WOE: Low carb
Start Date: Every morning
Planned menu:
coffee w/stevia, cream and HWC 3
2 eggs cooked in butter, 3 bacons 0
salad, rotissere chicken, hot sauce 4
Atkins bar 3
salad, grilled chicken (eating out after church) 6
fight the urge to eat cake at party later total if I don't eat cake: 16 carbs

And let me just say, I feel so good after having worked out and eaten. I do not want this woe to be a grudgery. I want to enjoy the life I lead while making choices that are good for me. LC and working out are good for me. I need to figure out a way to make them work together while losing weight.

My morning coffee had gotten to be a chore cause I knew I wouldn't enjoy it without artificial sweetner. I felt like it was making me crave, so I cut that out. Well, since I'm eating LC, the cravings should subside now. I won't know unless I try it. So, my 3rd cup had stevia in it. I also worked out, so I can feel some hunger creeping up. I just need to remember to eat LC foods/snacks and I should be fine.

When you average out your month, you're losing a pound a week! This is healthy and this is great! At the beginning, you kind of hovered in the 180/181 range, right? So you're kind of hovering now. I really see a whoosh in your future!!!

Awww, Heidi, thanks so much for that. I just was hoping it would be way more by now, but. this is my LC way and this is how it's working. At least, it's moving, right?

Well, I did have a little ice cream and cake. The rest of my food today went as planned. I'm not even sorry I had it. Back on my lc woe tomorrow which includes working out.

178.4 again. But, I've not had a bm yet. And I got to bed at 12. Back up at 5:30. I had a food hangover this morning. But, still don't regret indulging a little. My boxing workout was awsome this morning. And i plan to walk a few miles on the dreadmill after dinner. Not, running, just a walk.

I'm determined to make LC and exercise work top my good.

and Heidi, I feel a whoosh coming soon also.

Food today:
coffee, black
b. 2 eggs, sausage scrabbled in CO (3)
s. Atkins bar (3), coffee with stevia and HWC (2)
l. salad, dressing, rotissere chicken (7)
s. atkins bar (3)
d. LC lasagna, veggie. (6)

If I were following WWers, this is an on Point food day especially since I worked out and still only 24 carbs

Jinny!!!!!

Definitely, especially because you amped up your metabolism with a small bit of cake and Ice cream and no gain. It works for me and keeps me going strong.

Mar 17....... Guess what? 178.4
Mar 18 ...... 178.4 again
mar 19 ..... 177.6 Gettn better

My am workout today was a short total body toning dvd. I burned around 200 calories. I didnt get on dreadmill last night cause I just ran out of time. But, that won't happen today! I'm getting on that thing as soon as I get home. Ive got my scheduled lined up til 8pm.

I had decaf coffee last night with hwc and stevia and I was starving when I went to bed. I know the stevia amped up my hunger. I won't be having any tonight. and I had the hangover this morning too. I really miss sweetner, but it really does raise my hunger pains. I will keep trying to fit it in. I love my coffee with some sweetner. But I don't want unnecessary hunger pains either.

Im sure I won't make my end of the month goal, but i sure am going to try. I kept playing around with different info I found on this board and only a little bit of it worked for me. So, I am amping my workouts back up and see if I can keep having progress with it along with low carb and medium fat. I know I'm averaging 1 lb a week, but I want more. So, we will see what happens.

Today's food plan:
coffee, black
b. eggs, pork sausage in butter
s. Atkins bar
l. salad, dressing, 2 hamburgers
s. Atkins bar
d. LC lasanga, broc

Just stopping in to cheer you on!! You are doing great I actually laughed out loud while reading your journals. You have a great team here cheering you on.....Thought of some pointers to help you through your stalls I noticed that I loose better between 25 - 30 carbs a day. If your stall continues increase your carb a little at a time and see if you begin to lose again. I also try to stick to induction foods. I love nuts and fruits and I tend to over indulge. Hope this helps. I know for me weighing everyday when I lost last time was one of my down falls... It caused me to get so discouraged... This go round I am trying to stick to once a week. Sometimes I slip up an weigh but I am trying!!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks, Liz. I've been weighing myself daily for years. I don't know if I can stop. But I will try.

Thanks for the tips about carb count. i thought I would do that. But, I don't think I'll make it today. Do you post your menu in your journal? The only nuts i eat right now are wrapped around my Atkins bars. and I havent had fruit in over a month because it makes me crave. I might have to really up carbs because of the exercing. I will play it by ear.

I'm still not sure how I managed to start drinking my coffee without sweetener... But I did! I can't imagine going back to sweet coffee now.
Congrats on your loss.

I really had to talk myself through the 3 mile walk yesterday evening. And it worked. I have to get and stay serious with this weight issue. And the reason I'm now so determined to loose this weight is that I'm tired of my boobs and belly being so big. I'm sick of it. I tell myself:

1. I have good health
2. DH is not complaining
3. The weight is not keeping me from doing anything
4. Im a pretty person
5. It just doesnt matter

But, you know what !?!?!?!

1. I could have better health and flexibility
2. DH aint complaining, but I am
3. I want to be a runner without my boobs being so heavy and so distracting
4. It's not about being pretty, its about so many other things
5. It does matter to me.

I need to be honest with myself all the time. I need to do those things that will get me to "MY" goal. I do so much for others and I love it, and I say I don't matter, I'm so easy going, it'll be alright. And all thats true, but I still need to help myself get to my goal - a place where I am comfortable in my own skin. I do not want to take this weight into my 2nd 50 years. And, I am not !!!!!

So, I was saying these things to myself while on the treadmill watching Biggest Loser on my computer. And it helped me do it. I will try to keep my am workouts going while I add 3 evenings on the treadmill as well. I just have to give up that hour in front of the tv on Mon, Tues, Thur and Fri. Just 3 of those nights will help.

Weight today is 177.6. I ate late. I will besure to eat early on Treadmill evenings or do whatever I have to do to not eat after 6:15. I also ate some pecans which I should have chose another LC snack. But, this morning, I could tell my belly is shrinking today.

I worked out this morning, altho I was very tired and a little achy. The kickboxing from Monday was still lingering in the form of soreness in my back. The glutes were sore from the treadmill last night. But, I pressed my way through it until I couldnt take it any more. I pretended Jillian was in my ear, while my eyes were fixed on Dolvet. Mmmm, Im cracking myself up here. I did burn 429 calories in 33 min.

coffee with HWC
Atkins bar, another coffee - 7
salad with cheese, 3 chicken legs cooked in butter 6
Atkins bar or porkrinds 0 -3
double hamburger with all the fixings except bread 5

Total carbs = 19 - 21

The atkins bars help with Bowel movements, and they're sweet. I will have at least one a day. Unless I begin thinking they're stalling me.

Today's weight: 177.8

What I'm doing is not working. Ive got to knuckle down.

Im seriously thinking I will start tomorrow with VLC and give up caffeine and all artificial sweetners - this includes my generic crystal light pack that I have with 30 ounces of water every day with lunch. This one will hurt. I may have some decaf with HWC to trick my mind.

I will keep working out 6 days a week minus the 5 day trip next week.

Ive got to be strong for the naysayers. I pray I don't punch someone in the nose.

Hitting Walmart after work to stock up on meat and eggs for tomorrow. Then Saturday I'll hit Sams Club for a serious meat stock up.

If you have any ideas or a way to transport meat and snacks that might help me, bring em on! Im ready.

Last night, I only had the salmon, no veggie. The salmon coating had sugar in it. I will replace it with splenda next time. I also had some smooth move tea to help have a bm before I weighed. I had one last night after I drank it. so I definitely push the water today to make sure I'm hydrated.

Menu: decaf coffee, hwc
b. 2 boiled eggs, bacon
s. cheese, reg coffee, hwc, 1 splenda Taking some HWC to work in a small bowl with a good lid
l. 6 wings, porkrinds if needed
s. tuna, egg, mayo
d. salmon only. ( magnesium before bed)

All this is no more than 3 carbs (1 for splenda and really 1 for sugar in salmon coated)

am workout: upper body weights - (chest, back, biceps) 37 min, burned 283 calories
pm workout: treadmill - 3 miles

Wow, I ate tuna with egg and may, a cheese stick and 6-7 chicken wings cooked in butter. I didnt have my crystal light flavored water. I think I'll have that other half decaf half caf coffee with HWC now.

I ate some porkrinds on the way home from work, walked 60 on dreadmill (3.5 miles and 600 calories burned), then ate salmon and a cheese stick followed by decaf. I'm feeling good and heading to bed after the magnesium.

And when Im off, everything's off. I've worked out the past 7 days. time for a break. not only did I workout yesterday, I was very busy moving someone up and down stairs. Thank God not sore today.
