Finding my weigh 2013
 
Well, I decided to start this journal to write down my thoughts and possibly pick up some accountability partners along the way.:shake:

I don't really think my story is all that different than many others. The weight started creeping on, and I kept saying I'll start a diet Monday. Most of the time Monday came with excuses to wait until the next Monday, but there were a few times that I actually started. I did stints on low cal and WW. Yes, I lost, but I just couldn't make it a permanent way of living and regained. Still looking for that permanent solution.

I saw a holiday picture that motivated me to start trying to figure out a way to get rid of the extra weight... and long term. I settled on Atkins and started on 1/20/13. Three weeks later I am down 11.6 pounds. I am thrilled with the results, have enjoyed the food, and I haven't felt deprived. So, why am I know changing the game plan?

My issue with Atkins is really the same issue I have had with past diet attempts. When I have to track (whether it be calories, fat, or carbs), I become food obsessed. I feel like my whole day revolves around food. Rather than my life being enhanced by my diet, my life is controlled by it. I start to hate the diet more than than I like the results. :(

That attitude (whiney though it may sound) is what led me to the JUDDD board. I am going to try one month of no counting at all. DDs will be water, tea, or broth. UDs will be eating to satisfaction but continuing to keep sugar, flour, white potatoes, and white rice out of my diet.

I am hoping this will alleviate the obsession, since I won't have to count and log everything that goes in my mouth. I don't know if it will alleviate the weight. We shall see.:aprayer:

I had 3 DDs this week. They werenít as hard as I thought they might be, and I did enjoy not having to count. The good news is I wasn't as obsessed with food. :up: The bad news is the scale didnít move. :down: I sure would have liked to see a loss, but Iím okay with having not gained during the transition. I will be more concerned if I donít see progress next week.
