OK--back from school and kiddo got her award. Last day of school so I signed her out and her friend Alexis. She got an award also.

got them both. I say---I will take you out to lunch, where to?
McDonalds. UGH, bleck So I am going to hit McDs website in a minute and find something to eat that stays in my limits.

We shall see how this day goes. I would love to see 198 on the scale tomorrow but I think that is wishful thinking. 3 lbs in 3 days, I know it has to slow down. so I will keep up the experiment and just roll with it and stay within my numbers allowed.

off to have fun today with the kids. pool ready, they can't wait to come back and dive in

+++++++OK--hit the website.

best bang for my cals. and carbs is a bacon ranch salad with grilled chicken 230/10NC
and then get a 6 piece nugget as a side. 280 and 18NC

the sandwiches were all high in carbs cause of the bread. I can get 2 items for 28NC and the sandwiches were at like 40nc and higher so this way I do best I think for what I like to eat.

Yuck
the premium bacon ranch salad with grilled chicken at McDonalds HAD FAKE IMITATION BACON. I despise that taste. so chemically fake. If it wasn't fake, which I swear it is , then it has to be the worse bacon on earth LOL
made the salad yucky so honestly by the time I decided to stop eating, I only ate 2/3. pushing some nasty aside.

So I saved a few cals. on that. One thing, never ordering that again. bleck

Thank you for the heads up! I do like their $1 side salad. My daughter loves a certain salad from one of the fast food places, she loves it, but she doesn't get the chicken that is usually has...I'll have to ask her. It might not be LC though, it might have dried fruit in it....

I absolutely love Arbys fast food farmhouse salad. just is so fresh every time I do get it.

but McDs. bacon was way to funky tastin' for this gal lol

day 4 food eaten: 1700 cals and UP to 75 NC range for the next 4 days

McDonalds salad. 230 and 10 NC
6 piece nugget 280 and 18 NC
(didn't finish salad)

1 small piece of cheese pizza 273 and 26 nc (oh but the crust was delish )

TOTAL: 783 CALS AND 54 NC

I can easily keep this day in line. I am carbbed out actually. the nuggets and that small pizza were enough for me. sick of them already, so dinner will be light and easy.

kids swimming and begged for pizza. it looked good, had to have a piece. but it is all on plan so I should be ok

hope everyone is doing ok out there!! dieting can be rough, but I do feel like I found a way for myself that is easier. we all gotta find our own way.

dinner was small smoked chicken breast. nothing else. not that hungry

200 cals give or take a tad.

1033 cals and 64 NC so far. I gotta eat like 670 cals to hit my target. geesh, but like I said before I won't eat just cause the number is there. I eat when hungry and I am just not hungry at all.

off to relax. darn tiring day

Go Trigger! Congrats on the drop and for hitting onederland! I know you're going to make it stick.

I am admitting to eating at McDonald's three times in the past week. Last Friday for supper, I had a double quarter pounder with cheese, didn't eat the bun. Tuesday morning and this morning I stopped after my son and my doctor appointments and got a Sausage McMuffin with Cheese. Didn't eat the English muffin except for the parts that clung to the cheese that melted to it that I did eat

LOL Misti. McDs 3 times? yikes. the sodium is a killer on any fast food anyway right? but if you eat correctly ya can still lose and that is a good thing to know when you are forced out to eat at least!!!

One thing we dieters can do is find ways to make fast food work for us

Day 5 weight up 1/2 lb. OH POO! 200.2 this morning. but no big deal. not worried about it one bit at all!!! and I mean that

cause last night I jumped on chocolate. oh yea. I had a blast with it, and then had a few handfuls of kiddos popcorn. and hubby was eating a brownie so I jumped on one of those. Honestly I did not add any of it up BUT I know from a quick calculation in my head it put me WAY OVER IN CALORIES AND CARBS.

So one thing I know---eat too much gain a bit HAHA well duh.

today is stick to my numbers. 1700 and UP to 75 NC

BUT that 75 NC. I am going to lower that a bit. My new revision is 60 NC. 75 NC is carb heavy to me. I feel if I use 60 NC in my mind it will mentally limit me thinking I can have alot of heavier carbby foods. eh, worth a try right?

Day 5 will be 1700 cals. and UP to 60 NC.

I have to be on the road most of the morning. So no eating til late lunch.

I have every intention of getting back to ONEderland tomorrow morning and that is a given. I am right there, right on it, no way I am going to back track right now. I want into the 100s and get it set nice and tight and NEVER see that darn 200s again

Thoughts on my homemade plan are:

Very comfortable
Easy to work
learning about cals. and carbs in foods and can mentally guess my usual foods now without having to hit the calculator tool to figure it out
Can eat anywhere normally
Eating my old foods within reason and not having to make LC recipes etc.
Not obsessing about a complicated plan
Not obsessing about what I can not eat

a few things changed on my plan. just the comfort level is very assuring to me. I am calm on this plan so that makes it all worth experimenting with for a while to see how it goes longer term.

well, off for work. EVERYONE have a great day!

Hi Trigger. It finally dawned on me that I could come over and read your journal after Stynger mentioned keeping up w/you on LCOW. Miss you there, but so happy to catch up w/you here.

Sounds like you're doing great! LOVE your pluck, girl. And big congrats on the weight loss. As for the scale thing, meh, like you said, you can tackle that w/time. I started my woe determine to stay off the scale but for once a week. Now I hop on it like an eager bunny every am. But I do only weigh first thing in the morning. Any more than that is really useless and counter productive. Why weigh the food in your stomach that isn't digested yet? That's what we do when we jump on and off the scale all day.

There's lots of ways to lose weight, including Trigger's Way. You go girl!

I hit my walmart. darn it they did not have the buns. they had the 45 cal. delight regular bread but not one stinking bun. I live in the boonie sticks HAHA

yea morning weigh in is important to me also. I wish I didn't love and hate the scale so much lol

I am still chatting in our thread, but in the journal I am trying my diet experiment.

so far so good
tracking everything just so I know how/what/why etc. about my new way of eating. In case I gotta look back or something. just helps me writing it down tho.

Official 5 days on my moderate carb, limited calorie plan eating whatever I want.

Lost 3 lbs. in 5 days. Start weight 203 and this morning was 200.

I am very happy with the results.

It would have been more but I snacked out at night on the last 2 days. I think mentally I was pushing to see 'what I could get away with' in snacking. Well, darn it, those bad snacks just are NOT a good thing obviously LOL I know in my heart many of the junky snack foods have got to go, which is a good thing. So I am accepting that certain junk foods will be eliminated for good in my life. It is cool, I need to eat healthier.

Losing 3 lbs. this week was effortless. Easy. Ate what I wanted, how I wanted, when I wanted and didn't have plan craziness at all.

But this weekend like for many people is a challenge. I have a party today at my parents lakehouse. brother and family came down from NJ. Beer and snacks, BBQ and all that. swimming, boating and fun, but along with that is drinks and food I will party and have fun, but self limit myself best I can. But I am having a good time and not going diet insane about today's party. it is what it is.

So off to party and have fun. Will weigh in tomorrow morning and see how I did.

everyone have a great Memorial Day weekend!! At this point I am becoming one HAPPY dieter

I am UP a bit after my party yesterday.

should drop the weight fast. usual gain after having fun

today back on plan, having no problems and doing well

leaving for 10 day Florida beach trip on tuesday. So I will be off for a bit but I have every intention of eating lighter and clean and enjoying myself --while keeping the food in check.

When I come back I will report the results of the experiment. I am bringing my food scale with me. I have a 5th wheel camper and can handle my food. I won't be eating out a ton so I can control my food very well.

will update when I get back. should be interesting

Trigger, I just got off the phone after calling every store in a 25 miles radius to find the Sara Lee Delightful HB buns. No luck at all. Some do carry the bread though, so I'm gonna try it this week.
No worries on your after-party status There's a whoosh waiting for you
Enjoy your beach trip!

I am back from a long vacation.

I wanted to lose 1/2 lb. I gained 6.2

pure bloat. and all gained at the end of the trip UGH

I did well, eating lighter, moving alot with tons of fun things to do at the beach, and then I was drinking tons of beer and having a blast. All the time keeping things in check.

last 2 days nailed me. I should be up at least 10 lbs., so the 6.2 lbs is ok by me. I know it will take 2-3 days to drop then I can continue on with my good experiment and get under the 199 mark.

we hit an all you can eat crab legs, and we ordered other foods so we all pigged out on a wild eating frenzy. then yesterday traveling it was McDonalds, bleck and then hubby got KFC cause after a 9 hr drive I had no food in the house so I ate that also.
so the last days got me but like I said, it is fine. I know it will come off fast and I can get lower on the scale.

So---back on my experiment plan---and tracking each day as I was and my official start back on my journal.

target is 1500 calories, carbs in the 30-40 range.

breakfast:

1 egg 70 cals 1 nc
1 egg white 16 cals. 0 nc
3 bacon 105 cals 0 nc
1/4 cup raspberries 20 cals 3 nc
1/4 cup blackberries 30 cals 4 nc

totals: 241 cals and 8 net carbs (target 1500/30-40 nc)

So starting off today very well. It is a struggle to eat this breakfast but I will do it. my guts are icky right now as expected after vacation

I have to track it for real so here is breakfast numbers changed:
I waited too long to eat breakfast. I just ate it at 12:30. gee it is lunch now LOL

1 egg 70 cals 1 nc------------2 eggs, 1 white, 140, 16 cals 2 nc
1 egg white 16 cals. 0 nc
3 bacon 105 cals 0 nc--------differernt bacon so looked at values 80 cals for 2 slice
so total is now 120 cals on bacon

---added 2 slices cheese to eggs 140 cals will do 1 nc for it
1/4 cup raspberries 20 cals 3 nc
1/4 cup blackberries 30 cals 4 nc

totals: 241 cals and 8 net carbs (target 1500/30-40 nc)

new totals: 466 cals and 10 net carbs

wow, those cals. sure changed me upping the food.

just wasn't hungry this morning, couldn't eat. now at 12:30 I was STARVING of course coming off eating 2 days of big junky yummy foods. AND GET THIS---kiddo wanted chinese for lunch since today was 'supposed to still be vacation day'. I told her and hubby to go out to lunch without me. they left a bit ago and I started starving

stuffed now.

have idea of some strawberries for a snack later and then for dinner chicken, broccoli with bit of alfredo sauce.

I should easily come into my target range for today and this keeps me on track.

writing in this journal keeps me on track LOL

(target 1500/30-40 nc)

7 oz sautee chicken 210 cals 0 nc
2 tbls olive oil 100 cals 0 nc
1/2 cup alfredo sauce 180 cals 4 nc

Friday
target 1500 calories and 30-40 net carbs

I dropped 2.5 lbs. of bloat. WEE. from 206.2 to 203.6 this morning! I will take that.
2 more days tops to lose the rest of this and continue down out of the 2s into ONEderland. I like ONEderland.

I leave for a 8 day beach trip to Virginia on July 16. I must be solid into the 190s (more toward low 190s) so I can avoid the vacation bloats that might keep me in the 200s.

So til then I am tracking, eating clean and moving this old butt around to get some lbs off me and fast

Will post later food etc. on how this day proceeds but I know my target. 1500 cals and 30-40 nc. that makes it easy. good thing is not hungry at all this morning and getting back on my normal plan has been very easy so far

well that 203.6 this morning dropped down to 202.8 after I had my shower

I will take ANY and all LOWS on the scale HAHA

So I dropped that bloat very very well. Ah, eating on plan sure has its benefits

Stopped at Showmars restaurant while shopping with hubby and kiddo.

grilled chicken chef salad/ranch 529 calories and 10 NC
(I looked it up on their website when I got home)

it was funny when ordering. The salad comes in a hard taco shell, or you can get it in a bowl with pita bread on the side. I said no shell, no pita. Blank look. Oh, you want the shell on the side?? No. No shell. OH, then you want the pita on the side, right? AH, NO. HAHA still the confused look from the cashier. She is thinking 'what bread does this fool want?' finally I said I am low carb and another blank stare. I said, just no bread of any kind, just the salad. OH OK....hahaha I got it my way then.

doing well today. I feel in the zone. My calorie counting and carb counting is somehow very comfortable. I know I can eat alot of things, I must have to plan them into my counts. I find this little plan very easy. Easy to start back on again also.

so far so good
