I have been wanting to start one for awhile, and so I figured why not today, while the baby is asleep?

I have been on strict Atkins induction for about three months now. And by strict I'm talking 5-10 carbs a day, sometimes less. Now that I am pushing 40, the pounds do not come off like they did when I tried this WOE in my late 20's. I lost so much so fast and even had a "cheat Saturday" every weekend where I ate basically every sinful thing I had missed all week. I don't dare even take a bite of anything off plan now, but am still losing slowly. I average a pound a week.

I wanted to record those struggles here, so maybe I can help anyone going through the same.

In December, I weighed my highest, 208. I had a baby, lost the weight, and got to comfortable and put it back on and more. Now I have lost it again, but would like to take it further. I'm not sure how much, I'll know when I like the way I look in clothes. Right now, I weigh 188.6. Every little pound has been a battle. It takes me around 6 days to drop a pound.

I want to list my menus and also weigh in daily in this journal. Here are my weigh in's thus far:

Today's menu:

B: Three eggs fried in Bacon grease
L: Egg drop soup with *Grilled cheese sandwich
D: Pork chop

My DH made up a crust to fry my grilled cheese in, out of cauliflower, egg, and shredded mozzarella cheese (mix, fry, then bake, then use as you would bread to make grilled cheese on the stove) It really wasn't bad! Better then the nasty flax bread I made from a recipe floating around the recipe forums here. That crud was pretty disgusting!

I wasn't even craving grilled cheese until he made him and the baby some, and then put it right in my face and it smelled soooo good (we put garlic salt on it) and looked even better. I told him he was mean, and so I think he went and concocted my grilled cauliflower bread out of guilt...lol

Meanwhile, I am off to look for a VERY low carb cake recipe that is edible for my up and coming 39th Birthday this month. I am determined to still have cake AND eat it to, while staying on plan :)

So I've been sick with the flu. Very sick. As a result, I have lost a lot of unexpected weight. I am now where I had planned to be at by the end of April. Too bad I feel like crap.

Other then my being ill, I have come to the point in this woe that I don't eat very much. I stay full all day and eat four small snacks with one of them around lunch being my bigger meal. I'm drinking a lot of bullet proof hot tea with CO and this is helping me get in my fats and stay full as well. I'm getting very close to my goal of 175, but I think I will set another when I get there, depending on how my body feels/looks. I'm thinking I may shoot for 165-ish. Anyway, here are my recent stats:

I have been really sick with the flu. I got down to 182 from being unable to eat, but as soon as I ate again, most of it came back, which is what I expected. It's never a good way to lose, starvation, that is. Also Easter struck me hard, and like a dumby, I went off plan for the first time in three months, and now I am not in ketosis and back at square one, having sugar withdrawals and feeling puky....why do I never learn? These stupid cravings -I am always hungry, and this is all my fault.

But I am back on plan day two, and I am just happy I was able to get back on track before I gained all my 20 lbs back! I would have died!!! Also, I've been adding cardio to speed things up. Hopefully some of this weight is false, and will come off quicker.
