JUDD Experiment
 
today is day one of my Judd experiment. I have done Atkins for the past two weeks and got my holidays binges almost gone. starte 1-2-13 at 192 and today 1-15-13 I weighed 184.2. I call 8 lbs. in two weeks a great success and I am very happy with that and with the whole low carb way.

So why change it up when I am doing so well? Two reasons.....I have a refrigerator full of fruit that needs to be eaten. I love fruit. I don't miss bread on Atkins, or pasta.....but man, do I miss my oranges, grapefruit, apples and bananas. I also miss juicings. I am going to juice everyday on my UP days. The second reason I am going to switch it up is because I have read that this diet switches on some heathy gene that makes asthma and arthritis better. I am waiting for the book to come in the mail so I can read everything that there is, in the meantime there is so much info on this board, and so many helpful people.

My plan is to record what I eat everyday and my peak flow number.....
So here goes......150 PF. That is not good! I need to be at least 250 to be in my healthy range....time to ramp up the exercise also. Will record that here too.

Protein shake

Veggie soup

About 450 calories.......

I'll be so interested to see what your asthma results are! I don't have it, but do have allergies and I feel like they're so much better on JUDDD!

Made it through the first dd. I was a little hungry in the afternoon but not bad. Got crabby in the evening and had a hard time sleeping. I hope this gets easier. On the upside, wow, was my oatmeal with apples, flax and protein powder yummy this morning!!!!

My first UP was kinda a bust. I ate more then my allotted calories. I know my problem and plan to fix it. I felt over confident that I wouldn't eat more then 2000 cal. So I didn't plan my meals. Well, I planned my breakfast, because I was really looking forward to it, but the rest of the day was on a wing and a prayer. I did fine until my grand daughter asked for ice cream. I sought I can have a small bowl.....nope.....not without eating the house after. Lesson learned. Not going to kick myself, going to learn and do better next time.

Same as last down day food wise. I have no problem eating the same thing over and over. In fact, I like it. Or, maybe it is because I don't like having to think about it. Anyway....

Eggs, tuna, veggie soup sums it up...

Second down day in the books. Not as bad as the first. Still hungry but not as bad. Going to work harder on doing better today on my UD. Reading the book by Dr. Johnson this morning. Very interesting studies. I hope he is right about the asthma and arthritis getting better.

Feeling thinner....

Better ud yesterday. Ate healthy, no kisses or m&ms. I have been reading the book. I really don't have to try and get in all 2000 calories....funny, but last night I was hungry, even after all the food I ate. Wonder if it is all the extra carbs, even if they were healthy carbs?

survived my third DD yesterday. Ate the same as the other two days. I am hungry when I go to bed, but not a horrible gnawing hungry, just a little empty feeling in the belly. It is my saving grace to know that I will have a steaming bowl of oatmeal with apples and cinnamon the next morning.

I can't wait till Tuesday to have my first week weigh in. It has been hard to stay off the scale. I am used to weighing everyday, so staying off has been a big challenge. I do think that staying off has been a help though. It is making me work hard to see a big number Tuesday. I am hoping for. Three pound weight loss. We shall see.

Today is UP.
Breakfast......bowl of old fashion oats, chopped apples, cinnamon,flax and protein powder

Doing good. The good peeps on this board are right, it does get easier. Can't wait to step on the scale tomorrow. Are the same as all my DDs except added pickle to the tuna.

Forgot to check my PF, asthma isn't getting better yet, woke last night short of breath.

11 pounds gone in 20 days
 
:clap:I couldn't wait to get and weigh this morning. One week done on JUDD. I lost three lbs. my first thought was disappointment, but second thought is happiness. In twenty days I have lost 11 pounds. That is amazing. I usually lose a few, go offline, gain a fewq, loss the same pounds over and over.

My big hurtle will be in the next few weeks. For some reason I hit 180 and quit. It has been my pattern for years. I am going to push through this time. No, excuse me, I have to get going, I have 2000 calories to eat.

Made it through another DD. it doesn't get any easier for me. I am starving. I am hoping by the end of the week the under hormone kits in and it will get easier. On a bright note, my oatmeal this morning was heaven!

Rats! I read this first, then your recent one that it's not getting easier!! LOL!! I am on my 2nd DD today and not looking forward to it. I need to keep busy. Sigh. I hope to lose at least. Some on the JUDDD plan don't lose much. 1lb a week? That's not going to encourage me. Great losses so far!! KUTGW!! :up:

Hey, I was just having a bad day:). It does get easier, today has been going great. I believe they say after two weeks your SERT1 gene kicks in and the hunger isn't bad. The good thing is that I have discovered hunger isn't some horrible thing. Wait it out and in about 15 minutes is is gone.

you are right, keeping busy is a great help!

I am sure I won't lose weight this week. My dd are perfect, but the last two up days have been way overdone. I must plan my meals better for my UP days or I won't be successful.

Did good on my DD. tomorrow I weigh.....yikkkkes, I don't think it is going to be good. Would be happy at 180, but afraid that is not going to happen.
