I don't necessarily mind gingerbread stuff...I'm sure if it was like cookies or muffins or something...at some point if I got desperate I'd contemplate it Then again, what sounds so good one day, by the next day, not-so-much.

Enjoy your shopping! I am going to the mall.... B&BW has 3-wick candles for $8 today.... yes-I-know-I-said-I-wasn't-gonna-buy-anymore......

Carol...old-town Scottsdale?

No, it's Historic Downtown Glendale. Have you seen it? They light the place up so pretty at night! Glendale Glitters, they call it.

Yep, we live in the same metro area, but are kind of on different sides of the world! It would be fun to meet up one day. Somewhere in the middle!

That would be cool if you two could meet up!!!

Yes I went to B&BW...My DD bought 4 candles at $8 each, I bought 'Buy three get three free" again, I did this the other day as well.....better hurry girls! The candles smell divine!

Also went to Charming Charlies (jewlery & accessories), Macy's, Ulta (makeup, etc), the Van Store, Hot Topic, LUNCH at On the Border and then on to ROSS. Eek. I didn't finish but I made another dent....boy I'm tired now.....

Every where I went I saw great gifts for the people I already bought for. DOH!

You had a successful shopping day! I didn't make it to B&BW... I should've gone....I have $10 coupons..you know what that means... #superdeals! Ah well, I've got plenty to keep me busy for awhile. I'm burning Christmas ones today!

I adore Charming Charlies! So much fun stuff in there. I'm not a big jewelry girl so I don't often buy much from there but I love to look at all of it!

I did some shopping today via online...thank goodness for express shipping

Our On The Border closed down here a few years ago...I used to love that place.

I love Charming Charlies too! I have to admit it's visual overload every time I go. It's almost like my brain can't handle all the eye-candy at once and I wander around and around looking at all the glitz and glitter and I end up buying one thing.

SO, had a major argument with DH last night over the 'cable' bill. I called yesterday and got it reduced $55 by removing some features. We have a phone, internet, cable 'bundle'. Well apparently that wasn't good enough. SO, today I'm cancelling everything BUT the internet. I've had a land line with the same phone number for 30 years...now it will be cell phones only. I also have Netflix. It's not that I'm in love with the TV programming, I only watch a few channels...but I use my DVR everyday, who has time to watch when the show is actually on? Who wants to sit through all the commercials? TV for me is background noise and I find it very soothing... AND it's not like we spend big bucks on entertainment. We don't go to movies, or bars or out to dinner. Our entertainment is going for rides in the Z car and having breakfast out twice a month. I'm almost over it....

DD today. That will be interesting at the pie supper tonight.

Aw I'm sorry you guys had an argument I hope things blow over quickly.
I would die without my dvr LOL And can we get an AMEN for the fact that it can record 4 shows at the same time during the same hours!
We haven't had a landline in years...saw no point...everyone that I want to talk to just called my cell anyways

Pie supper? Pizza pie?

I've still got my land line and I'm not sure why, but I don't seem to want to give it up. Silly, I know. And I love my DVR, but really, I'm not sure I get my money's worth out of my satellite/DVR payments.

Sounds like you'll have some great savings though!

Morning girls.....YAWN.

It blew over fairly quickly when I explained to DH, I'll do it but you can't make me like it. As soon as he realized that, he stopped trying to convince me it was a good thing and I stopped being (as) mad. of course it hasn;t been turned off yet...I don't know what they are waiting for....

Saturday was a great DD believe it or not. The 'pie supper' was just that...PIE. Not pizza, actual pie, fruit, cream, etc....I didn't have ANY. My down day was around 520 for the whole day and I could really feel a difference Sunday morning, though I did not weigh. I had a piece of pie yesterday and some crackers last night...this morning I have a rumbling stomach and if I don't eat the right kind of calories it'll be a tough DD.

Did you see the moon last night?? AMAZING!

OH man, that DD must've been an after-effect of being so mad about the cable We have satellite with all the movie channels and I swear we don't need all that... we OWN all those movies that come on there Me, I stick to Lifetime channels, HGTV, Food Network, Bravo & the regular channels.. that's it. I dunno that DH would let be shut off anything

I dunno how I'd have done in a sea of pies.. Great job, you!!!

My DH kept saying..."Do you realize that's 1500 a year? $1500 for TV?!!"

Finally I yelled "Your math SUCKS, James"! (James, yep see, I was mad!)

It's 2400 a year!! He was speechless (briefly).

That would be really funny if it wasn't so sickening what we spend on TV! I'm not adding mine up - don't want to know!

Blonde that is too funny about the TV, we always had cable, and I could have given up TV, well this DVR and direct TV, OMG how did I live without a DVR, no one is prying that out of my hands, it is ridiculous how much we spend on it and internet and cell phones, its the world we live in!

Hope you are getting ready for the holidays, my resolution is to get my butt back ehre and be accountable!

Jayce-how does a man make pie and not eat it? Probably why I am fat!!!! LOL

I agree with you -- the DVR is an amazing invention! LOL.

Amber, I don't know...he did eat a piece yesterday when he went home for lunch, but yea...he totally knocked out on the couch after cooking it. Funny!

Hey girlies!

Carol~ Don't add it up, it will make you crazy. You know what really sucks? They should be paying us to watch television. All the $$$$ they make in advertising, and then we have to pay to sit through a million commercials? Another fabulous reason to DVR. I'm going to miss the DVR, I'm kinda over the other stuff. Lucky for DH I don't hold a grudge. As for control, thank you, I'll take it while I can...some days not so much.

Good Morning to you Jayce...really? A freshly cooked pie (on an UD) could burn the hair off my tongue, how could sleep through it?

Amber~ agreed, the DVR is the best. Not getting ready fast enough for the holidays, I'm not finished shopping and I've run out of patience. Funny, right? Run out of patience (not money).....I don't want to go into one more store...and Amazon gives too many choices...

Another stellar down day yesterday. I'm finding it easier as time goes on. Can I confess something? When I see people riding in the stores on those little scooters...that's what keeps me on the program. NOT the pictures of skinny women in bikinis...the sight of shoppers overflowing their bucket seats inside battery operated scooter keeps me on the straight and narrow. Does that make me a bad person? It is my real life fear and I so do not want to go there.....

Christmas party at work today....well, after work. Starts at 3 pm. I will be working lunch so if I'm going I need to bring a change of clothing. Our holiday party is usually lame and centered around food. It's an up day so no worries there....it's not like I have anything else going on...

I totally understand about the motorized scooter thing...I see that often in WalMart & sometimes it is just their weight that keeps them from being able to walk around the store. That's very sad to me.

Jayce it IS sad, and being in my late 50's this is a very real thing to me. I don't want that to happen to me. My knees and hips are already groaning and I'm only going to get worse if I don't continue to work on my weight.

I have the same thoughts when I see the people in their scooters. It is very rare that they are skinny Minnie's! It definitely helps to keep good health in mind.

Hoping the lunch shift was good to you and you enjoyed the party after.
I hear ya about the scooters, it is a scary reality in the not so distant future if I don't keep going... I've already got issues with my knees and joints Ugh.

Ladies...that scooter image is way too close for comfort for me! My right knee has been bone on bone for several years and I need a knee replacement badly...doctor wants me to lose weight first! I could really use a walker at this point, but too vain to do so. It hasn't been fun hobbling around in the stores this season in pain. My morbid obesity and age finally caught up with me. All those years when I could walk for exercise and didn't....what I would give to be able to walk around the block now.

Sherrie, I'm so sorry. I know how painful it must be. All we can do is keep making the right choices and work at getting stronger.

I wrecked myself at work yesterday. Another LONG lunch rush and by the time I was phased out my foot was killing me. I was mentally unhinged by the end of lunch. Kinda reminded me of my PMS days....you know when you have PMS because you HATE everyone? I was so angry that I left work and did not go back for the party. The way I feel this morning, I wouldn't care if I never go back...and I don't have to, until next Monday. It's a good thing, I am limping badly on my left foot, and my right hip is killing me. I could not get comfortable last night and slept poorly. One may have a lot to do with the other. If I knew then what I know now. My Mom used to say that...now I understand.

I have the grand girls at noon today, maybe we'll make some cookies or something.....

Please ignore my Grinchiness...I'll get in a better frame of mind soon.
