First post to set up this journal. More to come later today as I need to log my initial weigh in, measurements, photos, etc. I'll also talk a little bit about my battle with weight through the years as a back story and to learn from. I hope I can get some perspective on weight loss this time and make it happen once and for all.

Alright. The official start weight is also the highest weight I've ever been. That's okay. It's all downhill from here! :jumpjoy:

A little background:

Fall 2000 - I'm 15 years old, 5'2, and weigh 149 lbs. My mom and I start Atkins and working out three times a week. I think I got down to the low 130s. Not sure how long that took.

Fall 2001 - I'm 16 and gained a bit back. I was probably in the 140s again. My friends and I decide to try low carb again. I think I'm the only one who really kept at it. I get down to my all-time low weight of 120ish. Look great, feel awesome.

Summer 2002 - Still in the 120s, meet a boy, start dating, and I know you can see where this is going.

Prom 2003 - Still looking okay, in the 130s. Wearing a size 6 prom dress.

Prom 2004 - Probably 155. Size 12 prom dress. A year of eating at home then eating with the boyfriend a second time has put on the weight.

Fall 2004 - Start college in the high 150s/low 160s.

January 2006 - 164 lbs and start a biggest loser challenge with my family. Prize is $500 for the greatest percentage of weight lost. I start working out 5x a week with The Firm and eating 5 small meals a day. I don't count or measure, just eyeball amounts.

April 2006 - 135 lbs and winner of $500. I end college this year going home to the summer of my skinniest in years, working physical labor gets me down to 130.

August 2006 - Family reunion spirals me out of my good eating to unhealthy eating.

February 2008 - 168 lbs. Boyfriend and I break up after 5 1/2 years together.

March 2008 - 158 lbs. Eating became secondary to my downward spiral and depression.

May 2008 - Graduate from school, move to SC. Probably 164 lbs.

January 2009 - Start a weight loss competition with some friends. Starting out in the 180s or 170s. Lose a bit of weight down to 168.

Thanksgiving 2009 - Start Weight Watchers for the first time. Go from 190s to 170s. Feeling good but get off track.

April 2013 - 213.6 lbs. Highest I've ever weighed. Low carb seems to be the best way to get back on track since I don't like tracking portions/calories/points and love to eat. I feel fat, lazy, physically pained. I don't feel attractive and haven't had any sort of relationship since the one that ended in college. I'm feeling very hopeful for this way of eating.

So far, so good today. Definitely need to go grocery shopping today though so I'm prepared for eating this week. Making my list now!

Great first day. Was feeling hungry all day yesterday even though I ate so much low carb and fat foods. Guess my body was craving carbs and refused to feel satisfied otherwise. Too bad body. I'm in control now!

Time to get ready for work. Hoping I can scramble some eggs quick before I go. Excited for day 2. :-)

Went a bit crazy on some nuts yesterday. Note to self: do not bring nuts to work. I can't control myself around them. I did have delicious salami and cream cheese roll-ups for lunch yesterday. Here's to another day!

Ate a little more carbs than I was planning yesterday and just started my period so I can see why the little stall. Eating on plan today and hopefully I'll see a whoosh soon!
