I did better today, I think, but not much.

I had the ceremonial putting-away of my popcorn popper, as a visual symbol that I'm done with it for now. I usually leave it out, easily accessible, b/c I use it so much, but I'm putting it out of sight. I WILL BEAT THIS.

I have done MUCH better today! Now to keep the momentum going. I switched to using Hood low-carb milk in my coffee, and that will save me a TON of calories. For breakfast I had coffee and an Atkins breakfast bowl (the Tex-Mex scramble). Lunch was tuna w/mayo.

For dinner I'm cooking a pot of sausage soup from Linda Sue's website.

Calories for the day: about 1,650. Soooo much better than earlier this week! Still not quite there yet, but getting there.

The sausage soup came out great.

New diet plan: having an insane crush on somebody and being obsessed with that instead of eating.

Official weigh day: I am down 3 lbs. from last week! Back in the 180's, at 189.8.

See? Crushes are good for the waistline.

Have done very well today. More carbs than usual, but I always give myself Sunday to "cheat" a tiny bit. And I did a 2.5 mile walk, so that helps with the carbs. I feel good today.

I ate some fried chicken the other day and saw my blood sugar go up to 150, which is a number I haven't seen since a few months after dx. Yikes. But I got right back on the wagon at the next meal, and am doing fine. Weight still the same this morning.

I've gotten much better at mitigating any "bad" meals. The old me would have said, "Well, you've blown it, might as well keep eating." But I rarely do that anymore. I'm able to see the bad choice for what it is and get back on track right away.

Just one more of the many positive things LC has done for me.

6/22/13: the 100 lb. loss only lasted a few weeks, and I've since regained some of the weight. Stats updated to reflect this.

Now that I'm free of the corporate shackles, I have much more time to, ya know, DO stuff. Like exercise. I've done more exercise this week than I have in ages. I'm going to get this last 20 lbs. off, by God!

Yesterday was a high-calorie day, so I've got to ease up a bit today.

At what point do I stop being depressed that I lost 100 lbs. and still am considered "fat?" And still LOOK fat and feel fat?

I bought a couple of bathing suits the other day and put them on at home, and was just... UGH, still fat. It's so depressing.

So far today I've eaten the following:

Coffee with HWC - 150 cals
Half a pint of Arctic Zero - 75 cals
Salami w/cream cheese rollups - eeee, probably 600 cals??
Two cheeseburgers - about 700 cals

Good Lord, that's 1,525 already, and it's only 4:40 p.m...

Guess I'm not eating dinner. Just water!

Hi Vilya- Please don't be upset about losing 100 pounds and still feeling fat. I am in the same boat. I was at one time down to 155 but gain and am now working my way back and then some I hope. I'm sure you look great and I know you feel better. At 100 pounds plus could you have enjoyed the 2.5 mile walk?

Hey Tania, thanks for the encouragement! You're absolutely right, I would NOT have been able to do 2.5 miles with the extra 100 lbs. I have to remind myself about that sort of thing all the time when I start feeling "still fat."

Thanks!

Yep, we will win!

Food today:

Coffee w/HWC - 100 cals.
Pulled pork - 400 cals
Taco casserole - 300 cals
Cheeseburgers - 700 cals

Total today: 1,500

Also did some light walking, but nothing strenuous. Best part about quitting the corporate world - not sitting in a chair for 9 hours a day. I'm much more active now, just in my daily life. Love it!

Total so far: 1,060.

I'm making a few hardboiled eggs to have for dinner tonight. Will make deviled eggs.

I'm going to a friend's house for dinner tonight, and I have 720 calories left for the day, so that should be fine. I don't want to overeat today, as I weigh on Sundays.

Oh man, I'm going to have to weigh tomorrow. I went to a friend's house for dinner last night, and proceeded to uh, imbibe adult beverages. So I'm hung over and feeling like crud today. I don't even wanna look at the scale...

I decided to change my avatar and my stats. I haven't been 184 in so long I didn't think it was right to keep claiming I had lost 100 lbs. I mean, I did, but it only lasted a couple weeks. And I've raised my goal weight to 180, instead of 170.

I need to feel as though I can achieve something again.

Too many carbs again yesterday. I'm making a plan today and sticking to it.

Breakfast - cheeseburger (1 patty, 1 slice of cheese)
Lunch - leftover ribs (4); salad
Dinner - bacon and eggs

Hi Vilya! Wow, I am so inspired after reading your journal. I got down to the 180's and kept jumping up for a while too...You just have to keep up the good fight. I feel like every time I get under 200 I start to sabotage myself by eating more calories and carbs...This time I have decided to be happy when I am under 200 but not to forget that I am still at WAR with my body. There is no reason to dislike yourself...I am speaking to myself as well Vilya. Don't let your guard down!!
Hugs!!
Jen

Please do...Please do not stop. When you let your foot off the gas; there are many distractions ahead. Do you have any physical goals you want to reach such as a marathon or perhaps learning how to dance? I found that finding new things to stretch my momentum and strength really helped me from watching the scale to challenging to reach a new goal in my physical strength. Perhaps that would help you stay motivated. I challenge myself even now at 284. My mind doesn't think I'm 284 so I have to remind it sometimes I have to take it easy not to injure myself. However, you are under 200 and can take on more physical challenges that you could when you weighed 100 pounds more. Take advantage of the loss and when you feel fat; carry something around that weighs 100 lbs. That will be an eye opener

Today's challenge is 5 minutes of lunges...I can do this and so can you

I do have physical goals I'd like to reach! For instance, I used to ride when I was in my teens and 20's, and then I had to stop because I got too fat. Well, I started back up when I got down to around 200, and it was so wonderful!

My next thing is learning to kayak. I've always wanted to do that, and now I can actually fit in the kayak.

Great advice; thank you!

Awww...that's awesome! I want to ride a bike again. Kayaking sounds amazing...have you seen people paddle boarding while standing up? That looks like a lot of fun I want to go sky diving, but I'm sure there is a weight limit. The last time I flew I was so embarrassed. I had to ask for a seatbelt extender...

Ohh, I would love to try skydiving someday! I'm scared, though!

I did very well yesterday. Stayed within my calorie limit for the first time in days, and also did a 3-mile walk. I feel strong today!

I have to go grocery shopping later, which is always kind of a minefield, but I'm going to make a list and go in prepared. I can do this!

Food so far today:

Coffee w/HWC - 150 cals
3 eggs fried in 1/2 Tbsp. butter - 260 cals
