Quick report, I am still trending downward, albeit very slowly. Half a lb. or less per week. I don't care, though. Even if I lose at that rate, that's still 20 lbs. in a year.

I haven't checked in a while. I am 5 lbs. up in the last 5 days, I don't know how that's possible. I was 191 this morning. Um, what?? I have not been overeating to the point of gaining 5 lbs. in 5 days, so what the heck is going on?

I'm going to drink a lot of water today and keep my calories low and see what happens by my Sunday weigh-in.

This is weird...

No, I didn't add anything new. Maybe it's just one of those things that happens every now and then. I'm hoping it's just an aberration and will be gone soon!

You guys, I'm trying not to panic. I was up another .2 this morning, to 191.2. I have NO IDEA what is happening. I kept my calories at 1,400 yesterday. I didn't even hit 20 carbs. Tomorrow is my weigh day, and I'm trying not to freak out.

I feel like I have let people down. I've been spinning my wheels for months, not losing anything, and I feel like I have people who look up to me for what I've accomplished, but I can't reach my goal.

YOU are NOT a let down. Goodness look how far you have come in your weightloss journey. I am sure you are frustrated trying to figure out how to reach what you believe is your weightloss goal but you should never consider yourself a let down. We all have setbacks so don't pressure yourself there. I just wanted you to know that you are definitely not alone and keep on keepin' on. Carry on now and hold your head up high.

Don't feel that way! Losing weight is a life-long process, I think. You don't suddenly become unimportant just because you are struggling, too.

Perhaps post some food journals on one of the boards? People might have suggestions. Hang in there.

OK, my official weight for this week ended up being 189.4. So I did manage to undo some of the damage.

Thanks for your encouragement, guys.

And I was at 187.6 this morning. Who the heck knows why I shot up 5 lbs. last week? I'm still keeping my carbs very low this week, too. I want to reach goal this year!

I can only speak for myself, but more than 2-3 TBSP of heavy cream will stall me. So I could not eat that kind of ice cream more than once in a while. I actually do better with much less cream spooned over a cup of berries. Higher carbs but my body likes it.

Just a thought. Glad those 5 lbs went away - could have been anything, really!

That's a good point about the cream. I haven't had it in a while; I'll see if it helps. I'm trying to stick with meat, cheese, eggs, and salad for a while, and not much else.

It drives me nuts because others can enjoy LC desserts regularly, but unfortunately, not I. Especially if I have a pumpkin bake or similar for breakfast.
I'm trying to stick to tea or decaf in the evenings. Emphasis on trying.

Anyway, sounds like you've got it going in the right direction. KUTGW!

Thanks, everyone, you guys are so nice.

I'm wearing a pair of jeans today that I haven't worn in a couple weeks, and they are tight. It's just extra motivation to get these few lbs. back off! I have worked too hard and come too far to go back now!!!

I feel like I'm getting it back under control. I have made a concerted effort to stop eating my occasional carbs like popcorn and Carb Smart bars, because "occasional" was turning into "all the time."

Have been eating mostly just eggs, meat, and cheese the past few days, and I can feel the cravings diminishing. And with that, the feeling of control is coming back.

Have not eaten anything today except for a handful of almonds and coffee. I'm starving! I didn't get a chance for lunch; too busy at work. Well, if nothing else, it's like a trial run for JUDDD, should I ever decide to try that.

I never tried JUDDD because I was afraid of going low, but I just tested my BG and it's at 74, which is pretty darn perfect.

Vilya- Dr. Johnson warns that many Type 2 diabetics can't do JUDDD. My own sister had a problem when she tried, and Jenny Ruhl (BloodSugar 101) couldn't manage it either when she tried--her blood sugar went out of control.

Be careful not to let yourself get too hungry. I'm not diabetic, but when I was doing JUDDD (and now that I'm just doing a couple of DDs a week of 350 cal), I actually eat several times during the day. I can't really go very long without food, but it's apparently even more important for diabetics to keep blood sugar level.

Hi, Leo! I'm not planning on JUDDDing, and normally I would never go that long without food. It just happened that way yesterday. I was kind of glad, though, because it gave me that chance to see what it was doing to my blood sugar.

Still sticking to meat, eggs, cheese, veggies, and cream in my coffee. And cravings are just about gone. Scale is starting to move downwards again! The carb creep is what was holding me back, looks like...

I was looking enviously at your ice cream--but I find that even in maintenance, treats like that are a problem for me. They can tend to be a trigger for other indulgences--and even when they're low carb, they add up to more than I can tolerate.

I do best with very 'clean' eating--fish, meat, eggs, veggies. And my 'new' plan is to limit any treats to Sundays only. I did this during weight loss and found that the single day a week kept me from burn out and didn't hinder my losing. I'm hoping this will work similarly for me to maintain.

I've been so busy with work I just haven't been able to post much. Still holding around 187. I think I'm just going to hang out at this weight for a while, since my body apparently likes being here.

That's not a bad idea - better than making yourself nuts and regaining, which is what I did 4 years ago.

The struggle goes on. Still hanging in there at the same 187 - 189, but I did manage to get back to induction levels of carb this week, and that has helped the cravings tremendously.

I really want to lose a few "virgin" lbs. by the end of this summer.

I kind of went nuts for 2 days around my birthday and ate cake one day and pie the next, but the good thing is it smacked me back into reality of "you can't do this and feel good." It was good incentive to get back on track.
