don't know if that is good or bad, but I weighed in again at 216.4, no change. No frustration, I can't complain about maintain.

Food today:

B: 3 eggs and 2 pieces of bacon, baked. Had some Dunkin Donut's Dunkin Blend Coffee.

L: Beef Patty pan fried with a slice of New York Cheddar, topped with a pickle slice and Duke's Mayo. Eaten with a cup of broccoli, stir fried with a small amount of No-wheat, no-sugar soy sauce.

D: Seared pork chop with Kale 2 ways: Salad with Full Circle Organic Greek Feta Dressing and Sauteed in olive oil with salt and garlic powder

After dinner coffee: Market Pantry Fair Trade Organic Espresso Roast.

Workout: 30 min on eliptical, 10 minutes on treadmill

Post-WO: Cup of homemade chicken stock diluted with a small amount of water to taste.

Another great day, ready for the weeks coming up. Made Oopsies for the second time and baked some chicken for the upcoming days so I am ready!

Another day at 216.4. That's 4 days in a row now, I must be ready for a solid loss sometime soon.

Workout rest day today. Ready to hit the gym tomorrow again.

Food:

B- 3 strips of bacon, 2 eggs fried with cooking spray (didn't feel like butter today)

L- None

D- Ruby Tuesday Prime Cheddar Bacon Burger no bun with mayo. No veggies on burger. Double broccoli for side and small salad with cheese, egg, bacon and a small amount of ranch dressing.

Coffees Today:

Caribou Coffee Caribou Blend Keurig
Starbucks Americano and a solo espresso shot on the side

Third day of Journaling:

Down to 215.4 today! Glad to see the number go down again, it is really nice. Just .4 away from 15 pounds since the beginning of Atkins, .4 away from 20+ since I started this summer.

B: 2 eggs, 2 strips bacon fried together in butter

L: 2 small turkey burgers with a slice of swiss cheese on 2 oopsie rolls with a bit of mayonnaise and sugarless dijon

D: Homemade Buffalo wings with a bit of homemade Blue Cheese sauce on the side, pan seared brussels sprouts and celery.

S: 1 oz cheddar

Coffee today: My own blend of Dunkin, Peet's Major Dickason's, and Market Pantry Espresso Roast

Workout: 1.5 mile run with 10 minute cooldown walk and mile stationary bike for stretch.

How's everyone else doing?

Another day down! Keeping strong! Did not weigh today as I woke up at 4:30 AM to watch British Open golf and just wanted coffee at that time!

Food today:

B: 2 strips bacon, baked, and a plain 3 egg omelette eggs only in butter

L: 3.3 oz burger in Oopsie rolls topped with a small amount of Duke's mayo, a pickle slice, and a slice of swiss cheese. Had a couple pieces of celery dipped in my homemade bleu cheese dip.

D: Small amount of tuna salad and steamed broccoli

S: 3 oz of baked chicken and a string cheese spread throughout the day.

Coffees today:
2 of the Keurig Caribou Roast K Cups, one at 4:30 AM and one at 7 PM
A cup of Market Pantry Organic Fair Trade Espresso Roast

All in all another day on plan! That's almost 1 month in! 5 days to a month

Another day down, another day on plan. No weight today, forgot to weigh before breakfast this morning.

B: 2 eggs, 2 Bob Evans Sausage Patties (no sugars/carbs! Great patties)

L: Wasn't hungry, nibbled on a bit of leftover chicken, two small cheese cubes

D: 5 Naked Chicken Wings homemade

Coffee: Some Peet's Major Dickason's Blend for breakfast and a Starbucks Reserve Costa Rica La Candalia Estates brewed on the Clover Brewing System after hitting up Trader Joes and Whole Foods. You've got to try the Clover Brewing System Coffee at Starbucks if you have one near you! So good

Another day on plan!

Skipped breakfast, not hungry

L: 6 naked homemade wings

D: Outback Bunless Chicken Swiss Bacon sandwich with mayo, steamed broccoli, and two bites of the wings before I realized there might be flour in it, so I stopped eating them.

The best news of the day came with measurements!
In the past 2 weeks:
-1 inch waist
-1 inch chest
-1 inch hips
-.5 inch each thigh!

So it is working! Looking forward to another week on plan, workouts intensifying, and no weighing since I am on a work trip. Gonna see how the restaurants keep me on plan!

One week anniversary of my journal!!!

Today I am on the road for business for the week. So my food plan will include a lot of restaurant food. But that's OK as I am getting very good at eating LC at restaurants!

B: 2 cups of coffee with 1 tbsp HWC. And a bite of a leftover homemade naked wing

L: Moe's Southwest Grill Burrito Bowl: Beef/Chicken with shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, sour cream

D: Applebee's: Cheddar Bacon burger with no bun, with lettuce and tomato and mayo. Five Classic Buffalo wings, and a few bites of romaine lettuce w/ a small bit of caesar dressing.

S: HB Egg and 2 naked chicken wings

Workout today: I did 2 circuits of a Men's Health hotel room body weight workout, ten minutes on the elliptical for a warm up and then a mile run with a walk cooldown.

Coffee today: Dreamed of espresso shots and americanos, but settled for hotel coffee (ugh...)

I brought along as much LC stuff as I could get into my cooler and non-chilled items. So I have boiled eggs, celery, a bag of broccoli/cauliflower, pork rinds, HWC, pre-cooked homemade breakfast sausage patties, and leftovers from before. If I flew here, it would be much harder, but I am making it just fine with the restaurants around!

That's great. Do you travel often for work? I think if you can get in the rhythm of what you need to do for yourself, that's a big part of the battle. I'm usually flying and with no car, so it looks like a squirrel has packed for me, with all the almonds I bring with me.

Right now, I am just doing a summer internship where I do a decent amount of traveling. I am still in Veterinary school and have 2 years left. This is my last summer off school as we start our 4th year right after 3rd year ends. I have my car with me at all times, so it makes it much easier.

Good Afternoon All!

Today is my One Month Anniversary of starting Atkins and LC. I haven't weighed since Friday so I don't know my 1 month weight loss, but if I didn't go up, it is at least 15 pounds! And the inches too! I am so glad I finally decided to go all in with low carb and now after one month know I can do this for a long time!

Yesterday's foods:

B: Just a shot of espresso and a coffee

L: Bunless Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, mustard, pickles. Water

D: BWW 6 wings with medium sauce on the side, bunless burger with pepper jack and lettuce, pickle spear.

Jossy--A decent amount, I'd have to add up the values of what I lost. A lot of it is in the thighs vs. the waist, but they say what you put on first comes off last, so the "beer gut" will be last to go!

Today I had a great day of eating, a poor day of work: went to visit my two farms for the transportation trucks only to find out the truck drivers decided to show up early, leave early, and couldn't get my samples for my research. But hopefully tomorrow is more on schedule.

Food:

Breakfast: Starbucks americano

Lunch: Cracker Barrel Low Carb bacon cheeseburger with turnip greens side

Dinner: Outback bunless cheeseburger with grilled asparagus and four grilled shrimp

Snacks: Boiled egg, 2 leftover Applebee's wings, one left over homemade naked wing

Supps: 2 fish oil, 1 multi, 1 tbsp Trader Joe's Virgin Coconut Oil in coffee, another cup of coffee with 2 tbsp HWC (yes it is a supplement!)

Hope all is well with everyone! I can't believe I've made it one full month!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Had a decent day at work, had another missed scheduling, but found another farm to go to, which made it OK.

B: Coffee with 2 tbsp HWC

L: Late Lunch of leftover wings from the other days

D: Golden Corral: Horrible, probably won't frequent again. The pork steaks were OK, but the buffalo wings were not good at all, the steak they had was cooked with sugared steak sauce (didn't eat, luckily), and the rotisserie chicken was over peppered. But stayed on plan again!

Supps: 2 fish oil, multi, coffee with 1 tbsp CO and 1 tbsp HWC.

Finally back home and able to cook for myself tonight! So glad...you can only eat out so many days before you just want to warm up a pan, throw a slab of meat, and season it yourself.

I had to eat lunch on the road, but made it home in time for dinner!

B: Starbucks Americano (cannot get tired of Americanos) with 2 tbsp of HWC

L: Dickey's BBQ Pit 2 meat plate: Chopped Brisket and Pulled pork, no sauce, with 2 sides of green beans, both of which I brought home and haven't eaten yet.

D: Pan fried hamburger with swiss, Duke's mayo, and pickle spears. Not too hungry

Supps: 2 fish oil, multi, and coffee with 1 tbsp of HWC and CO

Might finally get to play golf tomorrow! Looking forward to it!

Happy Saturday y'all!

Weighed today for the first time in 10 days, and down to 214.2! Only 1.2 pounds in 10 days, but with being on the road and eating restaurant food for 5 straight days, that is definitely a plus!

Today, it's great to be home where I can control all my food and make it great.

B: 2 eggs in butter, 2 strips of bacon, coffee with 2 tbsp HWC

L: 5.7 oz pan fried chicken in EVOO, with leftover Dickey's beans from yesterday

D: Baked pork chop

Supps: 2 fish oil, multi, BPC with 2 tbsp HWC, 1 tbsp CO, 1 splenda (so good!)

Other coffee: Starbucks Tanzania Reserve Blend, now my favorite of the reserves.

Hope all is well and hope everyone is keeping on! Went to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods today, got some peanut butter and some almond milk, I think I am ready to add to my diet. I will also start adding in carrots slowly, even though they are not Atkins, but I am doing kind-of my own plan.

Doing great! All of that restaurant food is loaded with sodium, I'm sure. I always lose much faster when I am eating at home. Wouldn't it be lovely if we could some how travel with our kitchen in tow? Lol!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed some great LC food.

Today, I slept in a bit so I only had coffee for breakfast. And then the US won the Gold Cup which makes me extremely happy!

B: Coffee with 1 tbsp CO, 2 tbsp HWC

L: Turkey burger with 1 slice New York Cheddar cheese

D: Pork Chop baked with a side of Trader Joe's frozen green beans cooked with a slice of bacon and butter, and salt.

S: 1/2 oz. Mac's Pork Cracklins, 2 stalks celery with homemade dill dip (1/2 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup Duke's mayo, 1 tbsp dill weed, 1/8 tsp garlic powder, paprika, and salt and pepper to taste)

I am so glad to have found this WOL, and love experimenting and trying new things.

Since it has been 5 weeks, I have added peanut butter, almond milk, and protein powder into the diet. But it will remain in moderation, not every day, and will be more of a treat or a quick meal when necessary.

Today:

B: No time this morning (3:50 AM departure), so just coffee with 2 tbsp HWC

L: Baconator, only mayo, bacon, cheese

S: Protein shake: 1 cup organic almond milk, 1 tbsp Trader Joe's natural PB, 1 scoop Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Rocky Road blended. One piece of celery dipped in my homemade dill dip

D: 6 oz chicken breast, baked with butter, salt, pepper, and steamed broccoli and cauliflower with butter and salt.

Supps: 2 fish oil, one multi.

Not too big of an almond person, sometimes can do almond butter, but it really is just the almond milk that I can do.

Jossy, I love Optimum Nutrition, and it's the only powder I will buy. Still trying to find Guar or Xanthan Gum to thicken it, though. Might have to order it online if I can't find it in store.
