Lori's LC Life

Upon posting my 40 lb weight loss success and frankly being humbled by the responses, I have decided to start a blog to post weights and menus and just daily life comments.

Here is a link to my 40 pound loss post: 40 LBS in less than 4 Months!!!

Today I am down to 176.6 and by this time next year I hope to be to goal (128.2 or beyond) and an avid runner.

1-29-13 menu

B: Coffee w/ 2 T HWC, 2 T Toroni SF Vanilla Syrup, 1 packet Splenda, 1 T Coconut oil
L: Subway BMT w/oil, vinegar, lettuce, banana peppers, & cucumbers, double cheese (American and Provolone). Order it on flatbread, but only ate the insides.
S: 1 oz salted dry roasted peanuts & 1 6 oz container of Kroger CarbMaster yogurt
D: 5 oz pork roast w 1 T Jim Beam Original Barbeque sauce, 1 Kroger Kosher dill pickle spear
S: 2 8 oz cups dt dr pepper w/ 1.5 oz ea shot of spiced rum

10 8 oz glasses of water

This resulted in a nice drop today!

I must say the day was a struggle. I was taking my son to the doctor and trying to get pharmacies to fill a prescription no one seemed to have on hand. I was struggling in the afternoon due to lack of eating in the morning. That is probably why I broke down and had the peanuts and yogurt. But at least they were low carb alternatives! I am very thankful I have them in my house for the "rough times".

Cindy, you have been doing a great job. Hanging in there and sticking with it! I hope you find what works for you. I truly think that is the key. I love doing little experiments to see how things will work. Last week I did a strawberry shake experiment.

Strawberry shake:
2 servings frozen strawberries
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup water
4 T Splenda

Very very nice. I had this a couple of times and it did not stall my weight loss, I am considering experimenting with this again in a couple of weeks with some SF syrup. I am waiting until I get back next week though from VEGAS!

well I will try the JUDDD for a few weeks and see if that works
and if it doesn't I will try something else

I can't believe I "stalled" already only 6 weeks after starting LC and thats depressing but I WONT give up

I am going to Mexico the first week in April ...I wanted to be 50 lbs gone by then but that is not going to happen now so I would be happy if I was down 30

Jan 28: 176.4
Jan 29: 174.6
Jan 30: 173.8
Jan 31: 173.8

This month's accomplishments:
1. I have exceeded my weight loss challenge goal!
2. I have gotten into a good routine of working out 3-4 days a week.

February goals:
1. Get back into a good habit of taking my vitamins and supplements daily.
2. Increase my workouts to a solid 4 days a week.
3. 8 more pounds lost (February Goal=165)

BTW, I'm headed to Phoenix and Vegas Saturday through Tuesday to spend some alone time with my DH! I am very excited to be doing it 45 pounds lighter!

I went to the thrift store this week and last week and picked up some "new" clothes. I have lost another size and am just overwhelmed with the great things that LC and renewing my running is doing for me! I'm so excited for what seems like a new life!

Part of all the excitement is that my DH is eating LC now too. He has almost caught up if not surpassed me in weight loss, but I knew he would (It seems so much easier for guys). Also, we have not seen each other in two weeks because he is travelling for work. In case you didn't notice I'm a little excited!

L: Tuna (4 oz) w/2 T mayo (MW), 3 T salsa/3 T sour cream, 1/2 oz pork rinds
S: 1 1/2 oz salted dry roasted peanuts
D: 5 oz pork roast w 1 T Jim Beam Original Barbeque sauce, 1 Kroger Kosher dill pickle spear
S: 1 8 oz cups dt dr pepper w/ 1.5 oz ea shot of spiced rum
S: 3 different types of cheese, 4 slices summer sausage

I ws doing some cheese tasting last night to see if other types of cheeses appealled to me.

10 8 oz glasses of water

Gruyere - no thank you, not for me
Irish Cheddar - ok, tastes a lot like the cheddar used on white cheddar popcorn
Pepper Lime Gouda - YUM! This was great and will probably be even better on a nice hot burger with a little mustard and onions. Last night I just had it with a slice of summer sausage.

(logging my workouts for January)
1/3: 1.8 miles, 29.5 min, 273 cals (C25K, W3D1)
1/5: 2.026 miles, 32 min, 300 cals (C25K, W3D2)
1/7: 2.005 miles, 31 min, 301 cals (C25K, W3D3)
1/9: 2.1 miles, 31:15 min, 330 cals (C25K, W4D1)
1/12: 2.1 miles, 32:15 min, 326 cals (C25K, W4D2)
1/14: 2.0 miles, 32:45 min, 327 cals (C25K, W4D3) Week 4 DONE!
1/16: 2.0 miles, 31:23 min, 309 cals (C25K, W5D1)
1/18: 2.1 miles
1/22: 2.1 miles (W5D3) Week 5 done.
1/24: 2.3 miles (W6D1) going great!
1/24: 2.2 miles (W6D2)
1/28: 2.3 miles (W6D3, sort of...I think I'm going to repeat week 6 just to build my confidence.)

Other issues last night:
Scheduled for a run last night, but was feeling horrible. Sore throat, legs all achy, the works. So, I just laid around and decided to make sure I was taking my supplements, because I've been neglecting those lately. Took my multivitamin and some magnesium and went to bed early.

Decided to add magnesium to my plan because I was reading yesterday where it helps with leg pain and also sleeping.

I'm actually beginning to think my leg pain is because I'm trying to get the flu. This is reinforces my resolve to stay on plan, because when I am eating LC my body is like a super machine and I usually only get mildly sick when others are doubled over or bed ridden.

I have to say I am in shock at the success I have had in this journey. I attempted to start this WOE so many times in the last 2-3 years and was unsuccessful or sidetracked after just a few weeks. It is incredible how fantastic I feel, even though I am sick today.

It's amazing to be sick and yet have tons of energy.

Also, this weekend I got into a size 14. 14!!! from 22 (tight) to 14 in 4 1/2 months! Why would I ever want to do anything differently?

Now for last night's dinner story:

Ok, I had to run quite a few errands yesterday and I called my 15 year old son and asked if he could make and put the sausage balls in the oven. He says sure and I proceed to give him all the ingredients and measurements, told him the sausage was in the refrigerator. A litter later as I am running around he calls and asks me how many this recipe is supposed to make. Well, when I made them last week I made about two dozen. I hear this worried/disappointed, "Oh." from the other end of the line. So I ask, "Why? How many did you make?" To my shock his reply is 6. I begin to consider this all, because I gave him more sausage than I had used last week. So, I just told him to cover the finished product with a cloth until I got home and I would decide what to do.

So, when I got home I looked at these "sausage balls" and I say, didn't you put the sausage in them? He says, "Sausage wasn't one of the ingredients that you gave me." I said, "I told you the sausage was in the refrigerator." He said, "I know but it wasn't on your list and I thought since you were on a diet, these were just balls that would taste like sausge, but not actually have the sausage in them." Needless to say, I now have a pretty good recipe for Almond Cheddar Biscuits!

Almond Cheddar Biscuits (makes 6)

1/2 cup almond flour
1/2 cup shredded cheddar
1 egg
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp mrs dash tomato basil garlic powder

bake at 350 for 20 minutes (probably less these were a little overdone )

Great day yesterday. Ate on plan all day and ran yesterday evening as the sun was setting!

Woke up this morning down 2 pounds from yesterday's disappointing 169.8.

It looks like all of you are on a roll in terms of weight loss and exercise!

LORIAs-Jillian Michaels DVD is no joke! I do enjoy her DVD's. I do have a question about how long do you guys are just eating Meat and eggs? I don't know if I should give it a couple of weeks or months, or just a few days each week? I saw a recipe for a VLC pizza that has caught my interest. It is one of the things I miss the most!
It just depends on what I have planned or what I have in stock at the house. Sometime I go weeks without any carbs (only meat & eggs). But sometimes I have veggies all week (usually because I have made a large salad and it is portioned out for several days.)

Naturally though, on a regular basis I eat bacon and eggs for breakfast, tuna or wings for lunch, and some form of meat for dinner (pork or beef roast, taco meat, steak)

This weekend I grilled some asparagus with butter, and I made a broccoli cauliflower salad, so I had these once a day.

In addition when I get a "sweet tooth" I have heavy cream, SF syrup, and sweetener whipped until stiff like mousse.

Also, I try to never eat or drink after 6:30 in the evening. I find that if I do, I normally do not do as well on the scale or overall.

Pretty good day yesterday. I knew as I was eating my salty/spicy taco soup last night that I would be up a bit today. Glad it wasn't too much, because that soup was GOOOOOD!

I also made a pork roast to DIE FOR Wednesday night. I'm assuming everyone else in the house like it too, because I can't even find any leftovers!

Ran yesterday afternoon in the beautiful sunshine! 3.15 miles - this is my furthest yet - so excited!

All in All a great LC weekend! Finished the C25K yesterday with W8D3!!!! I'm planning to continue to run every other day until my 5K I'm signed up for on 5/25!! Then I'm considering a 10K.

Starting the week at 168.4. I'm not sure what that is all about, but I did indulge in peanuts, LC ice cream and spirits this weekend.

Didn't run again yesterday, but not beating myself up a bout it. TOM came yesterday and it was a bad day, emotionally overwhelming (probably those stinking hormones).

Anyway today's weight down a pounds to 167.0.

Plan is to run tonight after work and before dinner and DS(17) summer camp meeting.

Ran 3.5 miles this weekend. Need to run again tonight.
