Congrats on your loss!

I know what you mean about paying for the gym and not using it...I have done that more times than I'd care to think about! I really need to make sure I do it now b/c my job will reimburse me for my monthly fee as long as I have proof I went twice a week.

Hey Blonde,
Good for you. I love a loss. Yes, I do weigh everyday. Today I definitely shouldn't have because I'm up almost 2 lbs. I was trying to up my fruit intake and it didn't work. Must back off.

Great job on the loss! I can relate to the not getting excited part...it's not "weirgin"..virgin...I'm not excited too much yet either, just relieved that the damn scale is moving in the DOWN direction and not the other way!!

Yes, TOM is kicking my a$$. and

I cannot wait to get my bike! I wish I could get a treadmill too but then, we'd have to just get rid of all the living room furniture to fit it all..Hmmmmm....... it could be a'la Chris Powell's show! In previous seasons he & his team would come in and completely redo the living rooms with all workout machines and no where to "just sit".. somehow I think hubby would have a huuuugge issue with this, no?

DH used to joke when the children were young, "We're putting the TV on a battery, if you want to watch, you'll have to peddle" So IDK, he might like it....

Sorry TOM is such a Bee.

I ate a little better today. Hoping for a loss tomorrow. I'm really liking my fermented veggies. I'd like to make kefir but totally intimidated. A new thing every day Great to see the losses.

Lindy- I can connect you with the lady that has the kefir grain starter, it looks like a little ball of brains, sit it in a jar of whole or better yet raw milk and in 24 hours you have kefir! then you strain it and keep it in milk until the next batch, nothing scary it tastes like ughghghg but I mixed it with my protein powder to cut the taste, if you want to know more let me know!

Hey Blonde- good job hun! A loss is a loss and we will take every pound!!!!

Thanks Lindy! I think 'eating a little better, hoping for a loss tomorrow' is a good thing. After all this is a day by day, one at a time deal. I wish i could get into fermented veg but sour has always been my least favorite flavor.

My goodness, I don't miss Aunt Flo one little bit! Hope you're better today.

Girls I had a weird day yesterday. Food wise it was so-so but my biggest thing was "My mood ring was black". I struggled with it all day. Around 4:00 my youngest DD showed up with her 4 dogs, starting a riot in the back yard, DH came home at 4:20, his usual grumpy self, DD the Elder showed up at 5:00 with the grand girls, plus dinner fixin's and proceeded to whip up fish tacos with rice and southwestern hominy. For Pete's Sake, how can I maintain a black mood with all of that going on???? Black mood and total chaos can not exist in the same time continuum. DH was thrilled to see all the dogs and got a big smile immediately. I told my brain to shut up and go with the flow. At around 9:00 I washed an unreasonable amount of dishes and went to bed tired and happy. Know what? I think I was just...lonely.

Hey Blonde and all, hope your day was excellent. Mine was good. Only trouble is I have my days and nights switched. Can't get to sleep at night so I do most of it in the early afternoon. Cuts down on the time I spend with the family. They are totally accepting of what I do with my life, but it gets hard sometimes. I can't do the IF when I do this.

But I'm eating so healthy. Livers and onions, spinach, tomato for dinner tonight. Acclimating to the lifestyle.

Blonde, how's your mood ring looking today. Better I hope. Hang in there.

Lindy-check this thread and send a PM to IAMFAITHFUL, I see she has not been on lately, but might get a notice if you PM. Lots of good info in this thread about Kefir, I used raw milk for mine, it is pricey but it was helping me!

Hello Hello my Friends! Sunday, Amber, Monica, Jayce, Lindy & Danielle

I'm doing fine, but I've had no internet connection since Saturday! Everything got unplugged and moved so we could finish the floors. I finally bullied DH into hooking it up late last night. I don't think I realized how dependent I am on wi-fi.

My mood ring is on the good side of better. We worked hard physically over the weekend laying down tile, moving furniture, delivering a piano and a full bedroom set to DD the younger. I went to work yesterday and the combination of the weekend work-out and a full day of serving food kicked my butt. By the time I got home yesterday afternoon I honestly could hardly walk. It felt like every joint in my body was freezing up on me. I'm much better after a good night's sleep. Work again today.

DH saw some PBS thing and has recommended a book to me. This is a first. Something about the female brain by some Doctor Amen. I told him I'd look it up on Amazon today. Apparently it hit a note with him regarding my bizarre female behavior that comes with menopause, etc. It was all I could do not to recommend he put something where the sun doesn't shine. Could that be the behavior he's thinking about?

Hope you are all well!

Blonde, seriously, if I worked that hard, I'd be in the hospital. Truly.
I do have to monitor my stamina. Don't have much. ha. But it's nice to really accomplish something worthwhile. Maybe you can relax shortly.

*SIGH*

Hello Ladies! Thank you for hanging around with me!

Went to a 'presentation' last, on the eve of DH's Neurologist appointment. Some out-fit claiming to have fantastic results with neuropathy. Non-invasive, no meds, some kind of light saber therapy. Okay no saber, but definitely new age and more than likely no real MD's involved. There were people there waaaay older than us. Desperate, anxious, extremely elderly people looking for a miracle. Of course the presentation played on our fears, 'neuropathy always gets worse, it never goes away, the RX's for neuropathy are horrendous, dangerous, drugs that usually don't work anyway. In conclusion, give us your hard earned money because your insurance won't pay for quacks, throw away your wheel chairs and walkers, and let us put strobe lights on your feet. Hey, it can't hurt.

Bitter much? Dh was deflated. We stopped at Sprouts on the way home and got a Homepathic treatment. Hepsicorum Perforatum ( for the nerves). He supplemented with it when he had shingles last year and it helped so maybe it can help his nerve pain in his feet. So, he's at the Neurologist's and probably getting the painful test that the nice quacks warned us about last night.

I am not doing well food wise. Food is my drug and I don't know how to de-stress without it. If I could accept that fact and stop fighting it and agonizing over it I would probably be happier (and fatter).

How are you all doing?

oh my, I am so sorry Blonde. Does he have shingles? My Dh had it and so did my son. So painful. Please don't worry about your diet or anything else, because you are in the same mode that I have been in. I just feel helpless when loved ones are not feeling well.

Thank you Sunday! He had shingles last year (it goes on for weeks), He now has neuropathy in his feet, Non-diabetic. He sleeps poorly and is in constant foot pain. He works on his feet all day. He thinks he wants to retire because his feet hurt so badly. I would do anything to help him, I'm powerless.

How close is he to retirement age? In other words, if he is 55 plus, he can seek early SS retirement. I actually have been helping lead someone who has just recently decided to do this. It is important to have all of his medical records, but it is an option. Much love and hugs to you!

Sunday, he'll be 62 in November. He won't get much from his current job, he's been there 9 years ( maybe 9K a year). I can go back to work full time to supplement, and I will if he retires soon. I feel so badly for him. He's so grumpy from lack of sleep and pain. Sometimes it get's to me, I only want to help and I'm not helping much.
