Hi there I have read a lot of your posts and I am glad u r maintaining awesome. I just had a thought that what if u made your goal 130 then if u go up and down you will be ok. It may just help the mind games it plays. We beat our self up and let than darn scale control too much of our emotions. Then u will have that 5 lbs play. What do u think?

Yeah I've had this thought before...maybe like a year ago or more I wanted to change my goal to 130, but I found it was SO hard to get to. Then I went through a spell of barely being able to stay in the 130's and thought maybe my goal should be 140. that way when I"m at 135 it feels GOOD. and when I hit 142 or so it's not that bad....LOL... Instead I have changed nothing, I continue to use 135 as my goal weight and have hung around it pretty good lately. Actually below it today. If things keep going THIS good I just might drop it to 130 and work on maintaining there. But I like this weight on me right now, I just need to keep up with the exercise to tone it all up!!!

Amen.....Thanks for the visit!!

Today I'm going to lunch with DH at a local cafe, he's going to bring my son to school for me and then pick me up. It's his last real day of no work before the painting season kicks in. Well, not technically, I guess....he's going for a tattoo tomorrow, THEN May 1st it's back to work! LOL!!! Thank GOD, we need the money big time. There really isn't much on the menu that's LC friendly, mostly burgers, sandwiches and wraps. However they have a kick-a$$ chef salad that includes boiled egg and local meats (turkey and bacon) I think I'll get that with a cup of soup depending on what they have today. If no soup, I might go for a side of sweet potato fries.

My 2 week CHEAT free/exercise daily challenge is almost over. I wish I had been in better health to do this for ALL of April! Oh well I did pretty good from April 15th on so I should be proud of that. May is very busy for me, with Mothers Day, DH's Mom's birthday, My son's turning FIVE on May 24....and we have a couple fundraising events planned to raise money for a Pre-K new p[playground. I also have a baby shower and a funeral to attend in May. Strange....

Todays weight- 133.8 (yeah what is it with being so low on Tuesdays? Is it like a JUDDD thing going on now with my high weekends and low mondays?)

Todays Exercise-
kneeling reverse fly, pulse ups, curl & press

Todays Menu-
BRK: 1 egg, 1/2 avocado, some ham & cheese
LCH: Chef Salad (maybe some soup)
SNK: Celery and cream cheese
DNR: Taco salad w/LC wrap
DRK: Coffee with Sf vanilla cream, probably a diet pepsi with lunch (it's been a while since I've had one! I'm going OUT for lunch, consider it a treat), ,maybe some wine later

I had egg cheese and avocado for BkF just nowadays no coffee w sf vanilla cream too. Had a weigh of up 2.5 I'm not gonna worry. I'm doing this for life not a diet. My goal is to lose to 165. I was 174.5 this am.
I like someone's post once they said up is always water and loss is always fat. So I will consider this water. I have lost inches. NSV. My clothes are looser. Yay. I'm not craving. That's good. Whenever I eat this way my bloodwork is always awesome.
I'm scared of maintenance too. I'm scared to add any carbs.
I'm supposed to workout today. Not feelin it my DH just left for a bike ride. He just back in the saddle. He was hit by a car 5+ yrs ago. So 5 surgeries and a lawsuit later he is doing well.

My housekeepers r here. I'm still in my Jammie's. I got my order from Netrition and made Carbquick waffles last night with sf syrup. Very good it made 2 I ate them both with no tummy upset so all is good there. Yay. My son liked them too. He said he's losing BC I'm not making all the carbo stuff anymore. Last yr I was grinding my own wheat and baking my own read every other day. We all loved it but over ate it and I put on a quick 5 I'm still trying to get off.
I'm going to have to really limit the sf stuff. I wonder if that is jacking me up. I bought these different sweetners and baking flours. I'm trying to make a cookie that will get crispy for my sister. Any recipes come to mind? I'm going to try Kevinpa's recipes.
Have a good day all.

Hey there Stephie, thanks for stopping by. Yes slow and steady.....your body will handle it better that way. Maintenance is interesting. Nothing to be scared about, but definitely something to pay attention to. I'm still not 100% on how much I can eat on a regular basis and maintain. I basically have high days and low days and they even out. If I could just stay in the middle somewhere and on track for more than one week I might be able to figure it out!! LOL!!!

Yeah I know, sigh....with a 3 and 4 year old in the house mommy and daddy are hardly ever alone. and when we are, it's time for bed! We're always so tired....hoping to make some more alone time plans this summer. like camping!!!

--------------------
Well I've got a new well-girl challenge I'm doing for May. Not sure if the board masters here accept this site or not. I never know until they delete my links- but here is the challenge for the month:

I've been keeping up with it daily :-) and I plan to all month long. Also I'm inspired to TRACK every morsel this month. Using a site I can't mention here, which has an app I can access on my phone, so I have no excuses! Cheats and all, I want to know EXACTLY how much I am eating on a daily basis. As mentioned above, this maintenance roller coaster is like splurging then skimping and doing it all over again. I need consistency. I need to know how much I can take in each day and stay the same weight. I need to track this for more than just one week. So for all of May I'm going to pay attention and see if I can learn anything about myself, because it seems like all I know right now is that if I have cake or bread or pasta on the weekends I better drop the carbs to like 20 or 30 for a couple days to even it out....

Ok third thing for May.....I'm going to weigh ONLY on wednesdays. So far it's been good - I haven't wanted to check.

Yay girl Ya know you are doing great and I wish I had done it your way at your age. Im finally getting it. at 51. ugh. well 165 is the lowest I have been in 24 yrs. so I only hit that once and that was last yr. so my goal first is to get back to that. and guess what I was down to 71.5 this am. Im stoked. way better than the 174 on Monday. I learned after last weekend I must stay as low as I can. Under 20. my goal for 169 by the end of May looks doable now.

Thanks, but as you can see it's STILL a struggle to maintain.....you can never really let your guard down, but when you do it's time to tighten up.

Yeah no kidding!! Even I spent a few years doing Weight watchers only to struggle and struggle and gain and lose over and over while STARVING!! I wish I knew about low carb eating before that!!!! But yeah I am lucky to have it under control at this point. It's knowledge that will help me remain healthy.....I KNOW what to do, just gotta keep doing it. CONGRATS on the loss, gosh you are SO close that first goal. String together 2 or 3 days of super clean eating and you'll have a whoosh that'll get you into the 160's!!!! One day at a time!!

With that said, I had a bad weekend eating/drinking-wise!!! The kids went to their grammy's saturday night and we (DH and I) went to a friends 40th birthday party. Wow I drank so much. It was literally one mile away so we kinda "let loose" knowing we could just walk home if needed. DH was good, I was a mess. I was sick ALLLLL day Sunday :-( My own fault. The good part was that DH felt fine yesterday so he helped a lot with the kids when they came home. They were very good too though, I napped with my daughter in the afternoon and sat outside with them later in the day while they played. Then went to visit my Mom with the kids, where I FINALLY had an appetite and ate everything in sight. Including some bread and ice cream. LOL....I hadn't eaten since the day before so my body needed it, I did not track Saturday or Sunday :-( I didn't even do the workouts from Well-girl. But as far as Mothers Day goes, it was a great day. I just wish I felt better :-(

Ok the past is the past now it's Monday, back to clean eating and exercising. Today I am going to pick some fiddle heads at lunch, and tonight I'll do the lunge twists along with some KB swings and Ab stuff. Tomorrow there is no school so I will do a workout to a DVD, it's supposed to be rainy tomorrow so that's why I'm going fiddle head picking today at lunch. DH picked some for me on Saturday and I made a quiche with them last night (Cheddar, garlic and fiddle head quiche, MMmmmmmm). Aren't they the cutest yummiest little things:

todays meals:
BRK: 3/4 cup greek yogurt, a couple diced strawberries and fresh ground cinnamon
LCH: Ham salad (homemade) on lettuce with a pickle
SNK: Dark Chocolate squares x2
SNK2: carrot sticks and ranch
DNR: Not sure yet, DH is at poker tonight....I might just comb the fridge for leftovers.
DRK: water (NO coffee and NO wine today), orange vanilla seltzer (HIGHLY recommend this flavor!!)

Ugh - back to the grind.

wow has it really been this long since I posted here? Ugh!! I'm getting bad about checking in! Big No-No!! Need to work on that, it's just that I've been SO busy, argh. Anyway the holiday weekend went well. My son Aiden's 5th birthday party was a hit, we dodged some rain drops but my house still looks clean hee heee. I ate a few non-legal things over the weekend. I did my best to balance it out though, I must have done OK as weight today is 134.2 which is spot on.

Lacking in exercise! I didn't even get my daily well-girl workouts in this weekend :-( I did however play in a bounce house, danced with a bunch of toddlers, vacuumed like crazy, and countless other things that kept me moving 24/7. Have had a nice clean start to the week. I was really bad about water so my goal for this week was to GET THE WATER IN. Yesterday I was close to 40oz. Today I hope to hit 50+ gotta get this coffee down first. I'm also going to catch up on some workouts tonight!

todays menu:
BRK: 1/2 cup greek yogurt, some blueberries, grapes and cinnamon
LCH: Leftover cheeseburgers on lettuce with tomato, mayo, spicy mustard, and a pickle
SNK: Dark Chocolate squares x2
DNR: Grilled Chicken with sauteed green beans, maybe a small side of cottage cheese
DRK: coffee with tsp raw sugar and 1/2 & 1/2, water water water water

P.S. I have finally KICKED the fake coffee creamer to the curb!!! No more concoction of chemicals on a daily basis. It's just a tiny bit of sugar and lots of cream now! It's very freeing to have gotten to this. I was drinking the vanilla flavored fake stuff EVERY DAY!

Look at this list of ingredients, EWE:

INGREDIENTS: WATER, CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN AND/OR COTTONSEED OIL, AND LESS THAN 2% OF SODIUM CASEINATE (A MILK DERIVATIVE)**, MALTODEXTRIN, MONO- AND DIGLYCERIDES, DIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE, COLOR ADDED, NATURAL & ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, CARAGEENAN, DEXTROSE, SUCRALOSE, ACESULFAME POTASSIUM (NON-NUTRITIVE SWEETENER).

* Don't get me wrong, this stuff helped me LOSE over 30 lbs, it's a great tool to get you there, but think of it as a temporary part of your diet. It can't be good to have all that stuff on a daily basis for your whole life.

**WARNING**

Major food porn coming up!

We made "beer can" chicken on the grill last weekend, super tasty and moist! You literally just stick a can of beer (opened and half full) inside the cavity of the chicken and grill. Ours took about 1 hour and 45 mins, we used a dry rub of tuscan style herbs. It was awesome:

Before- After-

Then the other night we made a jambalaya but with riced cauliflower instead of regular rice. It was awesome (summer sausage, red pepper, yellow pepper, onion and lots of spices!) -

LAST night was the best meal of the week. DH made stuffed burgers again, they are so big you couldn't even attempt to use a bun! They have to be eaten with a fork ;-) He made a SPECIAL one for me stuffed with goat cheese, jalapeno's and BACON:

(sorry for the blurry shot- thats bacon, lettuce, and tomato on the side with mayo slathered all over)

Last but not least-- I made a homamade ham salad using leftover steak we grilled the other night. It was SO GOOD!! And I ate it with strawberries!?!?! Who would've thought that combo would be so tasty. What a yummy lunch (banana peppers on the side too!):

Ok that's my week of yummy-ness. Weight is great, today I'm at 135.8 and maintaining VERY well. It's not easy, but with good food like I have been eating it's certainly a delicious ride!

I am adding a whole chicken to my grocery list now. OH and somehow a can of beer! DH likes it by the bottle. I will convince him a 6 pack of cans will work too!

Thanks for the recipe! OH to be as tiny as you !!! You are doing great! How are the chickens doing? Do you have a garden out?

Hi Marika-- thanks for stopping by!!! The key to maintaining for me is surrounding myself with my favorite "legal" foods. Once you stop enjoying WHAT You eat that's when you start to stray......I'm bad like that. Give me Bacon and Steak and I'm set for life!

Hi Monica--- Yes yes make that chicken, you will be super impressed! It's so moist and tasty, there are a million recipes on ways to do it online- just google beer can chicken you'll find a ton. Good luck getting DH to drink cans, maybe if he knows there's dinner involved he'll be more on board with it :-) The chickens are great! We're still getting eggs, we got them all winter. We have some nice hens - 10 of them, and we get at least 7 or 8 eggs a day. It's GREAT!

OK Well weigh-in Wednesday not too exciting, I'm at 136.8 which is in a good range. I'm going to keep my numbers low for a couple days (around the 30-40 carb mark). I was really enjoying hanging around 133-134 during May. All that tracking made me think twice about the tiny little bites I was taking here and there-- I'd think to myself, it's just too much work to figure out how to add to my ****** account a bite of noodles, 3 m&m's, an apple slice, and a half chicken nugget so instead I would throw it in the chicken food bin and not have any. LOL.... Seems like I can only be good about this stuff when I'm challenging myself, why can't I be good all the time? Ugh.,....

Exercise GREAT, I did the well-girl challenge yesterday and last night I used my kettlebells for a little UBWO. Need to keep this motivation going!!! I think I'm going to try and squeeze in the ABS RAPIDO workout at lunch today! It's only 10 minutes, and it's killer.....

Anyone interested in doing these little daily exercises? Here is June's calendar:

todays meals:
BRK: egg muffin
LCH: leftover stuffed cheeseburger on spinach with mayo and mustard
SNK: string cheese x 2
DNR: sausage and spaghetti squash with onions and tomato sauce topped with parm
DRK: coff w/tsp raw sugar and lots of cream, maybe some wine tonight

Jessica, I hear you on eating legal foods that you actually enjoy. It makes a big difference.

I am in total exercise funk but your schedule looks very doable. I just need a kick in the butt to start right back Hopefully soon, as I am warming up to doing more than just walking.

Slacking here, but if I can get to posting at least ONCE a week than I feel like i'm at least a little on track, hee hee..

Weigh day yesterday was good, 135.0 ON THE DOT. I did a workout from the Brazil Butt Lift yesterday too, Bum Bum... Holy OUCH. My rear-end is so sore today, and it will only get worse as the day goes on!!!! Today I'm going to do an Upper Body workout and give the legs a rest.

Quick post--- super busy!!! Headed to Denver tomorrow for a trade show, will be there for 6 days. Excited to go, and weigh in day was good at 134.0 so I can indulge just a touch. I'm on my feet so much for these things that it's hard to go overboard anyway.

Back next wednesday!

Well it's been over 3 weeks since I posted last, I can't believe how bad I've been about that. I'm sure nobody is following anyway, but posting keeps me on track. Luckily things have been going very well for me in July.

I'm doing the Brazil Butt Lift workout all month, Every day except saturday and sunday it's a different workout from the program. There is an Abs one (Tummy Tuck), a full body workout with weights (Sculpt), a cardio one (Cardio Axe) and two lower body workouts (Bum Bum and High & Tight). I'm already seeing a difference, it's pretty cool!

Not much change with the weight, I've been as high as 139 and as low as 132 - today I'm at 133.8. I have had LOTS of good food this month as well, will post all the yummy great things next.

The kids are having a great summer too, we plan to spend tomorrow at the lake. It's supposed to be 80 and Sunny :-) PERFECT!!! I think the weather forecast actually had the word "delightful" as a description for tomorrow.

Todays meals:
BRK: 1 egg, 2 pcs of salami, 1 pc cheese, 1/2 avocado
LCH: ham salad on kale, tomato, and pickles
SNK: Dark Chocolate or an iced coffee
DNR: Sushi and hibachi steak with vegetables (going out to eat with friends tonight)
DRK: coffee with cream and 1 tsp of raw sugar, a pepsi max, water, and definitely a few glasses of wine later.

This came out awesome...came across it in a google search. We grilled it for almost an hour though, DH likes his cauliflower a bit softer than I do.

Ingredients:

Servings: 4

Units: US | Metric

1 head cauliflower
1/4-1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoning salt (I use Nature's Seasonings)
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Directions:

1 Remove stem& leaves from cauliflower.
2 Wash& pat dry.
3 Spread the butter over the cauliflower. This is fun, like icing a cake....!
4 Sprinkle with seasoned salt& cheese.
5 Wrap head of cauliflower in heavy duty aluminum foil.
6 Grill over medium heat about 40 minutes or until desired tenderness (test with toothpick)

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I got this from a blog (Kalyn's Kitchen) and thought I would try it. Wow I'll be making this AGAIN AND AGAIN. Super easy and very delicious!!!

Grilled Zucchini Pizza Slices

--large zucchini
--olive oil
--pizza sauce of your choice (tomato, pesto, white cheese, etc..)
--grated cheese
--pizza toppings of your choice (we used simply pepperoni, but the options are endless!)

Oil the grill and preheat to medium high

Cut zucchini into thick slices about 3/4 inch thick.

Grill the zucchini 7-8 minutes on one side or until there are some grill marks and it's starting to be tender.

Remove zucchini from the grill, putting them grilled-side up on a cutting board you can use to take them to the kitchen. Add sauce, cheese, and other toppings as desired.

Put loaded zucchini slices back on the grill and cook 7-8 minutes more with the grill lid closed. (Check them every few minutes to see when the cheese is melted and the toppings are lightly browned, If you have a gas grill where you can regulate the heat, I turned it to high when I put the pizza back on.)

Remove zucchini pizzas from grill and serve hot.

ANd one more yummy thing to share:

Grilled Venison Marinated with Spike seasoning and Olive Oil

(no real recipe here)

just cut any meat up in whatever size you want to grill it, toss in some olive oil, generously sprinkle SPIKE all over, give it a good stir, cover, and let sit for a couple of hours before grilling. Pre-heat grill and cook to your desired temperature!! Wow spike is really good as a marinade.....and it has NO SUGAR :-)
