85.9 kilos and it is the week before Tom. I slept a lot last night, but not well. 2x5 hours does not equal 10 . What I would like is 8 hours straight. Miffed and fed up ,but not in the ditching all sense. I will saty the course and get down there to that goal somehow.
Oh ,I ditched coffee completely now. Green tea has appeared at breakfast time .So far so good. When I slept well I did not miss the coffee, this morning I could have murdered a cup. It all connects with the idea that my hormones are working whenthey should not.
More reading to do.

Good evening for a change . Weight this morning 86.9 . I am hoping it is TOM as the new regime of a megabreakfast worries me slightly but it hlps with keeping hormones on an even keel so I will suck it up for now.
Nancy I read that you are stressed and not sleeping too good. I slept great last night ,I went to bed early at 11 ,early for me and took a third of a melatoning supplement. I don't wish to get used to them as I want to retrain my own melatonin but as I was frazzled I took it . It worked beautifully . I slept for 7 hours which is not bad for me.
A couple of days more and I will go au natural again.
Nothing more to tell ,Thai Red chicken curry night tonight - Yay !

Good morning , 86.5 today down again. Sigh of relief.
I was a tad worried as I am experimenting with new foods and not exactly keeping track of carbs. I know I am lowcarb at a guess I ate atmost 40 g of carbs one day but I don't know my threshold and with TOM I cannot tell . Don't ask how I can tell usually.

Two new additions to the diet yesterday, both a success. Patagonian red alga of the nori family and peashoots. I wanted algae from here as the places where chinese and japanese algae come from are quite often in the news and not for their algae production. The peashoots had caught my eye some time back but as often happens in the chinese stores they had no label and I did not know what they were. Yesterday I found them with label and they are great in terms of nutrition and carb content. Don't look them up on the site for nutrition data though. They show the values for peas and the sprout has already depleted the energy of the seed (pea) for its growth so the value is much much lower as other sites state.

Gonna run .off to the market.

Interesting that you are adding algae to your eating. What does one do with algae? how do you prep it? Why eat it??? Honestly just curious. I would never consider eating it.

Hiya Nancy, they come in dry roasted flake form or sheets. I have the sprinkly type and I add it to sauces,my omelette or anything that could use a saltycondiment. The taste is not fishy, just tastes like good seasalt. In appearance it looks like black rice paper specks. Recomendable as they are full of goodness,B12,silica,iodine phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc selenium.
Zink ,iodine, silica and selenium are difficult to come by with today´s agriculture so the algae are a macrofood .

You can alos reconstitute the sheets and make "laverbread" (considering that )
However it depends on if I can find them sourced here. I don't want any from China or Japan because of the potential high pollution.

They also have chestnut flour and malt flour .I have not checked these out yet. If any is locarb I see bread in my future. Going out to get sauerkraut today. Here most good things ;I mean good for us are not in the supermarket but in small stores dotted all over the place so it can be a trek sometimes but fun too!

good morning . I forgot to weigh today. I did weigh after my tea and it came to 86.8 so that is sort of okay.
Other than that we have arctic weather so I have ben doing a lot of cold thermogenesis yesterday. I love being cold in the right way, that is before the shivering point. It is a therapy for weight loss but also for healing the damageof years of whatever.

Good morning 86.7 kilos with TOMstill being a houseguest.

It is cold here, with winchill we are at 31 F in the mornings. I profited from it and used it for cold tehrmogenesis. I did around 35 minutes at the coldest parts of the day. Last night I slept 10.5 hours with no sleep aid. Yay. I amputting it down to the cold thermogenesis.

I spent the rest of the day listing all the nutrition values of my core foods and I am pretty pleased. A post in the main low carb lobby inspired me to see what I eat exactly and how varied it is. They are
Ground grassfed beef, freerange chicken, freerange organic eggs, grassfed butter , gf cream and gf cheese, biological hard salami ( as near as a pig gets to organic due to laws etc) liverwurst not bio but without fillers, black and yellow sesame, algae from Patagonia, poppyseed, cauliflower, peashoots, sauerkraut, green and red cabbage and Brussels sprouts. Soon sour bamboo shoots ,too. Fish of course.

Not much more to report .Off to do some rmore CT.

Good morning. Still at 86.7 .Humph . TOM left early so at least by Fri I should lose the hopefully water weight. Cold Thgenesis makes me hungrier than normal.
It is also said that women lose slower than men with it . Grrr. I want to be ready for summer . I have visions of wearing a bikini without having to leave territorial waters so as not to be seen.
But hey ho,what will be will be.

I finally got the bamboo shots and the first try was a 100 % failure. I cooked one with my omelette stirfried and did not like it . I threw it to the dog and he refused it. That dog has eaten lemon halves with relish . So that is saying something if she refuses to eat that. I will give them another try for a soup. It is strange. The non fermented ones I enjoyed.

Good morning right back at ya. Going good so far. I went to the market this morning for y grassfed stuffs, butter cheese and cream and freerange eggs. A bit later we are off out to go sailing. Woohoo,it has been a month since conditions have been right. In winter we want barely any wind that has to come from the north as it is warmer and full sun. In spite of my liking cold thermogenesis without that it would be more cold than required..
Hope you are having a great day as well.

Good morning 86.5 kilos today. It will change one day...

Thanks Nancy, we cleared the whole weekend just to be able to go out when the time is right.

Yesterday I had tons of energy even though I had not slept well the night before. I know why now. Vitamin C just before bedtime is a stimulant.
So now vits in the morning lunchtime, minerals nighttime or better to say dinner with magnesium an hour before bedtime.

Not much more to tell I am not happy with the new regime for the lack of weightloss even a slight gain but I feel so good on it . Very balanced, lots of energy. I was told that this happens to women who do cold thermogenesis but of course I was going to be the rare one with all the benefits and none of the drawbacks hehe.

Sailing was great this weekend. We managed to go out both days.
Food ok .trying out a new thing - pectin water. The idea being that the pectin slows the absorption of water and being absorbed more becasue of it.
Not much more to tell. As part of stress reduction I have been convinced not to weigh everyday. I still don't think I stress but to dot the Is and cross the Ts I don't weigh let´s say until Saturday.

Still cold but warm enough this weekend to venture out. We had 63F but with 100 % humidity it does feel cold. I enjoy it but everyone else is wrapped up like a polar explorer. We almost went out today but there was fog today that would not lift so it was safer at the dock.

Good morning Nancy .
Not much new to report here . Eating wise I am doing good but have not made anything interesting recently .Well, maybe this
1. After eight tea: mix unsweetened cocoa and water and simmer for a few minutes
make peppermint tea ,add the chocolate sweetener ,enjoy.

2. I made cinnamon water, basically a stick of cinnamon boiled up in water. Add lemon juice and sweetener and you have something with the cooling effect of cola . there are no exact measurements. You need to experiment how much cinnamon you want to taste.

Good morning,

reasonable sleep today 7 hours from 11pm .
Just had my BAB of 4 eggs and 6 ozs of sausage with a buttered earl grey tea .It is weird . I am in ketosis and I am hungry all the time .

I do notice non weight changes though. I have energy all day and my stress levels are way down from what they were. I had to go into the centre today and catch my bus home from one of the main train stations at evening rush hour. I would have normally done this at a sprint with gritted teeth but yesterday I even stopped in some shoe shops on the way.
To illustrate the area is full of mums with kids in tow coming home from daycare, office workers rushing home, men with sack carts making deliveries,s treet vendors blankets on ground needing to be avoided and last but not least traffic with concerts of horns blaring.

The chocolate was a disappointment, 72 % only. I spoke to one of the managers and he assures me that this is the highest percentage chocolate being produced here. I feel a project coming on ...

Oh, another discovery when I went to the German butcher yesterday . They have mettwurst. What is that I hear you ask. Well,it is a raw pork suage that is slow fermented for 2 weeks over hickory wood or some wood like that. I need to look into this further. Fermented would mean good bacteria cultures I would hope. The more the merrier if they settle where they should and balance out my flora . Sorry if this is TMI but it is very important and a lot of people think of their gut as having one function only- exit route! Not so.
