My Hairy Weight Loss Journal
Well I feel as if I hold myself accountable on a daily basis, perhaps it will keep me motivated to loose this weight once and for all.
My BFF started this WOE last year with great success, so I have finally gotten in the zone and have decided that this plan Makes the most sense to stick with for the long haul! I started this plan on January 2nd. My weight as of dec 31st was 178lb, I am 35 yo and I am 5'3" tall. My goal is to be 135-130 lb. As of January 9th is 171.5 lbs! I have never had such great success and felt so energized on any other plan! I plan on posting at least every other day, so that On the days I feel uninspired and like giving up, I can look back on these days and find some inspiration. Here is to my healthiest year ever, 2013! ![]() |

Hairy, it looks like you have a great start on you new LC way of life. The awesome drop in weight the first weeks is such a great motivator isn't it? What plan are you following? I am glad you have a good friend who has shown you by example how LC can work. I look forward to seeing your success and your journey.

So excited! Woke up this morning (after completing my 390 DD yesterday) to a 2.5lb weight loss! I am amazed at how fast the weight is dropping and how much energy I have!
I can see why everyone looks forward to DDs. I also look forward to UDs because I can still eat all the foods I love and do not feel restricted for a long period of time. It is definitely encouraging to see the numbers drop the morning after a DD. I have also decided to do the 19 hour fast, start the night of my UD. From reading about intermittent fasting, it seems as though my body will more efficiently burn my fat stores. We will see.... |

Worked out with my trainer today (DD) and I am shocked at how much energy I have. That was at 8:30 and it is now almost 1:30 and I still am not hungry and have tons of energy.
Yesterday was a bit of a UUAAD! I consumed more than 2200 calories. ( I found a bag of Hershey kisses in my pantry.....:-/ Today is a new day and I am staying under the 373 for sure! I really want to be under 160 when we leave for vacation on feb 11th. That's only 2.5 lbs a week, I know I can do it! |

You're doing great HM! What a wonderful start you're off to. I know you can hit your goal if you keep working it (maybe minus the Kisses
)! |

So I had a 372 cal day yesterday. I actually did not get hungry till dinner. I had a fish stick and two servings of cheese. When igot on the scale this morning I was hoping to have lost a lb, but I gained one???
I am sticking to my 1700 cal day today, but still feel a little disapointed. I am going to do potato toes again tomorrow. Hoping that by sticking to those and a protein shake on DDs I will have my success. |

DD
Today is a DD. I actually feel quite good, no hunger.
I even baked cookies with my daughter and wasn't even tempted to try on bit! I hoped on the scale this morning and lost the lb that I gained, even after my UD! I recalculated my calorie allowance and am sticking under 360 today! Goal 1: 159lb by February 11th Goal 2: 155lb by March 15th Goal 3: 150lb by April 15th Goal 4: 145lb by May 21st (my birthday) Goal 5: 140lb by June 20th Goal 6: 135 by July 20th ![]() |

I am trying not to get too discouraged, but had a great DD yesterday and still woke up to 169.5!
I even did a vinyasa yoga flow class in the am and then walked on the treadmill for 30 mins! I am hoping that I am storing water??? ![]() It just does not seem scientifically possible to gain weight while consuming so few calories. My cal intake yesterday was 275 I plan on a 1700-1800 cal day today. I am praying to wake up a few lbs lighter on Tuesday ![]() I am going to try just doing eggs tomorrow. I figure I can have 4-5 |

Hang in there. There are times that the body will just take a pause form losing. You can try to figure it out but I have never been able to. I just know that when I stick to my plan even when I am not losing for a while, that the loss will start again.
You also have to remember that if you are exercising that when you build muscle that it weighs more than fat does. Luckily even if you weigh more muscle is not "fluffy" like fat is and you'll actually look slimmer. So you might be losing fat and building muscle. Have you taken some starting measurements? If not do it now so when the weight loss is not showing up on the scale you can see if you are losing inches.

I am going to stick with it, I have to and I figure it will come off sooner than later. I was hoping to loose another 10 lbs before we go to Florida...but I have to accept that my body is going to decide how fast this process is going to take. Thanks again for the support! ![]() |

My DD went well today.
We went to a friends for dinner and I just ate the salad. It was hard watching everyone eat chicken chili, but I was not hungry, so no use eating it just because it tastes good. There will be other bowls of chili in my future, just need to have them on my up days! ![]() Great DD! Planning to stick with mostly high protein and veggies tomorrow. |

Well what a great UD I have had!
I have found that if I have a protein shake in the morning that it keeps me full longer. Also had just two cups of coffee this morning and none throughout the day and not nearly as bloated feeling. Looking forward to my DD tomorrow. Also back down to 169!.....now just to loose the other 34 lbs! One day at a time |

This has been a good DD so far. I have had 165 cals and plan on a yummy green salad with cottage cheese and eggs!
Did a fantastic Crossfit workout this morning and had plenty of energy. If I get the kids in bed at a reasonable hour, I plan on walking a little too (inside of course because it like -5 here)! ![]() |

Woke up this morning after a great up day and I lost another pound!
Down to 167! Today was a DD. I was very hungry all day, but had a 220 cal salad for dinner around 6:30 and that filled me up and I am still not hungry. We are having friends over tomorrow night for dinner, so I think I will just have salad and a egg for lunch, so I can have a yummy dinner and a couple of beers! ![]() I leave in 15 days for Florida. I am still hoping to be down to 159, but may have to settle for low 160s. With 8lbs to go, I feel that 4 lbs a week may be a little unrealistic... We will see. I may try a 3-4 day potato hack, possibly longer if I see good results. On my up days I will add a protein shake each morning, where I am working out 4-5 days a week. ![]() |

Congrats on getting to 167. I think that 8lbs in two weeks might be a bit optimistic but you sure can try!

My calories were a little above where they should have been (1925) not to bad. I also ran/walked on the treadmill for 30 mins, so I burnt off any excess
![]() ![]() Looking forward to my DD tomorrow. I am going to visit my grandmother and do some knitting...if my 20 month old will cooperate... ![]() Then home for a couple hair clients in the salon. Should be able to stay busy and keep my mind off the pantry! ![]() |

Bacon and avocado are great foods to fill me up. Looks like you are doing really good with the JUDD. Keeping busy on your DDs is a great idea to keep your mind off eating.

Eggs is a great idea. I often do an "egg day" where I have my coffee and cream, and then eggs the rest of the day. Good results with that too!

TOM showed up today
![]() Didn't bother weighing in. I feel a little down today and ready to see a bit of a loss . Hopefully day after tomorrow.I stayed within my cals today. We will have to see. I leave for vacation in a week and most of my clothes from last summer are very snug....was kinda hoping they would fit, as I really don't want to buy any new ones Also I am concerned with being able to stick with the plan. I don't want to back slide. That is so discouraging for me, yet I don't want my family to feel that we can't go out to eat because of me.Hoping to stay the course! |

It is very hard in the beginning. But stick to your plan as much as possible and it will get easier each day. Often when the scale does not move you'll be losing in the form of inches. When you go out try and look at a menu online ahead of time and look at what will be a good LC choice. I have no problem asking for changes like substituting a side salad or veggies for a starch. I always order a burger without a bun. You can always ask the waiter to adjust the food how you want it, you are the customer and most places are happy to make changes. The one place I have a hard time with is chinese food. But you can look for a dish without sauces and ask for extra veggies instad of rice.
Stick to it, it will work! |
