Lize636's LC Journey

3/5/13 -started low carbing yesterday and I made it through the day without any hiccups - its actually a good thing that I even made it through the day!! I have tried to start this diet again so many times I never seem to make it past the first day!!! I know it works I have been successful with it in the past. I lost 75lbs in a little over a year. 3 years later and I have gained every pound back!!

I'm not the same me I used to be when I was smaller. I am never comfortable with myself and I dont even enjoy going out in public anymore. I want to get back to my care free self and enjoying the moment instead of worrying about who is looking at me thinking I am fat!!! I want to feel normal again!!

So I am going to take it one day at a time..... I used to weigh every day and that worked well but also tended to drag me down. So for now I will weigh myself on Fridays.

Plan
20 net carbs or less a day, only eating whats on the Phase 1 approved list for the first month.

I just downloaded the new Atkins app it allows you to track your carbs and your progress!!!

And so it begins!!

first weigh in: 225.2

To answer your JUDDD numbers question, if you google johnson up day down day diet there is a calculator on his site and it tells you the cals...I am great at hitting my down days....I am scared to death of my up days...when i did low carb before and lost over 90 pds i had to keep my cals low, so that number is scary,,,but I have read and been told for it to work, i must eat close to that number..i am really trying....if after 2 weeks i dont see good results i may go back to low carb and low cal....sigh

I am with you, its so hard to see things cal so high!! Stick it out and see what happens for you.

This weekend went well stayed on plan

I promised my self I wouldn't weigh daily this time but I couldn't stay off the scale this weekend **sigh*** and no change in weight has me worried but I got a few girl things going on so I'm gonna blame it on that and stay off the scale until Friday!!

Catching up from the weekend

Friday night was nothing exciting had a TV dinner, spent the evening shopping because we had family pictures on Sat.

Sat Total Carbs: 30
B-sausage egg and cheese
L- Bacon Ranch salad from Mc D's (I was totally shocked by the number of carbs in the ranch dressing 9 )
D- Chicken tender strips cooked in EVOO and zucchini

Sun Total Carbs: ???? (I didn't figure out the carbs for the stuffed peppers)
B-sausage
L- TV dinner Sausage primavera (sp)
D- stuffed red peppers (I wasn't so happy with the way they turned out)
I used cauliflower instead of rice, ground beef, cheese, tomato sauce...next time I think I will just use ground sausage, tomato sauce and cheese and boil the cauliflower if I want to add it (was still a little harder then I would of liked)

Sounds like you had a nice but busy weekend

Speaking of pics I love your family avi pic,,,,beautiful

I am dancing with joy, after my first week I am down 7 pds...I will take it...I hope the weight keeps coming downnnnnnnnnn

The squash was pretty good..cant say I LOVED it, but i will finish it off....I baked it for an hr so it was nice and done....after I scraped it out, I added spray butter, no salt seasoning...garlic and pepper mixture and then some parm cheese out of the can...it did its job for a down day with some salmon

Today is an UD and we ran to McDonalds before work..it is book fair week, so Ray came in to help me get it set up.....It was a great breakfast for not many cals...I am so not going to stress TOO MUCH about carbs at this point..I need to run to the bank for change for the fair, so think I will get subway while I am out...Then he said something about burget king for dinner since he needs to sleep and work...sounds good to me as long as I add up m y cals first.....I have all those place researched and written down

I do love date night and am spoiled in that way...of course our kids are all older ( mine is 16) and his is ( 18 and 10), so we dont have to worry about a sitter....both of his kids also live with their mom and me and my ex husband split our son...they are all so busy with school, work etc its mainly Ray and I..our siutaion is weird and I can explain later in pm

Your doing great....I know that water junk and everything with TOM makes you show gain, so no worries...so glad i am done with all that...now i have much different side effects that are horrible lol

Have a wonderful week...Keep up the great work..<3

If you like cheese, that Kerrygold cheese i found at aldis that everyone raves about was good...it was a bit pricey but worth it and since it is for a limited time, I only got 1 of each kind and will go get 1 more for the freezer...One of the flavors we LOVED the other we LIKED..but yum, I LOVE cheese

Thanks about the picture I really like it as well and have a new one to upload soon

7lbs in one week!!! Good for you!! If mine keeps going this slow I may be moving over to JUDD!!!

I will give the squash a try it sounds so yummy the way you made it... I didn't add a thing when I had it.

My kids are 6 and almost 4..... but before I know it they will be grown I try to enjoy this time now bc before long they wont want to spend time with me. They grow too fast, it seems like yesterday they were babies.

TMI - I dont normally have a period because of the birth control I am on, it comes once an a while and this time it hit me hard!! So I hope to see it go away and take its nasty side effects with it!!

Here's hoping for another 7lbs for you this week!!

Checking in to cheer you on

Salads from fast food places (any restaurant, really) can be surprisingly carby. It always feels like such a healthy choice to order a salad, but sometimes we're better off eating a bunless burger. Sad but true.

Never mind slow losses. It's cliche, I know, but slow and steady wins the race. This goes double for those weeks were hormones wreak their havoc.

I am feeling really sleepy today got woken up at 3:30am with a phone call that my father in law was being taken to the hospital with a possible heart attack and then I couldn't sleep, once I got the call that he was fine and it was a false alarm I dozed back off for about 30 mins and that was a bad idea...... I am running on SLOW and SLEEPY today!!

Weighed in this morning to mark 2 week exactly down 10lbs!! 215.4

Not a whole lot going on here food wise. I did have some baked tilapia it was good. I am not a fish person and I really liked it.

Sat we got a new dog.... I am so in love with him!! He is a 2 1/2 year old Dachshund Lab mix. He looks like a mini chocolate lab to me. Very sweet and trained well!! The kids love him already!

3-19-13

I have to admit I have been weighing in every day on the weekend....... It took a lot to walk away from the scale this morning. I am going to try to wait it out until Friday like planned.

Dinner last night was chicken wings with ranch and buffalo sauce!! Yummm crispy and delicious.

I am not doing much exercise right now.... I told myself I needed to first make eating right a habit then I will add in the exercise. Maybe after a month of eating I will add in the workout.
