I am finishing out the month on a down day. I did really good today, I only had about 200 calories. I think the key to my success is going to be controlling my down day calories. I am going to do this once and for all so that I can move on to more important goals in my life. I am so tierd of thinking about my weight.

I'm determined to have a good day today but it's not even noon yet and all I can think about is food! I'm going to just have to keep busy to get my mind off of food. I know I can't be as hungry as I think I am. I am going to drink a big glass of lemon water and see if that helps.

The lemon water seemed to help a bit. If one is good then 2 is better, right? I am probably going to drink a gallon of water today.

In addition to water, I found peppermint tea and broth to help as well.

Thanks for the tip Marika, I'll try that.
Today was an up day. I am finding it hard to not pig out on my up days. I will try only eating my meals on up days and planning them well.
If I start grazing I can eat mass quantities without even realizing it. For me the difference between success and failure is just a couple hundred calories.

3/1 UD 1600 calories (oops)
3/2 DD 500 (not good)
3/3/ UD 1600 (again)

Wow, I really need to focus on hitting my numbers better.
295=DD and 1485=UD

Dr J, recommends in his book to start with 500 DD for the first 2 weeks and from there you can adjust. I have been on JUDD for 3 months and still playing with the numbers.
If my DD are too low, I tend to go overboard on UD (usually during PMS).

Today was a good DD. I only had about 300 calories. I'm not too hungry. The day is almost over. YAY!!

Woke up this morning and my weight is down to 123. I probably shouldn't get too excited but I can't help it. I also ordered some pterostylbene today. Hopefully that will help with hunger on the down days.

I'm having some hunger issues today so I think I will do 500 calories even though it is a DD.

I am going to do the potatoe hack thing starting tomorrow. I will try to stay with my calorie routine but I'm not really going to stress that much if I can't. We shall see if I can do a 4 day hack.

Thanks Marika! This sure is a challenge.I can't tell you how many times I pass by the fridge and the pantry in a day and just look at the food. Sometimes it is just out of habit, I'm not even really that hungry. I need to make new habits. It really does help coming here and hearing everyone else talk about having the same type of issues and seeing how they deal with them.

Yes, it will get better with time. ITA, it really helps to have support. JUDD forum is great!
Good luck with pterostylbene. I have never tried it and I am curious how it works out for you.

I just got my pterostilbene today. We shall see what happens! I also decided to start the potato hack again. I started yesterday on 3/10. I had horrific gas again. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I am peeling the potatoes to see if that helps with the gas. I am also going to try and maintain the up down pattern with this hack. If the pterostilbene works maybe I can have a zero calorie down day.

I tried for a perfect down day yesterday but still ended up with 261 calories, but the good news is I dropped 2 pounds!!!!!! Yesterday was my 3rd potato day in a row and I am convinced that this potato hack works!!! I know I can keep going, at least for a few more days. I hope it stays gone. I am really excited about this!
I know that the support I am getting from this forum is equally responsible for my success. Thanks everyone!!!!!! I finally believe I can do this!!!

My weight went back up yesterday, as expected. On the 14th I had my best down day yet. I really think the pterostilbene is helping. I still want to eat on my down days but I don't have to eat. It's kind of the same effect the nicotine patches had on me when I quit smoking. It still requires will power, but it makes it a lot less painful. After a good down day yesterday I am back to 122.

I wasn't able to do a potato day today. Life got in the way. But I still stayed real close to my calorie limit so I'm not too stressed about it. After a down day tomorrow I will go for it again on Sunday.

I'm going to try doing the potato hack for the rest of the month. I'm still going to try to maintain my UD and DD somewhat but if I need to eat more on DDs and I can't quite make my UDs calories I'm not going to stress about it.
That gives me a full 14 days to see what will happen to my body. I think that's a fair test to know if this is for me or not.
