You are a wise one!..

I need to get my myself in the right frame of mind again. All these TREATS are staring at me, and bothering me. I hate the way I feel when I eat them though, so I know better.

All those treats are the devil!!! I've been to a few holiday parties and I'm embarrassed at the amount of food served and ultimately thrown away. It was nearly gluttonous. Both parties from last week started with appetizers (crab cakes, stuffed banana peppers, crusted chicken strips, egg rolls, cheese, veggies, dip), then wedding soup, salad, huge plate of tortellini, basket of bread, and THEN dinner which consisted of filet mignon, potatoes, gnocchi, and veggies. Dessert at one function was baked alaska and at the second was a huge dessert table - triple chocolate cake, cheesecake, carrot cake Seriously, WHO needs that much food??? Oh, and I had drinks! I had some crazy frozen pineapple concoction and beers. STOP THE INSANITY

Actually, sorry for the rant but I bought unsweetened almond milk and Target's whey protein (chocolate) and I can have a nice big chocolate shake for under 200 calories and 7 carbs. I may top it with some whipped cream too. Or a diet root beer float can satisfy my sweet tooth....

I KNOW!! it is CRAZY!!!... I have a party this weekend to go to for my Hubby's work, then Monday is my works Christmas party, and so on and so on! It is such a hard time of the year..

Anyway, we do the best we can do, and get through it! I like the idea of a nice chocolate shake for such low cals. I have used the vanilla with unsweetened almond milk also.. I think chocolate would taste better..

Have a great rest of the day ladies!!..

You'll look smashing at those parties!! Enjoy your success and keep it all in perspective . I am working on that myself. I've avoided social settings, treats and "normal" goodies in social settings and this year? I'm enjoying them! It feels good! Yes, the scale isn't 145, but I'm pretty happy! .

Thanks Julie.. I did have a great time at the weekend party, but wow, that food was soooooooooo good Stuck to the prime rib/ veges/ salad/shrimp scampi, a bite of dessert, but not too bad.

Tomorrow is my work XMas party at a pizza place of all things.. Will do my best. Not going to focus on that and just enjoy my friends...

Glad you are back Julie!! The scale is not the ruler of all our success... although sometimes it likes to torture us.. I am a once a week weigher again, and probably should stay that way.. keep up the great work and happy you enjoyed your VACAY!!!

It's so strange when you're used to daily weighing. The curiosity and control of it gets to me sometimes, but I'm going with it. Hope the party was fun! Working on our perspective on social eating and freedom is a process... I am trying to balance all that out fine that intuition. It's in there somewhere .

Hey Deb! This time of year is challenging to not slip back into old habits but keeping a conscious awareness is still progress. You did well at the party this past weekend.

Conscious awareness is a good way to describe it! Not obsessive, but aware . Like it!

Thanks Shari! I have been eating way too much this week off from work, but am STILL 5 pounds over my LIW. Amazing!! I don't like this feeling of eating too much though. I really want to get myself back to good healthy eating, and I need to do that soon!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas too!! Yes, stop by the journals and lets keep up the support and motivation!
