Raspberry smoothies! Yum!

I did three days. It felt good, like I was centering myself. I'm actually considering doing another three days next week, Monday-Wednesday. Don't know why, exactly, just that it appeals to me.

Weird. I never would have thought that voluntarily not eating would APPEAL to me.

And yet, eating yesterday appealed to me just as much. And I am looking forward to food tomorrow and Sunday. I have some of the leftover turnip/chard/bacon casserole, and we have three zucchinis ready to be harvested. And I just made a turkey dinner yesterday, so we have all the leftovers. I LOVE turkey leftovers. I'm going to do a nice tetrazzini, with plenty of mushrooms. And I am making coconut-chia seed pudding this afternoon, to have tomorrow.

So, I have not taken against food by any means. I just seem to be more deliberate about it, now that I do JUDDD.

I saw something(I think on Pinterest-very dangerous!) about a neat thing to do with Thanksgiving leftovers. You take stuff, and compress it in a waffle iron, cooking up a 'stuffing waffle'. Then you top it with any of the chopped up leftovers you want; turkey, potatoes, any vegetables. And pour on some gravy. I will definitely be trying it this year!
I love the leftovers as much as the holiday meal.

By 'stuff' in the previous post, I meant STUFFING! Sheesh. How embarrassing.

Enjoying having Bean in our family. She is a fun little dog. She is slowly learning WHICH food bowl is hers, and which are off limits. Has discovered that there are sometimes treats to be had in the kitchen. Still has no concept of walking in a straight line when leashed.

Today I am going to try out a recipe I saw for Kiwi Key Lime Tarts. Vegan, so no eggs or dairy to worry about. The main ingredient is avocado. I'll report back.

Just put stuff in the waffle iron! That could work.

The KKLTs were good. Not so good that I wanted to eat all of them, but enjoyable as a dessert. I DO think I will need to get used to the idea of sweet avocado, even though I could barely taste the avocado. The predominant flavor is lime and honey. (Hey, I just realized there was honey in that recipe and vegans aren't supposed to do honey. Snicker.) Littlest thought they would have been better if they had been a little firmer. I might add some gelatin if I make them again. Then they DEFINITELY won't be vegan.

We are going to go out to eat for Father's Day today. Not sure where Honey will choose. I am not feeling much desire to eat this morning. Maybe my mind is saving itself for dinner.

We went to a churrascaria for dinner, which was delicious. And we had lots of good and fun conversation. But...they were out of roasted plantains AND they never brought the rolls to our table, though we asked twice. The potatoes were not worth having, so I was low on starch. Which somehow ended in me scarfing a donut and some candy when I went to gas up the car. Not my finest moment.

Looking forward to my Down Day today. I'm planning water and maybe a green smoothie.

Just back from my quilting retreat.

I quilted a blue scrap top.
Basted the hourglass exchange top.
Finished the quilting on the second Christmas quilt.
Attached binding to the first Christmas quilt, and started hand-sewing it down.
Put the last row on the log cabin quilt and the borders.
Got excited about two, no, make that three, new projects.

Had a blast with my friends!

As always after our quilting retreats, I feel like sewing even MORE! I am going to do a few additional things today, while I've got my mojo in full gear.

Also, drinking lots of green smoothies to recover from the less than stellar food choices(although I DID eat two good salads!).

That sounds like so much fun! And productive fun too. I have such fond memories of hand piecing with my grandma as a little girl. I loved sitting squished up next to her on her sofa (divan as she called it) and her leaning over watching my stitches.

Yesterday:

Up at 6:00
8:30 liverwurst
9:30 guacamole and pork rinds
12:00 "
12:30 2 avocado key lime tarts
2:30 liverwurst, turnip-chard-bacon casserole, daikon-cucumber-carrot pickles
3:00 1 avocado key lime tart
4:00 liver wurst and another tart
4:30 spoon of peanut butter
7:00 salad with viniagrette, craisins, red onion, and walnuts, steak, squash and peppers
8:30 2 avocado key lime tarts
Bed at 10:30

My goal was to indulge freely in fats, to try and tamp down the sugar cravings I have been having since my retreat weekend. I think I managed that pretty well.

And now I am off to look at high-fat recipes!

It helped for the day I did it, and the next day. Then I skimped on fat and ended up having sugar. Shoot. I am just in a real funk, and having a hard time getting out of it.

Add me to the list in funk-town, which is much different than funkytown.

Once again, I wonder if it's the change in seasons. I don't know. I just wish it would go away and we could feel great all the time!

No WONDER my pants are tight!

Okay, Practice Maintenance is OVER! I am back on ADF. I weighed myself this morning, and was shocked by the number. I don't even want to say it yet. I will call it X for a while, until I am down a bit.

It is good that I had a maintenance break, though. I learned things, and hopefully next time, I will do better.

Today will be a water fast. Honey is joining me.

Thanks, Marika and Carol. It is good to have encouragement. JUDDD IS great. It feels so different starting up this round of weight loss, not HOPING to lose weight, but KNOWING I will. I like it.

I had a water-only Down Day to start myself off, and am at X-4.5lbs this morning. Yay for Down Day jumps!

I am going to eat only 'good stuff' to start myself off. I know that a large part of X is bloat from too many grains and sugars. Eliminate those things which cause me trouble, and I should be back to dealing with just fat, not bloat.

So, this morning I had a good breakfast of zucchini salad and bacon, avocado, and tomato rolled up in lettuce.

After walking the dogs, I had a refreshing green smoothie with zucchini, cucumber, watermelon, beet greens, and two dates.

Plans for the rest of the day include pork chops and various vegetables and some fruit.
