The rest of the weekend was OK. Pork butt came out great except it was like 8pm when we ate it. I hate eating so late, it never works out for me and brings high numbers to the scale the next morning. SO I didn't weigh yesterday and am going to wait until Wednesday.

Check out my dinner from Friday night though - I had muscles and a garden salad, and then for the main course LOB-STAH Mmmmmm with some of DH's green beans and some cole slaw. Super yummy:

Workout plan this week:
Monday- Cardio
Tuesday - Lower Body Focus
Wednesday - Ab Intervals
Thursday - Speed 1.0
Friday - Total Body Circuit

todays menu:
BRK - leftover cauliflower casserole
LCH - bacon, boiled egg, tomato, avocado salad with lime juice
SNK - probably the rest of the above salad if I don't finish it. OR some ham and spicy mustard
DNR - baked flounder with a side of brussel sprouts
DRK - coff x2, water, no alcohol tonight
DST - 3 cream cheese clouds if needed

Jessica- I agree that scale can be devil. With exercise it is even more devilistic. I use scale that also measure body fat and find is useful.

Ditch the scale till you are done w/your routine, if it bothers you too much.

I think I have a scale addiction. I have to step on it everyday

How much longer you have left in T25 rotation?

BTW, I had to stop Beast Body. It was too much for me with amount food I eat plus there is no fun factor with these workouts. I don't know how I did 2 months of it last summer.
I will just be using various DVDs that I have. I have a big selection so it will keep me busy. I have some many DVDs that I have not even tried yet

Have a fantastic day ahead!

Thanks Marika, I'm taking your advice and not stepping on the scale on August 31. WOW I hope I can do this. That is when I am done with 5 weeks of Focus T25. After that school starts for my son and my schedule will not allow me to get in 5 days a week anyway so I will probably drop to 3 days at that time. What a bummer you had to stop body beast. But first things first, get the eating figured out and drop those extra pounds from the past month. THEN focus on the exercise.

Ok I need to hide the scale now. LOL

Not feeling so hot today, I think I'm going to leave work early and go home and rest. I have the Ab Intervals workout today, I might be able to get through it since it's just my throat that is sore at the moment. We'll see.....

Hey ladies - I use a julienne peeler, it's just like a potato peeler but has ridges on it. I LOVE IT!!! Works great with a lot of food, I use it to make carrot strands all the time (the likds love it) and its great to make cucumber noodles too (to toss with pepperoni, cheese, onion, pepper, and italian dressing-- pasta salad but NO pasta!!!).

Here's what mine looks like, I think I got it for like 6 bucks maybe? It might have been at Kohl's but you can probably get them at walmart or bed, bath & beyond.....any houseware store that sells kitchen stuff. Maybe even the dollar store?

I'm feeling really good today. I noticed my hip bones are sticking out a bit this morning, what a nice thing to notice! Today my workout is speed 1.0 and it's a good one, lots of short bursts of sprinting and jumping mixed with yoga moves and stretching.....it's probably my favorite workout on Focus T25 so far.

todays menu:
BRK - leftover ham salad with Cherry tomatoes from my garden
LCH - leftover chicken and zucchini
SNK - turkey (cracked pepper) and spicy mustard (grey poupon)
DNR - Ham steak and asparagus with hollandaise
DRK - coff, water, probably some wine later

Food tastes so much better when you get it from your backyard!

Next we'll be picking all our jalapeno's, probably this weekend! We have almost a dozen ready....can you say POPPERS!!!!! WOoo-hooo!! gotta get me some cream cheese and bacon!

Jessica- glad to hear you are feeling better! Great on visible hip bones

I was expecting to see some complicated gadget. Amazing that this simple looking thing makes perfect noodles. I am definitely going to get this one.

Love the tomatoes from your garden. They look adorable. I just picked up some nice tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, onions and lettuce from the farmer's market. They are organic and locally grown I wish I had a better sun exposure in the my house. I think next year I will do basket garden on my deck where I have great sun exposure.
I love this season, but it is way too short!

Have a fantastic workout today!

I am think I am going to do one of Jari's Love workouts today.

Jessica - thanks for the info! I am shopping tonight I will have to look for that peeler. I use a standard one, which is fine, but I think I would like this one better.

My coworker brought us in a huge bag of cherry tomatos from her garden. I plan to make a big tom/cauliflower/snap pea/mozz salad with them! YUM! We have a jalapena plant too. I bet we have 20 of them ready, if not more. I was thinking of making SF Jalapeno Jam, you know anything about that? have a recipe? Since we count calories, poppers are only an option on Up days!

Our tomato plant has about 10 tomatoes just about ready to pick too!

Hey ladies, yes I totally recommend the julienne peeler. I'm sure you both will find great uses for it aside from zucchini, carrot and cukes (I heard beats can be peeled into noodles too,m never tried it, and I wonder about jicama or turnip).

No recipe for a jalapeno jelly, maybe try googling it? I bet someone has posted something somewhere online.

Well today's workout is "Total Body Circuit" which is the hardest of the alpha series. Why did I save that for Friday? I'll have to plan better next week. It's OK, probably best I go into the weekend with a good workout fresh under my belt. GOing to try like hellll to have a clean weekend, I think by not weighing I am more motivated to TRY harder not to cheat. That's my focus this weekend (I should just repaste every friday post! LOL!) Eat clean AND No cheats!

Had a great time doing a whole lot of nothing this weekend with the kids. Well actually we were quite productive. We took down the pool (it got a bit too neglected and needed to go, it hasn't been hot enough to need it anyway). Did some weeding in the gardens, cooked a bunch of food. YES I ate pretty poorly on a few occasions (AHHH!!!!). Marshmallows on Friday night, GRRRR....Saturday I was a good girl, minus a few cream puffs that DH bought.....Yesterday I had a few minor slip ups (polished off my kids broc & cheese curly noodles). BUT I got all my leg workouts in and am caught up on that! AND I made some good LC dishes to have this week.

Quiche (cheese, onion, basil & oregano)

Cream cheese & peanut butter clouds:

OH and check out what HUBBY bought and made for us! Muscles with a tomato, garlic, white wine sauce (provencal) he is the best. We indulged on 2 pounds of these Saturday afternoon then again Sunday afternoon:

I also have some leftover ham from a big ham steak we cooked last night. Gonna whip up some ham salad tonight to have for a couple lunches this week.

Todays menu:
BRK - quiche
LCH - leftover chef salad with almond slivers and ranch dressing
SNK - turkey slices with mustard
DNR - steak with a parm sauce and side of broccoli
DRK - coff, water, maybe a vodka seltzer later
DST - cream cheese clouds x 4

Here's the workout schedule THIS week:
Monday - Total Body Circuit (didn't I just do this one?)
Tuesday - Low Body Focus
Wednesday - Speed 1.0
Thursday - Cardio
Friday - Ab Intervals

The ones above are all "alpha" and for the first 5 weeks, there is another set of workouts called the "beta" phase that I will do for 5 weeks after finishing 5 weeks of these alpha workouts. So early October I'll be done with the whole 10 week program and then will probably just take a break and do 2 - 3 workouts a week instead of 5.

AND here is the best picture I took all weekend (took the kids down to the school playground for a bit yesterday):

Oh Monica bummer that school is starting already, seems way too soon! Aiden starts his 2nd year of Pre-K on August 28th (I think, it might be the 29th, LOL).

Thanks Marika, yeah these little ones are cute but they also keep me VERY busy...

SO it's Lower Body focus today, I'm not that worried because last week went just fine. I didn't have the soreness for days on end like I did the first time. I was surprised as I really thought I would have SOME soreness - it was only the 2nd time I had done the workout last week...but knowing that means the 3rd time (today) will definitely be manageable. I'm excited to get over that hump and just be working those muscles, not killing them!!!!

Change of plans in dinner last night, I had some salmon with leftover hollandaise. It was awesome. I didn't get any veggies in, but that's OK the fish was healthy and satisfying enough for me.

We're making a trip to Connecticut this weekend to visit DH's dad. He lives in East Haven on the beach so I'm hoping for good weather. The kids will LOVE It. Should be fun. Eating will be a struggle, but it is EVERY weekend so whatever. LOL.....

todays menu:
BRK - quiche
LCH - ham salad with cherry tomatoes
SNK - a little garden salad maybe with some o+v dressing
DNR - cheddar wurst and broccoli slaw, YUM!
DRK - coff, water, no alcohol tonight
DST - a couple cream cheese clouds

You are doing great Jessica. I am sure your legs will not be as sore this week and you will be happy about it, as walking down the stairs will be no biggie

I hope the weather will be nice this weekend and you have a blast on the beach.

Ugh, I did it. I got on the scale.....It's been almost 2 weeks and I just really wanted to know where I was at going into the weekend. We're going to DH's Dad's to see him, his wife, and we'll also visit DH's gram. They all live on the coast in East Haven, Conn. So we will get some BEACH TIME in for sure!! But DH's Dad always makes a big paella. Yeah, super yummy, and yeah full of rice. I never eat much of the rice, I mostly indulge in the clams, shrimp, chicken and meatballs that he loads onto it. Here's a pic of a past paella that DH's Daddy made, he considers it like a work of art, I agree:

Sooooooo I'm at 139.4, UGH!! Working my butt off on Focus T25 EVERY DAY and eating super clean....not that low carb, I've been hanging around pre-maintance levels and I've also drank alcohol like every other night the past 2 weeks! I've decided to ignore that I'm up on the scale, because my body is feeling really good, clothes are fitting, and I SEE toning in areas that have not been toned for a LOOOOOOONG time. I'm going to enjoy the weekend with DH's family and have a good time at the beach. I'm not going to limit my food intake too much although I will likely avoid the sweets (one of DH's aunts always brings a spanish flan...it's like a custard....I MIGHT have to a little of that, it would be way better than pie or cake that's for sure!).

Next week is clean up time. I will drop to VLC levels for the week and I will NOT drink alcohol all week.

Girl, the workouts could be causing you to gain muscle. Remember, if your BODY is actually smaller and more toned, does it matter if the number on the scale is up a couple??? Enjoy your weekend! I wish we lived anywhere CLOSE to a beach!

SO I did, I had a great time this weekend!!! The beach was beautiful. The kids loved it:

Scale is up a couple more pounds today but that's OK. 141.3 could be MUCH worse. I'm going to eat really well the next couple of days and today starts another 5 days straight of Focus T25, Woo-hoo!!! That should help whip my body back into shape. I'm on week 4, can you believe it? After week 5 I will start another 5 weeks of the BETA phase. Then it's break time for a bit :-)

I had BREAD this weekend for like the first time in forever. Fresh, warm italian bread. Wow. I didn't have much rice from the paella, and I had very little sweets. Mostly just took small bites of the stuff my kids couldn't finish. I did OK. My big problem was the wine. I drank WAY too much.

Goal this week- no alcohol what so ever until Friday.

I totally failed last night. I had 2 1/2 glasses of wine!!! My problem--- there was a bottle in the fridge with exactly that much left in it, too tempting. It was a rough Monday at the office! So now there is no more vino handy to pour at home I should be all set tonight and won't have the temptation since nothing is there to drink, hee hee....

On a brighter note, I chopped all my hair off:

Todays Workout- Total Body Circuit. For some reason this week's schedule has me doing this workout twice. It is the HARDEST one in the alpha series!

Todays Menu:
BRK - ham slices stuffed with cream cheese and blueberries
LCH - ham salad with lettuce and cherry tomatos
SNK - walnuts and laughing cow cheese wedges
DNR - Cheeseburger salad
DRK - coff and a pepsi max
No dessert and No alcohol!!!!!!

Aww thanks! I'm still getting used to the hair. Working out is a bit of a hassle, I can't just pull it all back into a ponytail anymore. BOOHOO but I do little pigtails on the top of my head, looks like a FRAGGLE from fraggle rock! LOL

So today I will do the last workout in week 4 of Focus T25, Can't believe i only have one week left of the alpha cycle. went by fast! Hope the Beta cycle goes fast too!!! I DID check the scale today. I hadn't all week....was curious. Of course NO CHANGE. I'm sitting at 140. I HATE SEEING THAT NUMBER!!! I have been eating normal LC numbers, I was so pissed off this morning I went and got a fresh bagel with cream cheese. Yup. I just ate it. It's been almost a year since I've had one. OH WELL. I'm working out at lunch and have healthy meals planned the rest of the day. I guess this workout is just packing on new muscle - clothes fit fine, I can visibly see a difference, so I'm trying not to care about the scale as usual. I just googled all the pictures of people who look smaller but weigh more than a previous pic, kinda helps me feel better.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!!!
