Joy, your meals look fantastic. How are you able to squeeze peanut butter and ice cream into your low carb count? That is amazing.

Gail, I wasn't really able to get the ice cream into my count for the day, but it was worth the splurge! I had a CarbSmart ice cream bar (6g) and 2 tbs of PB (6g)!

I had a bad splurge yesterday with regular ice cream and the 3lb gain definitely wasn't worth it!

Went wine tasting for work yesterday so I was expecting this to be a bad week (and no, my job is normally not this much fun lol). Unfortunately, I went a little overboard with the food afterwards

7/2 (45 carb day): 238.0
B: atkins bar (3g)
L: Cobb salad (?g) & Coffee w/ cream (I'm pretty sure they put sugar in it too )
S: LOTS of wine & some meats/cheeses (~30g?)
D: French fries, tacos, and TWO ice cream bars

Needless to say, I was NOT pleased with the scale this morning! And on top of that, I felt sick all night!

Hoping I can come back from this over the long weekend!

The wine was amazing!! Totally would have been worth it if it hadn't been for the snacking afterwards!

Well this week sure has been a doozy so far. I spent most of the day on Wednesday cleaning the house for a visit from the future in-laws and gave in to a huge burrito for dinner Not a great choice during an already bad week.. and now that they are actually HERE I am trying really hard not to strangle anyone and I'm just really hoping I don't console myself with any more treats!

My new goal for the week is just to get back down to where I was on Monday!! Hopefully my next personal training session tomorrow will help with that

7/3: 241.0
B: Atkins Bar
L: Hamburger meat
D: Burrito

7/4: 242.0 lbs
B: Hamburger meat & bacon
L: Grande iced coffee w/ half and half & Grande latte with half and half
D: atkins bar

7/5: 240.4 lbs
B: N/A
L: Hamburger, guacamole, bacon, cheese
D: 2 grande coffees w/ half and half

Had my second personal training session this morning! Definitely sore again but I'm SO glad I'm doing this. I just don't have the drive to force myself to work so hard! I have four more sessions in the package I purchased. Then I'll reassess what I want to do. I don't really have the $$ to be doing this forever so hopefully I'll be able to continue on my own...

7/6: 239.4 lbs
B: Atkins Bar
L: About a 1/2 cup of almonds & pistachios
D: Fried chicken with most of the fried yumminess picked off

Joy, I think personal training is a GREAT investment and very wise of you to do this. I am going to get back to it eventually. I did it about two years ago when I lived in New York and LOVED it. What made me really happy was to see that I actually had pretty good fitness levels, particularly in endurance and strength, for my weight and age. I am sure that you will find that too.

Your food looks good too! Hope you have a great day today!

So so so so sore today! I feel like a little old lady groaning with each little movement! But at least I know my personal training time is well spent! I was hoping for a drop on the scale this morning like last week but that didn't happen so I'm definitely not making it down to where I was last Monday by tomorrow but at least I'm back on track!

Oh, and did I mention I'm sore??

7/7: 239.4 lbs
B: atkins bar & coffee w/ cream
L: hamburger meat & bacon.

I really need to get to the grocery store so i'm not eating hamburger meat and bacon for every meal!

I don't know what happened yesterday but I'm down 2.4 lbs today!! I'm down to 237.0 which means I actually LOST 0.8 lbs last week!! So excited!

I weighed myself multiple times on different floors so I'm pretty confident its right... but we'll see tomorrow lol

I stumbled across a random website that gave advice on motivation for weight loss that I think can be helpful. I'm going to try and do the following:

1. Instead of rewarding myself for reaching weight loss goals every week, I will change them to fitness/eating goals:
-If I meet my goal carb count each day, I get to watch 1 hour of TV after work
-If I exercise three hours a week (including walking), I get a mani or pedi
-If I meet my carb goals for at least 60 days AND my exercise goals for at least 9 weeks by Oct 1st, I will get to use the Coach bag I bought for motivation back in April. If I meet those goals sooner, that means I get my bag sooner too!

It also said to visualize your future self in two ways: first think of yourself one year from now if you continued with your healthy lifestyle and then visualize yourself in a year if you gave up today. Makes you rethink that doughnut you're about to eat!

7/9 (20 carb day): 237.0 lbs
B: atkins bar (2g)
L: Chipotle (6g)
D: N/A

I've been doing well so far this week but I just remembered that this weekend is going to be a problem. Going to a wedding on Saturday so there will be good food, cake, and drinks! But I am keeping my personal training appointment in the morning so I'll probably be too sore to get up to get more drinks anyway! My game plan is to only eat whatever meat they're serving, only have rum & diets, and only half a piece of cake (because I can't not have cake!). If I stick with that, I think I can keep my carbs under 46g for the day..

7/11 (0 carb day): 236.0 lbs
B: Sausage & bacon
L: Turkey & cheese
D: hamburger meat & bacon

Walked 2.3 miles (about .75 miles up hill)

I just found an old notebook.. I apparently was planning on starting my diet back in January. My starting weight January 15 was 246.. Now I'm 10 lbs lighter than that! Kind of embarrassing that I gained 20 lbs instead of losing.. but at least I'm lower now right??

So I decided to look back over my weight history.. and I think I just learned something about myself lol! I've always felt like I've handled stressful situations well and have never really felt particularly stressed out about anything in my life.. but I'm pretty sure that I must be an emotional stress eater! The most stressful/busy times of my life I've gained obscene amounts of weight..

Spr 2005: 135 lbs Absolute thinnest I have ever been!
Spr 2008: 150 lbs New bf went on deployment
Sum 2009: 180 lbs Started watching what I ate but couldn't lose!
Fall 2010: 180 lbs Started a new job and started MBA classes full time
Spr 2012: 230 lbs I was so busy I didn't even realize I was gaining at all until now
Sum 2012: 240 lbs Started Atkins
Fall 2012: 214 lbs Lowest before stopping Atkins.. right when I started another new job
Jan 2013: 246 lbs Got engaged and had plans to start a diet before the wedding
Apr 2013: 259 lbs Wedding planning + work schedule=Yikes! Started low carb again
Jul 2013: 236 lbs The longest I've managed to keep up losing weight!

What a depressing 8 years! But this is just more motivation for me to stay on track. Will hopefully be back down to 180 by the end of this year!

7/13 (46 carb): 236.6 lbs
B: atkins bar
L: blue cheese nachos, fried artichoke hearts, and cucumber lime gimlet
D: SEVERAL white russians, beef with gravy, mashed potatoes, candy, cake

Not quite 0 carbs for the day but after having to be at work at 5am on a Sunday (after staying late at the wedding last night!) and no time for breakfast, I didn't really care!
