I'm so sorry to hear about your granddad. It's awful when someone you love is too far away to really do much to help. Be careful with that neighbor! If your gut is telling you he isn't doing all he can, you're probably right.

Hope you get to feeling better!

Monica - F*cking A I will!!!! my last holiday was in 2008 and I had been ill so weighed about 105 lbs .. don't quite think I'll be THAT slim but hey, ya never know!

Carol - I'm not sure what it is about Colin (The neighbour) something just doesn't sit right. I do genuinely believe he's trying to do the right thing but there's been too many times now that my Grandad has been in hospital for one thing or another and the hospital haven't contacted my Mum (His next of kin) we've only found out a few days later or when he's home!

Now today I feel a whole lot better than I did yesterday, working this afternoon instead of morning so didn't have to be in work until 12.30. Got up reasonably early, did 20 minutes on the cross trainer and cleaned and tidied the house before having a shower & getting ready for work. We brought one of those adjustable beds back from my Grandads at the weekend to use as a guest bed in our spare room but also to help me when I don't sleep well because of pain and before I left the house all 5 of the cats were fast asleep on it so seems they approve!

Reading through my posts I look like I'm bipolar, can't believe how up and down my posts are from one day to the next... oh well, hope I can keep my 'positive' going for a few days at least. I've finally got my appointment with the counselling lady next Thursday - I think that will help a lot x

Gina, I think we probably all sound/seem a bit bipolar during this weight loss journey. It adds in an emotional component to regular life, which is emotional enough already!

I now have a mental image of all your kitties on that bed, sitting in a circle around the controls, and slowly figuring out how to make it work! Kittie rides!

I miss having a dog, we considered it for a while last year but agreed we're both too lazy and it would be seriously outnumbered with 5 cats!! lol!

Crashed and burned a bit yesterday rounded off with a total of 2250 calories instead of 1600 luckily the scale didn't show it this morning however when I got home Wayne really cheered me up - he'd made me a spoon ring Ok, it's out of a stainless steel spoon instead of Silver but still... totally made my day!

Full day at work today, fingers crossed I can get through it without the tears of the last few days x

Spoon ring? Describe it. Is it just as it sounds?

I was trying to put a photo on but the option to upload pics seems to have disappeared. It's basically a spoon handle cut and wound into a ring shape
Similar to this but stainless steel and the spoon it was made from is prettier coz it has little roses on it!

Hi Gina! Just read your journal. I want to send you big hugs! Btw, my dh is from Belfast, Northern Ireland. I love listening to him speak. I found him in an Irish pub in San Diego California and never let him go. Sending positive vibes your way for job/money and encouragement.

Hi Ladies

Sorry I've been MIA. Had a mad busy weekend because it was Wayne's birthday on Sunday. We were out Saturday night, went to an all you can eat buffet then out drinking with friends and on Sunday his Mum cooked a big roast dinner for us so needless to say my diet has *NOT* stayed on track.

I had to leave his Mums fairly early on Sunday because I started getting really bad stomach cramps, I was up most of the night with it and had to call in work sick on Monday. Tuesday was still bad but dragged myself into work and yesterday just didn't want to get out of bed!

Missed my weigh in yesterday partly because of how rubbish I felt and partly because I was weighing back in at 200 lbs on Monday.

So anyways.... as of yesterday back on JUDDD. Yesterday was my UD so today is my first DD. Going to keep to the eod rotations this time and according to the site my calories are 2004 for an UD and 401 for a DD. I will have to have an MD on Monday so I can have a DD on Tuesday ready for my weigh in on Wednesday but I wont make the mistake of having two UD's together like I did last time.

Question for those of you on JUDDD though, obviously as you lose the weight your calorie allocation changes according to the site. How often do you check what your targets should be?

Today's DD Menu:

L: Ryvita Crackerbread with marmite x 2
D: Chicken Fajitas with onion, pepper etc,.

Totals about 570c so not bad for a first again

Gina, all the best with JUDDD!
From what I read on JUDDD forum you stay with original numbers and only adjust them to new weight if you stop losing.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Sounds like a fun birthday celebration - all except the stomach issues!

Welcome back to JUDDD! Marika is right, don't mess with your numbers unless/until your losses stop, and that includes inch losses as well as scale losses. And you'll want to be real patient and not tweak too much too soon. Like if you don't lose for a week, don't tweak. Let it go 3 or 4 weeks before deciding you've truly stalled. I really believe that switching and changing and tweaking too often messes me up big time!

Good luck! Hope you're feeling better!

Well my first down day came in at 530c so I'm really pleased with that
My UD menu today is:

B: Hot Chocolate with Butter Croissant 390c
L: Ryvita Crackerbreads with Salmon Paste 300c
D: Sirloin steak with reduced fat fries and 2 x eggs 600c

Still have about 800c to play with so I feel today is going to be a good day.
Going to keep off alcohol for a few weeks, want to get back into weight loss mode before I indulge too much.

Also I've been walking, I've walked 3 miles in the past 2 days. I know it's not a lot but I find the Cross Trainer so hard (Probably because I'm SO unfit) that I thought I could build up gradually.

Went for my first counselling session yesterday, well Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. We ended up running over by about 20 minutes, I got a lot off my chest and actually feel it will really help me so here goes! xx
